Scared to death we took refuge in an abandoned house to try to brave the elements. Some neighbors noticed us and came to give us food and water and they called this wonderful rescue. The first few months of my young life was not so great, but I'm learning. I'm learning that not all people are bad and that pets and kind words are kinda really nice. I is now ready to start this next chapter in life with a family that will have lots of patience, treats and gentle pets so I can give back lots of puppy kisses and tail wags!! I'm just a baby yet at only around 5months. I am a tad bit shy but I does have a really sweet nature that does love to run around and play with toys and my siblings, so to set me up for success I will need a quieter home without smaller children (I should do ok with older kiddos) but that has a playful '4 legged sibling' for me to follow around and take my ques from. I do really well with the other foster pups here at the rescue from the big ones to the small ones. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of those creatures y'all call a cat yet but with proper introductions at my young age, I should do fine with them too! Mom's DNA was tested and is an Aussie/Border Collie/ Pyrenees mix and dad was a traveling salespup sweet talking his way through town! I will probably be around 50 - 60 lb area when I get myself fully growed up. I want to be sooooo ready to be that lil heartbeat at your feet, and with a little time and a lot of love, I know I'll be there. Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle, 1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle. He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly, but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4 week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with his day care owners, and doing well there. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Ralphie! He is a 4.5-year-old, 50lb, Border Collie/Pittie mix. This boy is just a hunk of love and look at that adorable smile!. He is sweet, fun loving and a playful boy! He would love his forever home to be an active family who would take him for walks and on adventures. Ralphie will thrive in a home that can continue basic obedience with him. Ralphie can do well with other dogs, and we will want to meet the other dogs in his forever home to make sure it’s a great fit! We do not think he would do well with a dominant male, but neutral dogs 35lbs and up ok! Ralphie can be a bit of an escape artist so he will need a free-standing home with a securely fenced yard in suburban or rural neighborhood. Animal Profile: Miles is an approximately 10 month old 25lb mixed breed, young active happy bouncy playful dog with lots of personality. He was euth listed after three days due to space constraints and kennel stress. He has done better with a kennel mate; they enjoy each others company! Miles is very cute, smiley dog and loves people and giving kisses. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Miles is a super fun boy who loves people and other dogs! He still has a lot of puppy/teenager energy but that's mostly with comings and goings and meeting new people. He thinks everyone is his new best friend. That being said, he settles quickly and easily and loves to sleep on the floor near my feet or come up on the couch and cuddle when he's invited. Crate training is a work in progress, as he prefers to be with his people, but is able to sleep through the night in his crate. He stole the hearts of everyone at the vet yesterday for his neuter and makes friends wherever he goes. Miles would love a home with another playful dog, but would do fine with an active family willing to give him plenty of exercise. Animal Profile: Russel is a 8.5 week old Terrier X puppy who joined us with his 3 siblings on 12/16/2024 via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. The puppies, along with mom, were living under an abandoned trailer and were picked by our rescue partner Saving Shelter Strays. They are currently in a foster home waiting for their freedom ride to the PNW to find their forever homes. Foster Update: Baby Russell is a chaotic good boi. A natural comedian, he does everything--from playing to cuddling to sleeping--with unbridled enthusiasm. Russell has abundant energy, loves fetch and toys, and is looking for a home with at least one other playful dog and a large, fenced yard. We expect him to be quite a big, strong boy when fully grown, so a dog-savvy home who can teach him good ways to channel is energy is ideal. Good with dogs, cats, horses, and people, Russell can initially be shy with new friends but warms up and absolutely adores his people and fur siblings. He has striking eyes and markings and the softest, smooshy face. His antics make us laugh every day. Russell is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and would excel at dog sports.
