How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team. Why this pet is the one for you:Greetings Hoomans! My name is Natasha and I am searching for my forever family! I have been in a wonderful Foster Home for over 5 months! My Foster Mom keeps telling me to be patient and stay hopeful because there is some family out there looking for a gal like me! So I'm trying really hard to be patient. I am a beautiful and very sweet 9 year old with a calm but also playful attitude about life.I would love to have a large, fenced-in yard where I can do zoomies and chase squirrels and lizards. I really don't know what I'd do with them if I caught them, but the chase sure is fun! I can also be chill and relax with you in the house or the yard.I am good in the house and haven't had any accidents. I sleep a lot after my zoomies and chasing critters but I am quiet all night.I think I would be a good girl with another pup to play with. I do have a Foster brother and we play a lot! Oh, his name is Jumbo! My Foster Mom doesn't know if I would be cat friendly or not. I also haven't been introduced to kids, as far as she knows. I think I'd love having, maybe someone over 10, to play with as long as they can respect me.My Foster Mom has been working a lot on leash training but I might need more of that.I also stress out on car rides but if we take short trips a few times I think I'd probably enjoy the after awhile. DOB: August 2018Weight: 27 lbsDisposition: Confident, Inquisitive, PlayfulEthel was rescued on 5th August 2020 during a slaughterhouse closure together with another 14 dogs conducted by FOUR PAWS in Kampong Thom, Cambodia. After rescue she was housed at Animal Rescue Cambodia in Phnom Penh until she flew stateside at the beginning of December 2020 when she joined us at The Barking Lot.Ethel has the cutest little ears there ever was and their a dead giveaway for her Shar Pei roots! This lovely girl used to be timid around other dogs, especially at dinner time. Like many of our rescues who have been through traumatic experiences, she gets defensive about her food. The rest of the time, Ethel can be coy, but she is learning to trust again and is really relaxed with her caretakers. Ethel has a lovely, inquisitive nature and is building trust with new people daily. She enjoys handling and cuddles from people she trusts and is treat motivated. Meet Dolce — Sweet by Name, Sweet by Nature Fostering in Phoenix AZ Dolce truly lives up to her name — she’s the definition of sweet! This lovely girl has had a bit of a rollercoaster journey and somehow found herself in need of rescue twice. We like to think we’re pretty great at screening adopters, but clearly, Dolce slipped through the cracks — and we’re determined to get it right this time! She’s wonderful with other dogs and has previously lived with kids. We’re not sure about cats yet, but she’s such a gentle soul we wouldn’t be surprised if she did just fine with a proper introduction. She is amazing with big and small dogs. Her BFFs are a malinois and a shitzu. Dolce is healthy overall, though she’s working on shedding a few extra pounds (aren’t we all?). She walks nicely on a leash, rides like a champ in the car, and has great house manners. This girl adores her walks and will go for miles if you are up for it! This girl has amazing skills at making you feel safe in your own home! There are zero worries you will ever have anyone in your backyard without this girl letting you know. Have we mentioned how much she loves water? Zero fear of the pool in fact looks at the pool as her own very large water bowl. She will also jump right in the shower with you if given the opportunity. Her only “flaw”? She doesn’t have that classic Shar Pei look — but what she lacks in wrinkles, she makes up for in personality and heart. She’s scheduled for her wellness check and bloodwork soon, but from what we can see, her eyes and ears are in great shape — no entropion and wide open ear canals! Honey (she goes by Dolce, but we have another dog also with that name) came from a home with far too many dogs that overwhelmed the owner. Honey is 43 pounds, is recently spayed and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Honey is being treated for an ear infection, and is on some high quality food and fish oil to clean up her skin. She is a typical female, who can get a little growly around strangers poking and prodding (not a fan of the vet but manageable), but has lived with other dogs and kids with no issues. Her coat is cleaning up slowly with good food and some antibiotics. She came to us with a pretty patchy coat. Honey is the princess, preferring inside to out (she is completely housetrained, but just doesn't want to hang out in the yard otherwise). She is quiet, not a big barker and likes to give kisses and hugs. Honey is fostering in the Indio, California area.
