Story
Bella Bagel was surrendered by her owner for unknown reasons to Lancaster Shelter. Understandably, the shelter environment left her feeling scared and confused. Sadly, that meant she didn’t always show her true self when potential adopters walked by her kennel. On February 10th, we welcomed Bella as a Frosted Face. She is 12 years old and weighs 66 lbs. Bella is currently enjoying a two-week Frosted Fling, giving her the chance to relax, decompress, and show us who she truly is in the comfort of a home environment. This time helps us learn more about her personality, preferences, and needs, so we can find her the very best forever match. Bella's foster mom shared this great first update: "Bella has been with us just shy of a week, and I kept waiting for something extraordinary to report… but honestly, things have been pretty boring (in an great way!) Bella has fit right into our family. She hasn’t required much extra effort on my part as a foster mom. She’s settled right into our routine of walkies, meals, and naps. She’s even proving to be cat-compatible! (Although I have yet to leave them together unsupervised.) I suspect there’s a little more under the surface, as Bella is still pretty quiet and reserved. She’d make a terrible guard dog — she doesn’t even lift her napping head until we’ve already come through the front door and are standing in the living room! She sleeps through the night with my daughter and has already mastered the doggie door. So while there’s nothing dramatic to report, Bella is doing exactly what a good pup should: settling in, feeling safe, and becoming part of the pack." Stay tuned for future updates from Bella's foster family! To meet Bella, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 1/26/2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Luna may be shy with new faces and places, but once she feels safe, her sweet nature shines through and she forms meaningful bonds with her people. In our care, she has made great strides in opening up to her familiar handlers, soliciting affection, playing with toys and even getting the zoomies! She loves going on walks and is excellent on leash. Luna will require ongoing daily medication to help manage her hypothyroidism and would thrive with a patient family who respects her boundaries and discomfort with certain types of handling. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl, you'll be rewarded with lots of love and companionship in return! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Cream Weight: 46.4 Age: 4yrs 8mths 0wks

Story
Meet Donette: Your Wrinkly Walking Companion! Looking for a leash-walking superstar with adorable rolls for days? Say hello to Donette, a charming shar-pei who's ready to trot into your heart! This spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated lady has mastered the art of the neighborhood stroll—though fair warning, she's got some serious prey drive when it comes to cats on the run! What Makes Donette Special: • __Perfect Leash Manners__ (after the initial excitement wears off!) • __Crate Trained Pro__ – sleeps like a dream and eats her meals politely in her den • __Gentle Treat Taker__ with zero food aggression • __Easy-Going for Grooming__ – ears, paws, tail? No problem! • __Dog-Friendly__ (with proper introductions) and currently living harmoniously with other pups. She much prefers the calmer dogs in the home and avoids the rambunctious puppish dogs (so annoying!) Donette's Dream Home: This sweet girl thrives in a calm, adult-only household where she can decompress and build confidence at her own pace. She's still learning that toys are fun and would love a patient family who understands that unpredictable movements and loud noises make her nervous (hence no small kids). Give her space around her head, and she'll reward you with loyalty and companionship! __Ideal Match:__ Adults or older kids only, no small children, cat-free home, patient dog lovers who appreciate a work-in-progress with tons of potential! She is probably a one person dog. Ready to give Donette the peaceful, loving home she deserves? She's waiting to meet you! She is fostering in Southern California (San Bernadino county).March 7, 2026, 1:57 pm

Story
Betty is an amazingly happy and spunky shar-pei that was surrendered from a home with way too many dogs. She is great with other dogs and kids. She is a great alarm for strangers and deliveries, barking appropriate warnings. Betty is cautious with strangers and will bark initially at strangers, but once she decides you're are okay, you are in!!! With her chosen/trusted people, she loves attention and is the first to show up and get in line when you pay attention to any other dog. She loves her rubs on her face and body. She loves to run/zoomies, but she is also calm & will sleep all day if given the chance. Betty enjoys laying in the sun at times. Betty is totally house trained and is completely fine left in the house. Not crate trained. She will panic if left in a room by herself. She wants to please, but not much obedience experience. Loves giving kisses. Betty would do best in a dog savvy calm home, who can read clues that she gives when she’s nervous or uncomfortable. Her foster is working on calmer car rides. She will sleeps in bed with you, and she comes when called, and takes treat with manners. She is good on walks, but still room for improvement on leash skills. Did we mention her absolutely gorgeous coat?? Betty is spayed, has had entropion eyelid surgery, is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is fostering in the San Diego area.March 8, 2026, 3:51 pm

She is fantastic with other dogs and her currently bestie in her foster home is another female shar pei...yep she is that good of a girl! Darlene is great with kids and in fact lived with kiddo's in her previous home. This girl is like most shar pei and fastidiously clean and would never even consider having an accident in the house. Her current hobbies include: -Following you to the bathroom (safety first) -Accepting snacks that she did not earn -Doorbell alarm system operator -Toy de-stuffing (surgery without a license) Darlene is the girl that doesn't care if you're rich, poor, tall, short, or binge-watch true crime every night - if you will love her, she is yours forever. She has been waiting for someone to pick her. Not because she is broken-just because she hasn't met YOU yet. If you think you might belong together. She is patiently waiting in the Riverside, CA area ...practicing her tail wags. Darlene is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and absolutely perfect shar pei eyesMarch 7, 2026, 1:57 pm
