WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Bruno – Your Built-In Best Friend & Adventure Buddy! Bruno is a 5-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix (best guess) weighing in at around 30lbs pounds and expected to be around 45–50 pounds once fully grown – the perfect medium size for tagging along on everything from your coffee run to weekend hiking adventures! This handsome pup is a sweet mix of playful curiosity and tender shyness. While he loves to romp and wrestle with his siblings, he’s also more reserved with new people and takes a little time to warm up. Once he feels safe, though, his loving personality shines through — complete with a silly little growl/howl when he wants to “talk.” Bruno has built up quite the resume: 🐾 Playful with his siblings and curious about the world 🐾 A little shy with new people but very sweet once he trusts you 🐾 Great with other dogs 🐾 Loves people of all sizes 🐾 Hasn’t met cats yet, but at his age should do fine with a proper intro 🐾 Soft, glossy coat that gleams in the sunshine Bruno is soaking up the world like a little sponge, learning new things every day, and wants to be doing it all right by your side. With his big heart, soulful eyes, and goofy pup charm, he’s ready to leap into your heart — and maybe onto your couch after a long day of play. Bruno isn’t just looking for a home… he’s looking for his person. Could it be you? Apply at haydudeequine.org for that furry best friend you didn't even know you needed!!

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with his day care owners, and doing well there. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  September 19, 2025, 2:47 pm

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Enzo! Enzo is a 5-year-old, 30 LB Border Collie/McNab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He’s an incredibly sweet, loving boy who is as smart as they come! Enzo is active and playful—fetch is one of his favorite games—and he still has plenty of spunk and energy for adventures. He knows several commands, including sit, down, shake, roll over, and spin, and he’s eager to learn more! This smart pup isn’t just looking for physical exercise; he’ll need an adopter who understands herding breeds and can provide him with the mental stimulation and ongoing training he craves. Enzo does well with other dogs, loves his people, and would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run, play, and just be his happy, active self. He would love an adventurous family who will take him on hikes, outings, and keep his mind and body busy. If you’re looking for a brilliant, affectionate, and fun companion—and you have herding breed experience—Enzo is ready to be your loyal adventure buddy! Enzo is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450. He is house trained, and crate trained. He would do best in a home without cats.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Fenton! 💙 Fenton is a 5-year-old, 47 LB Border Collie who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is now ready to start his next chapter here in WA. This sweet, loving, and incredibly smart boy has quickly won over our hearts. He walks well on leash, has a happy, confident presence, and greets life—and new friends—with a wagging tail and playful spirit! Fenton has done great with every dog he’s met and enjoys playful interactions. He’d be happy as an only dog as long as his adopters are proactive about keeping him socialized. He’d also be thrilled to join a home with another friendly pup as a full-time companion. As a typical Border Collie, Fenton is intelligent, eager to please, and thrives on mental and physical activity. He’d love an active home that will include him in hiking, outings, and adventures—but he’s also perfectly content to curl up and relax after a full day. He arrived underweight and with a leg injury, but he’s been receiving the care he needs and is already on the mend. His adopter will need to continue supporting his journey back to full strength—helping him build healthy weight, muscle tone, and giving his leg the time and support it needs to heal completely. Fenton would do best with a home that has herding breed experience and understands the needs of a smart, active dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-rounded adventure buddy, Fenton might just be the one for you! Fenton is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Animal Profile: Evie is an estimated 5-month-old female Cattle Dog mix (best guess) who we believe will be medium/large size when full grown. She was picked up as a stray and brought to the Caddo Parish shelter. She was in a temporary foster home in LA where she got some TLC while waiting for transport via Tail Lights Rescue Project to the PNW. We will share more about her as we get to know her a bit better in the Seattle area. Foster Update:  Herding dog lovers or hiking enthusiasts, this is the dog for you. This girl is a darling and she would love a confident, balanced fur sibling to help her build her confidence and show her the ropes!  Evie is a sweet and playful cattle dog mix. She is friendly and loves people and other dogs. She holds her own playing with my 60-pound pitbull who is also a big softie. She was sweet and gentle when being introduced to the cat and even tried to play with him, but also listened to the cat when he wanted her to back off.   Evie is doing well with potty training and is working on sit and stay. She is full of love and affection and will definitely bond with any human who is lucky enough to adopt her! If you are looking for your next adventure buddy, this is your girl. Breed experience preferred, kids 12+ considered. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arriving to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on September 15th, 2025. This dog will be available for adoption to the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. October 7, 2025, 12:25 am

