Thank you.*** Hamish is a hunk of burning love in a lap-dog body...even though he's very much not lap-sized! He is about 3 years old, weighs 66 pounds and he is dreaming of finding his forever home. Meet Hamish, a big-headed cutie with the best smile and a waggy tail, you can't help but fall in love with him. He can be a little timid with new people and takes a minute to warm up, but once he does, he's all in. If he sees a lap, he is in it. No hesitation. No regrets. Hamish is looking for a loving family that will give him a little time to open up and feel safe and a leader to rely on. He knows his basic commands, and looks to his person for comfort, reassurance, and guidance. Hamish is loyal, affectionate and happiest when he's close to his human. This guy also gets the funniest zoomies, he rips around and is so happy, it is very funny to watch. Basically, he's a big, lovable potato with legs, who's ready to be someone's constant companion. Hamish prefers to be your one-and-only pup though and will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. Hamish would just love it if you came to meet him, with his cuddly nature and his cute lowrider stance, he will for sure keep you smiling every day. She was chained outside in Detroit — tangled between overgrown trees, no shade, no warmth, no straw. That was Midge's life before rescue. But it wasn't until our friends The Karens saw her photo on Facebook and reached out with their own pictures and proof of her past that we truly understood everything this little girl had survived. We don't know how she went from that chain to a shelter, but what we do know is this: Midge is safe now, and she will never have to live that life again. Even after rescue, the road hasn't been easy. Midge has gone through heartworm treatment while under our care, and yet — through all of it — she is wiggly, happy, and full of heart. Midge is pint-sized (just 41 lbs.) and is discovering what it means to be truly loved, and she is blossoming more every single day. At 2–3 years old, she's past the puppy chaos but still young enough for years of adventures ahead. A low-key cuddle enthusiast, Midge would rather lounge on the couch with you than run a marathon. Venus was rescued back in October. Her first week in rescue was 24/7 hospital care on IV liquids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Her diagnosis included several broken ribs (likely from humans kicking her). We have a strong inkling that Venus somehow escaped from the life of a bait dog for dog fighting which sadly is commonplace in our state. She was very thin, every bone in her body was protruding and she had very infected abcesses all over her body from bite wounds. She had heartworms and has completed the full treatment. She has made a complete recovery and is ready to be a part of a family, something she has never had before! She does not get along with other dogs. Cats aren’t her thing either, but she makes up for it with loyalty, affection, and the sweetest temperament. Venus is ready to brighten someone’s world. Could it be yours? Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks.
