Reginald’s story is heartbreaking… but it’s also proof that even the most forgotten dogs can learn to feel safe again. ❤️ Reginald was found dumped far out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by piles of trash. He survived by eating rocks and plastic, desperately trying to stay alive. He slept hidden beneath pieces of cardboard, trying to disappear from a world that had failed him. We don’t know how long he was out there alone, but by the time help arrived, he was in BAD shape. Then, completely by chance, a kind person spotted him while off-roading. Rescue efforts immediately began, and the moment Reginald realized he was finally safe… his entire body relaxed. Like he had been holding his breath for weeks waiting for someone to come. Now this sweet boy is thriving in foster care. He may still carry some physical and emotional scars from his past, but today he is healthy, loved, and so incredibly happy to be alive. Reginald is about 4 years old, 50 pounds, and we believe he’s a Bulldog/Staffordshire mix. He’s short, stocky, adorable, and full of personality. His favorite place in the world is curled up in your lap under a soft blanket. He loves sunbathing, going for car rides, and simply being near his people. When he gets excited, his whole body wiggles and he makes the cutest little grunting and whining noises that will absolutely melt your heart. Despite everything he’s been through, Reginald does not show an ounce of aggression. He has such a gentle, soft vibe about him that people immediately notice when they meet him. He can still startle easily with loud noises or sudden movements, which is understandable considering his past, but his heart is incredibly sweet. Because of his background, we do recommend slow and gradual introductions with other dogs so he can continue building confidence and feeling secure. We are not sure how he is with cats. Reginald doesn’t need perfection. He just needs someone who will never abandon him again. After everything he survived, we would love nothing more than to see this boy finally get the safe, loving forever home he’s always deserved. ❤️🐾

My husband's dog, Xena, has been a part of our family since he adopted her from a private party when she was a year old. She's a playful yet calm dog who gets excited when food is being prepared or when she encounters strangers. Xena loves playing with her toys and enjoys going for rides. She's an affectionate dog who gets along well with both kids and adults. As an indoor dog, Xena has a comfortable life, and her diet consists of Chewy brand canned food, although she's not picky and enjoys other foods too. A groomer visits her once a month to keep her well-groomed. Unfortunately, my husband passed away this year, and I'm facing medical issues, making it challenging for me to care for Xena.

Tulip is the whole package with a little help from the right home 🏠 Tulip 🌷 is looking for her furever family, a home who understands her long term needs. We promise she is worth it!! Tulip came to us as an owner surrender in deplorable condition; skin and feet swollen and cracking with open sores, ear infection, and a heart murmur. After many tests and vet visits we discovered she also had an untreated thyroid condition. Now, Tulip is in much better shape...she can actually walk now!! Her long term care means monthly thyroid medications ($25/month), monthly cytopoint and allergy medication ($150/month) and a yearly echocardiogram. SCFBR will cover her next echocardiogram, due in July. At almost 6 years old, this girl has been through a lot. But, thanks to donations from our supporters, Tulip is happy and healthier than she has ever been! Tulip is potty-trained, vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed and loves other dogs! Like we said...the whole package🥰. If you are interested in adopting Tulip, please complete an application. Her adoption donation has been discounted by 50% due to her ongoing medical needs. Tulip is fostering in Downey, CA and can be adopted out of state. Rescue does not cover transportation costs.

FOSTER HOME (OR FOSTER TO ADOPT) HOME NEEDED FOR REBEL Rebel is one of many Frenchies dumped at animal shelters due to developing IVDD. Rebel is one of the lucky ones saved because of your support. Now, Rebel needs you again. Rebel is 2️⃣ years young and a bundle of hilarious energy; this guy has LOTS of personality. He is dog-friendly and loves to play. Rebel does not have use of his back legs and doesn't seem to care, or notice! SCFBR is in the process of having a custom wheelchair designed for him. He is incontinent and does need to wear a diaper. Due to his IVDD, he cannot release his own bladder and needs to be catheterized four times a day (we will teach his new home how to do this!) SCFBR will supply everything Rebel needs for his daily care. We know caring for an IVDD dog takes more time than a Frenchie without a disability, but once a routine is in place, Rebel's care becomes second nature.