Story
Animal Profile: Luna is a now 3-year-old, 40 lb Cattle Dog mix who originally joined our rescue from Texas as a 9-week-old puppy (fka Dory) and was adopted by her foster family. Over three years later, she is coming back to rescue as her family is moving to Germany and cannot take her with them. Luna is super social and friendly with dogs of all sizes and is currently housed with cats (they're fun!) without any aggression. Luna has some noise phobias and will need some confidence building and exposure training, but is otherwise well behaved -- house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, and loves to run and play chase with other dogs. She plays very nicely.   Foster Update: 9-30-25  Luna is doing better and better! She can relax and enjoy quiet neighborhood walks and trail and park walks. She did great on our hikes! On busy city streets, she's still anxious (she pants) but will cooperate with the leash. She's good with dogs as long as we're all walking, but she may bark when we're staying still and other objects (dog, toddlers) approach us. She has minor resource guarding when she’s eating and another dog come close, but humans are no threat.  Luna loves me and my husband equally and knows sit, down, and not rushing through doors. She has 3-year-old dog playful energy but settles herself on her bed or in her crate without seeking attention all the time. On the other hand, she loves cuddling when invited to do so. She's done great on the many car rides we've take her on too. We've left her in her car crate while we've done errands and she just naps and wait. I think Luna could use a family who lives in a quieter area and has an outdoor lifestyle. Exercise in nature really helps her lower her stress level and do better at handling challenging, noisy environments when needed. She could be the solo dog or with another confident dog.  Earlier updates: Luna has truly transformed in foster care. While she can be a little nervous around loud noises, she looks to her person for guidance and is able to recover quickly from any startling sounds. Luna has learned to walk politely in a heel on leash, and with her excellent crate and car manners, she has been able to join her foster family on adventures including hiking, camping, and beach outings. She will be happiest in a home with another dog who can help show her the way, but she could also thrive as an only dog with an owner committed to continuing her current training. Luna knows several commands including crate, sit, stay, down, place, and heel. She is friendly when meeting new people and loves to play with other dogs. We have loved watching her blossom and open up since returning to rescue. Now she is ready for a family of her own! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: She was found with her sibling as a young puppy wandering as a stray in rural Texas, picked up by Animal Control and transferred to our rescue partner AARC Del Rio. They were transferred to DGS arriving to foster care on 07/13/22. She was adopted by her foster, who reached out to surrender in August 2025 as the family was moving to Germany and could not bring her along. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. October 8, 2025, 10:57 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Beethoven (hearing impaired like his namesake), or Thoven for short, is an estimated 3.5-year-old, 40 lb neutered male mixed breed -- possibly terrier aussie mix -- who was a stray intake to the Caddo Parish Shelter in Louisiana and was assessed to be friendly, social and outgoing with everyone. He has a coat made for the PNW! This boy was used for dog testing because he is neutral or friendly with everyone. We will share more info once we get to know him in foster care.   Foster Update: Beethoven can't hear but he is a top-level snuggle buddy and goofy boy who is house trained, crate trained, and friendly with other dogs. He's also done okay with cats. He'll do best with a dog buddy in his home. He is prone to anxiety without proper leadership, so an experienced dog owner who can provide training and help him be his best self is needed. Thoven has nice leash manners and is non-destructive in the house.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Louisiana and arrived to Seattle area via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 08/08//2023. He was adopted and then returned about a year later due to not being a good fit in his home (single man no other dogs in an apartment). He is currently in foster care in North Bend and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. September 19, 2025, 2:47 pm
