Story
Hi, I’m Frankie (Francis is my name when I am feeling fancy). I’m a 5-year-old Tri Colored English Bulldog and have the heart of a puppy. When you first meet me, my nubby tail will be wiggling and I will let you fall in love with me. But when you take me home, I will be reserved and shy at first. I will slowly open up and show you my silly side. I will be your shadow so you no longer have to go to the bathroom alone. I am super smart and food motivated. I know how to sit, high five, down, and stay/wait. I’m working on leave it, drop it, and answering to my name (to be honest, I know my name, I just really like the treats). I would do best as an only dog or with a dog that is submissive, and with a family who will set firm and consistent boundaries. I’ve been living with a 5 year old child, and while I do LOVE HER, I have jumped at her when we all are excited, so I might be better suited with a family with children no younger than 5. (By the way, I can jump super high). I absolutely love my toys and food, but I can get a little protective of them. Since I spent some time living on the streets, I learned to guard what was mine to stay safe. Because of that, it’s best if other pets give me space during mealtime or when I have a toy. With love, patience, and consistency, I know I can learn to relax and share more easily. I walk very well on a leash, and like to stop to look at other dogs. I go potty outside (I use a doggie door at my foster’s house), and I enjoy baths and playing in the kiddie pool. I do worry when you are away, but if you promise to always come back, I can handle you leaving from time to time. I love my ears and butt scratches, and apparently my eyebrows are good luck so don’t forget to rub those. I will be your best friend, if you’ll be mine. So let’s be roommates and I will promise to be a good loyal boy. ****Please email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to meet me!

Story
LEROY WRIGLEY – YOUR HOLIDAY HIP-HOPPING BULLDOG ELF Age: 2 years old • From: The 5 Freeway + Orange County Shelter • Status: Naughty-but-Nice and Ready for a Forever Home My Christmas Rescue Tale Ho, Ho, HOLD UP — let me tell you how I landed in the Freedom Squad. One minute I was roaming the 5 freeway (don’t ask… I have zero survival skills except wobbling fast), and the next thing you know, the shelter humans were sending out a full rescue plea because nobody could touch me. Not a single elf. I was “not adoptable,” whatever that means. Freedom Frenchie Rescue said, “Move—we got him.” They sent a whole action team to scoop my dramatic bulldog booty, get me to San Diego, and then all the way to Arizona where the real magic started. Decompression, Cookies, and Learning Humans Aren’t So Bad When I got to Mo’s house, they gave me my own cozy space to decompress, breathe, and finally learn the joy of regular meals (yes, several a day, thank you very much). They taught me what “potty outside” means, gave me soft blankets, talked to me gently, and showed me what safe love feels like. And slowly… the “don’t touch me!” Grinch in me started melting like a snowman in Phoenix. My Hip-Hoppin’ Bulldog Shuffle Do I walk? HECK YES. I walk, I wobble, and I can move faster than Santa’s elves when the cookies come out. I do have hip dysplasia—like most English Bulldogs—but mine is extra spicy. My hip sockets didn’t form right, so I strut around with my signature holiday wobble. Phantom of the Opera? No. Leroy of the Wiggle-Opera. Freedom did NEW x-rays and guess what? I still need PT in my future, plus good supplements and a healthy weight. (They DID have to put a few pounds on me… I was skinny like a candy cane.) But I’m doing amazing with the right meds and love. My Personality: A Bulldog Wrapped in Holiday Spirit Listen… I’m a bulldog. Which means I come with a whole personality package. I’m demanding — that’s my #1 talent. I’m opinionated about pretty much everything, dramatic when I don’t get my way, and honestly? I’m absolutely hilarious. But once I decide you’re my person, I’m loyal in a way only a bulldog can be.” I used to be super sketchy about being touched. I did try to bite in the beginning (just calling it like it is), and sometimes when you pick me up I’ll grumble like the Grinch waking up from a nap—but I’ve NEVER gotten anyone. It’s fear, not fury. Now? I come over and lay my big ol’ head in your lap. If you’re lucky I roll on my back for belly rubs. And if you scratch the side of my neck? I SWOON. I bend like a candy cane so you can get the whole thing. That’s premium bulldog service. I’m potty trained, I eat like a champion, and since my neuter I’ve stopped trying to “decorate” every object in the house with my leg lifts. Zero poop accidents. Gold star for me. I can be around other dogs—as long as they pretend I don’t exist. (Honestly same, buddy.) In the future, I could totally have a friend after the holidays… with time and trust. My Perfect Holiday Home I’m searching for someone who loves sweet-but-spicy bulldogs, keeps snacks on hand at all times, and understands slow trust-building with big-hearted patience. I’m all about scratches—just not on my hips for now—and I promise to bring goofy charm and wobbly joy into your world. If you want a loyal Christmas sidekick who’s been tough some stuff but is finally learning how to be happy, I’m your guy. All I Want for Christmas… Is YOU I’m Leroy Wrigley—two years old, a fighter, a lover, a wiggle-walker, and a redeemed freeway elf. I’m finally ready to spend Christmas warm, safe, and adored… maybe under your tree, maybe on your couch, but definitely in your heart. Love Wriggs! PS I am vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, currently I am being fostered in Mesa, AZ. My adoption donation fee is $1050.00 and you can check out how to adopt me at freedomfrenchierescue.org and apply for there too!

