Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.2/24/24 Still available! 2/4/24 *Bonded pair*.  Shortbread (brindle) and Poundcake (brown) are absolutely precious! These little girls are 4 months old. They were surrendered to our rescue by the breeder because they both have Spina Bifida. They have no mobility issues at all- the only symptom is that they are both bladder and bowel incontinent. They will always have to wear diapers. The upside is that you don't have to worry about house training them! These are probably the easiest pups I've ever had. They don't get into things, not big chewers, easy to correct, and they love to snuggle, but if you can't snuggle, they will find a soft spot to snuggle with each other or play together. They are just as sweet as can be, and you have to admit, they are incredibly cute in their little diapers and suspenders! Even though they are still just babies, they are old souls. Despite the diapers, they are very easy to care for. We have them sleep in a crate together, without their diapers, on a grid, so their pee/poop goes under them, and they aren't sitting in it. In the mornings, they eat in their crate, then about 30 min after eating, I put their diapers on them and they come out for the day. I usually only change them one time throughout the day. Then, at night, I remove their diapers and put them back in their crates to eat dinner, and they are perfectly content to go to bed and rest for the remainder of the night. They love to go outside on nice days and explore the yard, but it should be noted that as English Bulldogs, they should never be allowed to stay outside on warm days due to their increased risk for heat stroke. They love being picked up and held or just talked to. They are very affectionate, but not at all demanding. They must be adopted together and stay together. Before applying, please think about whether you will want to deal with diapers on 2 dogs for the next 10+ years. While they are very easy, it is still a major commitment, and I don't want them to ever be separated or booted outside due to their adopter getting frustrated. So please put a lot of thought into whether you are ready for that kind of commitment. They are not free, nor will they be a deeply discounted adoption. Even though they have Spina Bifida, they are still wonderful, and I want them to go to someone who knows their worth and will love them, diapers and all. They are special to me and can stay here with me for however long it takes to find them the perfect home. Please private message for info on the adoption fee. They are up to date on vaccinations and I have had them spayed and microchipped.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.3/10/24  Beatrice (AKA Bea, AKA Mrs. Bea, AKA The Beaster) Beatrice is a purebred English Bulldog looking for a loving home where she can be the queen of her domain. Mrs. Bea was adopted out to a family last year who had adopted two bulldogs previously from AASR, and, unfortunately, Bea has shown her strong preference to live her life free of other dogs. Prior to coming to AASR last year, Bea was a breeder mom and has had at least one litter of puppies. Since being adopted out, Bea has learned what being a carefree pet is all about, and she is ready to show her next family what an easygoing, low energy, goofy, and sweet chonk she is. Some facts about Bea: Breed: English Bulldog Age: 4 (born Oct 2019) Weight: 54 lb Spayed Good with Dogs? Nope. Nope. Nope. Good with Cats? Unknown but would probably pay them no mind. She’s met a neighborhood cat and was curious but didn’t chase. Good with Kids? Unknown, but Bea would likely be fantastic with older kids. Due to her size and having no idea how to cuddle in any way that is remotely comfortable or normal (more on that below), she may not be a good couch companion to smaller children. Favorite past times: eating, sleeping, snoring, and chewing on toys. Car riding: Bea LOVES a short car ride for a pup cup or McDonald’s ice cream. To keep her safe, she must be lifted in and out of the car. Manners: Bea is the best dog. Her family says that she is the easiest dog they’ve ever had (minus the inability to get along with other dogs). Walks: Bea likes to walk on her own terms. She doesn’t understand the concept of walking more than once a day, so don’t expect an exercise partner. While Bea gets excited to see her leash and harness and waddles to the front door, she can also quickly lose interest. And when she does, she will stop completely frozen until you turn around and walk home. Sometimes this is a block from home, other times you haven’t even left the driveway. House training: 100% housetrained. Bea is AMAZING and has had almost zero accidents. She loves her potty routine (breakfast, mid-day, dinner, before bed). In the off chance she needs out at another time, Bea will stand by the door. Couch behavior: Bea loves to spend some time on the couch but can’t get up (or down safely) by herself. She likes to be next to her humans, buuuuut, she is also a very awkward cuddler. She spends her couch time plotting how to get to the humans’ ears that she so desperately wants to nibble, and she attempts (very unsuccessfully) to get to those ears. She puts all her energy and strength into this, which likely wouldn’t be great for small kids. Stairs: Bea is obsessed with taking herself upstairs, even when no one asked her to. She does fine going up but can sometimes get intimidated coming down if anything is out of place or the lighting is poor. Health and maintenance: Because Bea is a purebred English Bulldog, she does require a few things to keep her in tip-top health. -Occasionally needs her paw pads trimmed of overgrown keratin; she is very tolerant of this and nail trims. -Needs nose wrinkle and tail pocket cleaned with wipes and wiped dry every day or two. -Needs her ears wiped clean weekly to help prevent ear infections. -Takes over-the counter joint chews. -Takes Thyro-Tabs for low thyroid. This only costs about $2/month. Bea’s current family will send her with a supply of the wipes, joint chews, and 2+ months’ worth of Thyro-Tabs to get her started in her new home. Beatrice is currently located in Roanoke, Virginia, but transportation to the northeast/New England is a possibility. Story
Meet Alfreda aka Freida! She is a lovable cuddly meatball. Freida is a 3 year old English Bulldog who was surrendered by a commercial breeder. Freida enjoys running around the yard in short bursts of course. She loved the snow and rolling around in it! She is even starting to play with toys. Freida loves people and wants to climb on top of you for love. She is full a snorty lovebug and is full of silly bulldog antics. Freida has been spayed and is UTD on vaccines. Frieda has short little bulldog legs so steps are difficult for her. She has learned to use the ramp that is outside so that she get up and down the steps. Freida is working on housebreaking and is making good progress. Freida is fussy about where she potties. She will only go on grass. She needs to run around a bit before she goes. Freida is crate trained and goes in by herself when she wants to sleep. Freida is on a little bit of a diet as she is a little overweight. She's lost 3 pounds so far! Freida would do best in a home with no small children under 8 as she will try to cuddle up and may knock small children over. Freida is being fostered in Schuylkill County so any potential adopters will have to travel to meet her. If you believe that Freida is a good fit for you, please apply at https://www.zoeshouserescue.com/adopt. Zoe's House Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Story
Bodhi is ready to look for his forever home. Bodhi is an 8 month old Beagle/Bulldog mix who came from the Amish when he got too old to sell. He has been in foster for about a month now and is fitting in nicely. Bodhi is a little shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly. His foster mom states he is housebroken and crate trained. He is a hoarder of things so if you can’t find anything just look in your sofa cushion. Bodhi also plays well with other dogs but does like to chase cats but only to play.
