Story
My name is Keslo. I'm an energetic pup looking for a new home. I have lots of energy and will need an experienced person to help me to learn my doggy manners and help me be my best self. I can be a bit rambunctious and ask that any children in the home be dog savee and 13 years or older. I am not a fan of other dogs and ask to be the only pet in the home. I love to play and enjoy the company of people. I just need someone to help me be calmer when I need to settle down. With some structure and training I am sure to be an amazing companion to give you love and friendship for years to come. ---This animal is available by appointment only - please reach out to schedule an appointment with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.2/24/24 Still available! 2/4/24 *Bonded pair*.  Shortbread (brindle) and Poundcake (brown) are absolutely precious! These little girls are 4 months old. They were surrendered to our rescue by the breeder because they both have Spina Bifida. They have no mobility issues at all- the only symptom is that they are both bladder and bowel incontinent. They will always have to wear diapers. The upside is that you don't have to worry about house training them! These are probably the easiest pups I've ever had. They don't get into things, not big chewers, easy to correct, and they love to snuggle, but if you can't snuggle, they will find a soft spot to snuggle with each other or play together. They are just as sweet as can be, and you have to admit, they are incredibly cute in their little diapers and suspenders! Even though they are still just babies, they are old souls. Despite the diapers, they are very easy to care for. We have them sleep in a crate together, without their diapers, on a grid, so their pee/poop goes under them, and they aren't sitting in it. In the mornings, they eat in their crate, then about 30 min after eating, I put their diapers on them and they come out for the day. I usually only change them one time throughout the day. Then, at night, I remove their diapers and put them back in their crates to eat dinner, and they are perfectly content to go to bed and rest for the remainder of the night. They love to go outside on nice days and explore the yard, but it should be noted that as English Bulldogs, they should never be allowed to stay outside on warm days due to their increased risk for heat stroke. They love being picked up and held or just talked to. They are very affectionate, but not at all demanding. They must be adopted together and stay together. Before applying, please think about whether you will want to deal with diapers on 2 dogs for the next 10+ years. While they are very easy, it is still a major commitment, and I don't want them to ever be separated or booted outside due to their adopter getting frustrated. So please put a lot of thought into whether you are ready for that kind of commitment. They are not free, nor will they be a deeply discounted adoption. Even though they have Spina Bifida, they are still wonderful, and I want them to go to someone who knows their worth and will love them, diapers and all. They are special to me and can stay here with me for however long it takes to find them the perfect home. Please private message for info on the adoption fee. They are up to date on vaccinations and I have had them spayed and microchipped.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
Dog:Tootsie Age:9-12 Months Weight: 45 Location: Newtown, PA Nicknames: Toots, T, Tutti-frutti, Tootsie Roll, Grandma Ethel Good with other dogs?: Yes.Tootsie is dog friendly and loves to play with other dogs. She can play a bit rough, and can be a bit mouthy, which some dogs may not appreciate. Good with cats? yes Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Needs a couple walks a day., Needs in-house activities IQ: Smart Tootsie's favorite things: Tootsie is a sweet and funny dog. She enjoys taking walks and the ability to run off leash and at times get the zoomies. She is quite inquisitive and loves to smell and discover new places. She enjoys car rides and getting out of the house. She loves balls of all sizes and will often play with a full-size soccer-ball. Tootsie is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, playing Ideal home: another dog, no children, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, Lots of exercise opportunities Training Needs: socialization with dogs, needs obedience training Health issues: Tootsie is thought to have albinism and is deaf due to this trait. Due to her hearing impairment, her foster family has been teaching her sign language for basic commands (sit, stay, come, etc.) She also wears a vibrating collar which she has been trained to follow for recall when she cannot see her family. She is quite independent and just beginning to learn rules. Training will require consistent reinforcement and her forever home must be ready to work with her on a regular basis to keep these skills. In addition, she must go to a home with a fence to ensure she cannot wander away, as she cannot hear cars or other dangers. Meet Tootsie Tootsie is a fun loving, goofy, sweet and independent girl who would be great addition to home that will continue to work with her training to help with her special needs. There are some great benefits to having a deaf dog- vacuuming is not scary, play drums or guitar?- no problem for her, live by a fire/ police-department- she doesn't hear it, use lots of loud equipment- she'll never know! However, having a deaf dog comes with its challenges too- they don't come when you call them! Tootsie loves to run free in a yard, discover new things and curl up on a bed or couch. She loves toys and is constantly bringing her collection into her crate. She is house-broken and will let you know when she needs to go out. She looks a bit goofy, but has a big heart and is just waiting to find her new family willing to give this special girl some love. Food being given: RAW food diet only: OG, Steves, other raw food=beef, turkey or fish       PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Age:aprox. 4-5 Weight: 50 Location: New Hope, PA Nicknames: Winnie Good with other dogs?: No, must live as only dog but is safe with other dogs away from home. The girl just loves herself and wants to be the only 4 legged worshipped by everyone. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow IQ: Smart Winter's favorite things: We pulled Winnie from the shelter knowing that she was giving them a difficult time cleaning her up for daily bulldog stuff and getting her eye drops for dry eye. NOW in her foster home she LOVES ear cleaning time, can't wait to throw herself on the ground for her eye drops and loves wipe downs and nose butter! Winter is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, cuddling Ideal home: a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with dogs Health issues: dry eye. Needs drops 2x a day. Meet Winter We thought we were taking a risk when we pulled Winter because she was having a hard time with grooming/handling but in her foster home she can't wait to be pampered! She is such a funny and sweet girl. We still don't think that she is dog aggressive but she does love all of the attention to be on her. She is sweet and animated. This girl loves to run everywhere, a slow run but always trotting over to say "LOVE ME" She has so much personality!     To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application.