Story
WIDE LOAD ALERT: I’m Doohmer Hi. I’m Doohmer. I’m 5 years old and shaped like a brick wrapped in velvet. I came to Freedom Frenchie Rescue from Riverside County with a girl named Darla. Fun fact about my origin story: someone dropped us off a block away from the shelter. The only reason we were found is because a shelter employee was leaving, heard us crying, followed the sound, and called it in. Timing saved our lives. I prefer not to dwell on that part — I prefer snacks and naps. About Me & Darla Everyone thought Darla and I were bonded. Turns out… nah. We were separated to test it, and she is absolutely thriving and living her best life. Me? Same. I could not care less. No hard feelings. I’m very comfortable doing my own thing and vibing independently. My Medical Glow-Up When I came in, my eyes were a mess. I had entropion, which means extra skin was rolling inward and causing infections and making it really hard for me to see. I had surgery to fix it, and wow — it’s so nice to finally see the world clearly. I might need a touch-up someday, but right now I’m thriving and there’s no need to go back in. I feel good. I look good. I see snacks now. Potty Training? Nailed It. Let me brag for a second. Since moving into my foster home, I have had zero accidents after the first day. None. I now whine at the door when I need to go out. Do I always pick the correct door? No. But any door + a whine = I tried, and that counts. My bark-cry is loud, loving, and very effective for getting attention. My Personality (Slow But Powerful) I live by one rule: why rush? Unless snacks are involved — then I move with intention. I love everyone. Dogs, cats, pigs, horses, humans… if you have a pulse (or hooves), I’m a fan. I’m social, affectionate, and happiest just being near my people — preferably on a soft surface where I can fully sprawl and contemplate my next meal. Important Kid Disclaimer I am not recommended for small children. Not because I’m scary — because I am approximately one ton of enthusiasm and mass. I mean well. Physics does not. Older kids and adults who understand wide-load energy are a better fit for me. Foster Mom Pupdate I recently went to a horse show and absolutely crushed it. I wasn’t intimidated at all. I met tons of new people and dogs, soaked up all the attention, and may have assisted myself to part of a grilled cheese. Zero regrets. Why You’ll Love Me If you’re looking for a slow-moving, snack-motivated companion with a huge heart and an even bigger head, I’m your guy. I’m affectionate, social, housetrained, and deeply committed to comfort. Adopt me. Bring snacks. Lower expectations for speed. I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, my adoption donation fee is $1100.00. You can apply for @freedomfrenchierescue.org and I am currently being fostered in North Phoenix, AZ

Story
Meet Casper, the handsome goofball with a heart as big as his smile. His journey to happiness has not exactly been a walk in the park. He first found himself in isolation at the Humane Society, battling pneumonia. Once in our care, we learned he also had Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome, which made every breath a struggle and left him vulnerable to aspiration pneumonia. But Casper is no quitter. After a successful airway surgery, he is breathing easy and finally able to live life the way every dog should, full of tail wags, zoomies, and sunshine naps. Of course, healing is not just about the body. It is about the heart, too. Casper is currently enrolled in a Board and Train program with our friends at Connected Canine, where he is learning to build trust, confidence, and calm. During training, we discovered that Casper is deaf, which helped explain some of the anxieties he carried early on. With consistent hand signals, patience, and a whole lot of love, Casper has been absolutely thriving and showing just how capable and intelligent he is. This boy is a true social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. He lights up around his canine pals and happily joins in playtime shenanigans. He is equal parts goofy entertainer and cuddle connoisseur. One minute making you laugh with his silly antics, the next melting into your lap for snuggles. Casper is ready for a forever family who will embrace him for exactly who he is, unique, resilient, and overflowing with love. If that sounds like you, apply today at skysanctuaryrescue.org/adopt. We cannot wait for you to meet this very special boy.

Story
Hunny is a 3-year-old French Bulldog mix whose journey is nothing short of remarkable. She came to us after surviving a life-threatening electrocution injury to her mouth, an emergency that would have broken most. But Hunny faced it all with quiet strength, endless sweetness, and a spark that refused to dim. Today, Hunny is fully healed and thriving. She has completed a professional Board and Train program with our friends at Connected Canine and continues to shine as she builds on everything she has learned. She is eager, bright, and so proud to show off her skills. Nothing slows this girl down. She is loving life, and it shows in everything she does. Hunny is playful, wildly entertaining, and full of personality. She will make you laugh with her silly faces, and pure joy over the simplest things. She is a true testament to resilience and just as tender and affectionate as she is goofy. While Hunny is friendly and loving with her people, she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. Spayed, fully vetted, professionally trained, and microchipped, Hunny is ready to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. She will thrive with someone who appreciates her fun-loving spirit and is excited to continue building on the strong foundation she already has. If you are looking for a dog who is smart, strong, hilarious, and absolutely bursting with love, Hunny might just be your perfect match. Submit an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications to meet this extraordinary little survivor. We cannot wait to introduce you.

Bennington is a Sharpei mix weighing about 65 pounds. As many Sharpeis do, he had some issues with his eye lids and had surgery to correct that while in rescue. All went very well and he's fully healed and ready to see the world. Bennington is a wonderful dog! He's happy-go-lucky, loving and very loyal. He's house trained and has been a joy to be around in his foster home. He's very well behaved. He's athletic and strong and would love to go on hikes and walks with you. Camping also sounds like fun! We think he would be happiest as your one and only pet. Bennington is neutered, vet checked, current on vaccines, licensed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. Contact Carrie On Rescue if you have any questions about Bennington or would like an application for him: email: carrieonrescuers@hotmail.com text: (480) 603-7680 Please note: we only do adoptions within the state of Arizona.
