We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Story
Hi, this is Princess 🐾 Princess is almost 2 years old (born July 2nd, 2024). She’s a smart, loyal, and affectionate dog who loves being close to her person and enjoys chew toys and cozy spaces. She came from a neglectful environment and has developed anxiety, so she can be fearful at first with new people or situations. Because of this, she needs a patient, calm, and experienced owner who can give her time to feel safe. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving and devoted. She would do best in a quiet, stable home with someone who can provide consistency and care. This is a serious rehoming decision. I want to ensure she goes to a safe and loving home. Please reach out if you feel you’re a good fit 💕

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Monty, nicknamed “ChiChi” by his foster family, is the sweetest little guy you’ll ever meet! He’s even smaller in person than he looks in photos, which only adds to his irresistible charm. ChiChi is an absolute sweetheart who loves nothing more than curling up in your lap and being close to his people. ChiChi has a wonderful temperament and truly thrives on companionship. He’s fully up to date on vaccinations, neutered, house-trained, and crate-trained. He’s not a big barker, rides beautifully in the car, and enjoys going for walks—making him a fantastic companion for everyday life. Chichi was allergy tested and is currently undergoing immunotherapy, which he’s tolerating very well. The treatment is temporary and helping him feel his best. He does receive biweekly injections and takes daily medication, so his adopter should be comfortable continuing this care. While bulldog experience is preferred, it’s not required. ChiChi would do best in a home with older children, as young kids can make him nervous. He has met both dogs and cats without issue. He plays enthusiastically with other dogs and can sound like a little wild animal during playtime, so meet-and-greets will be arranged with any resident pets to ensure the perfect match. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Monty, please fill out an online application. Send questions to cbrookszy@yahoo.com.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. March 11, 2026, 9:37 pm

Story
Hamish is a hunk of burning love in a lap-dog body...even though he's very much not lap-sized! He is about 3 years old, weighs 66 pounds and he is dreaming of finding his forever home. Meet Hamish, a big-headed cutie with the best smile and a waggy tail, you can't help but fall in love with him. He can be a little timid with new people and takes a minute to warm up, but once he does, he's all in. If he sees a lap, he is in it. No hesitation. No regrets. Hamish is looking for a loving family that will give him a little time to open up and feel safe and a leader to rely on. He knows his basic commands, and looks to his person for comfort, reassurance, and guidance. Hamish is loyal, affectionate and happiest when he's close to his human. This guy also gets the funniest zoomies, he rips around and is so happy, it is very funny to watch. Basically, he's a big, lovable potato with legs, who's ready to be someone's constant companion. Hamish prefers to be your one-and-only pup though and will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. Hamish would just love it if you came to meet him, with his cuddly nature and his cute lowrider stance, he will for sure keep you smiling every day. If you are interested in Hamish and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! **Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.**
