Story
Shadow is a beautiful and athletic 1 year old English Shepherd. He is affectionate, potty trained, loves being around the kids, and up to date with shots. He does bark a lot at strangers and needs training in socializing. He does great with our old dog and cat but not good with any other animals outside the home. I do not recommend him for a family that already has a dog for this reason, I think he would possibly be fine with a female dog though. unfortunately, he herds the children and I’m not able to afford the training he needs. I pray someone will love him and work with him! He is a great companion and loyal friend.

Story
Animal Profile: Carrot is a now 1-year-old 40 lb spayed female that we think is predominantly Kelpie. She was acquired by a family for their autistic child as a service dog. They soon realized they didn't have the financial or other capability for necessary training and surrendered her to the rural Los Banos shelter, where she was euthanasia listed for space. She was assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. Foster Update: Carrot is a sweet girl with typical puppy energy. She's very friendly when meeting new people and other dogs. She has high energy and loves to zoom around the yard with her bigger dog friend. This girl also loves to hike and explore! She recently did an over 10-mile hike and loves long walks, 5-7 miles, in the city and in parks or on trails. She likes her toys - especially her namesake carrot stuffy - and takes care not to destroy them; when excited, she is learning to redirect by placing a ball or a “chew” toy in her mouth. She is improving with walking on a leash, but remains very interested in the world around her so needs encouragement to focus on the task at hand. She is potty trained, her recall is coming along, and her crate training is much improved, though she still prefers to have her people in the room with her while in her crate. When she's out of the crate she likes to be near her humans and will lie down or play with one of her toys; she's surprisingly calm inside. She has not been evaluated with cats or kids. Carrot will do best in a family that is home most of the day or can bring her along with them, has a dog playmate that can match her energy, and is able to continue to provide stability, love, and training to help her be her best self. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Los Banos shelter where she was euth listed for space. She arrived to foster care in Seattle on 5/21. May 8, 2024, 6:33 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Nellie is an estimated 14-18 month old, 55 lb spayed female mixed breed (possibly border collie and shepherd) who was found as a stray in TX and taken in by our rescue partners. She is very social, friendly, playful with dogs, and good in the crate -- but loves to be with her humans. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Nellie is a lovely young dog who is a wee bit nervous and could use help building her confidence. She has not been tested with cats or kids and because she can be nervous we don't recommend either while she's working on building her confidence,She is friendly and playful with other dogs once she warms up to them after slow introductions -- it can take a few days and multiple playdates. We are working on teaching her the Place and Out commands to curb resource guarding, as well as other exercises to build her confidence and calmness-- she is not aggressive with other dogs but does bark warnings to stay away from "her stuff".She loves, loves, loves being outside and is good on leash with very little pulling. Nellie is great in a car and ready for adventure-- she will be a great hiking/running buddy! She is a hard chewer, so will need harder toys. She has a cute little habit of stealing socks and hiding them in her crate-- she doesn't destroy them, she just likes to collect them. :) Inside the house she is low energy, but is always easy for a hike or bike ride or any other active adventure! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Nellie was transferred from Saving Shelter Strays in Texas arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/8/24. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. May 8, 2024, 6:33 pm

Melody is to music what a scent is to the senses. According to Wikipedia the true goal of music—its proper enterprise—is melody and with your rhythm and lyrics added to my melody we can make beautiful music...together!! I'm around 2 years of age, that perfectly pawsome age where I'm out of the puppy destructive stage but still playfully active and ready for...everything from leisurely strolls to action packed adventures. I'm looking forward to dancing the night (or day is fine too) away to the music we'll be making! I come in at just 54lbs of pure love!! 54lbs of sweetness, 54lbs of doggie adoration, 54lbs of turning you to a pile of goo with my loving puppy dog eyes. What a great size for all our said music making!! I love people and get on well with the other doggies here. I would do good having a playful 'sibling' or getting all the attention as your one and only and I'm also already house trained which makes me a great candidate to become a fantastic family member where we can start making that music together, beautiful!!
