Story
Meet Princess Audrey – Your Future Princess is a Queen in the Making!
Audrey is a three-year-old English Bulldog with a personality as big as her adorable, wrinkly face! Rescued from a Southern California shelter, Audrey found herself adopted and then heartbreakingly returned when her family moved and couldn’t take her along. But their loss is your gain—because this girl is ready to rule your heart!
Why You’ll Love Audrey:
Audrey is a Happy Healthy mush face baby with a ton of love to give. She shows not major medical issues and moves around like she hasn’t been in the shelter twice from the streets! This is her chance to shiv=ne and show the world who she really is!! We are giving her that freedom!
Audrey is potty trained with only a few accidents while in transition and changing her food. She is learning what it’s like to be on a consistent routine and understanding potty time and meal time.
Let’s talk about attention, she absolutely loves it!! But then again, we have not met a rescue yet that does not crave to be next to their human or cuddling with their favorite toy or foster sibling. Whether its belly rubs, snuggles, or just being the star of the show, Audrey thrives on love, you would to if you have been dumped and in the shelter twice! She is a great companion, and loves being near her foster mom, soaking up the sun, and hanging out with her human sibling (especially for naps on the couch!). Lets not forget her bark... it is so unique, her raspy voice will remind you of Janine from Ghostbusters—totally one of a kind! Audrey is good with Other Dogs (with Guidance she is learning her place): She enjoys playing with her foster siblings but isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. If there’s chaos, she might try to be the referee, so a calm home with structured introductions is ideal. Travel companion approved; she takes a little time to settle but did great on her trip from California to Arizona.
What Audrey Needs in Her Forever Home:
• A Calm, Stable Environment: Audrey thrives with structure and guidance.
• Crates are not to her liking: She’s not a fan and prefers to be with her people, she is learning to adjust when she has to be in her crate a chew toy, yak bone, or a puzzle helps keep her anxiety lower and mind stimulated.
• Time to Adjust: Like any rescue, she needs time to decompress (remember the 3-3-3 rule: 3 days to adjust, 3 weeks to settle, 3 months to feel fully at home).
• A Bulldog-Savvy Family: She’s a classic Bulldog—stubborn, loving, and full of personality! Someone familiar with the breed will help her shine.
Audrey’s shelter notes mentioned some reactivity when they were questioned about it and after Mo saw her she could tell it was the stressful kennel environment, but she has shown zero aggression in her foster home. We believe she was just overwhelmed by the shelter chaos again.
