Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Say hello to Bosco! He is a ~4 yo, 60lb, Border Collie/Akita mix. (Our best guess to his breeds, but he could have other breeds as well!) Bosco came to us from CA, in search of his forever family. While we are still getting to know Bosco, so far, he has been is a loving and sweet boy. He has been friendly to all people he meets, and enjoys affection! He is smart and loves treats, which makes training fun and engaging. Overall, he is a happy boy that will enjoy a family that is active with him, spoils him with love, and can continue basic training to help him grow into the best dog he can be! Bosco is active and loves going for walks and being outdoors, he would make a great adventure companion! We are still getting to know Bosco’s behavior with other dogs. He has done well with some dogs (usually calmer females), but some high energy/dominant males can make him a little nervous. He will do great in a home that can continue to help him decompress, as the kennel environment can greatly affect stress and how dogs interact with other dogs. Bosco can be an escape artist, and should have a secure yard in his forever home, and while getting to know him, should not be left outdoors alone. He just wants to be with his people! This handsome boy is sweet, goofy, spunky, and absolutely full of energy! He’s an athletic young dog who is ready to find a family that can keep up with him and help him become the best version of himself. Zydeco is incredibly smart and can go a long way with the right training. He’s eager to learn and would thrive with someone who enjoys working with their dog and is ready to continue building his obedience, impulse control, and manners. He walks well on leash overall, although he can be strong when something exciting catches his attention—especially squirrels! He can also still be mouthy and barky when excited, so he’ll need a confident handler who understands energetic, working-type dogs and is willing to put in the time and consistency he needs. I’m Rio, and I’m looking for a safe place to land and a person who will show me just how wonderful life can be. ❤️🐾 My story is a little heartbreaking. My owner passed away, leaving me behind with my six puppies. Thankfully, some kind neighbors stepped up to care for us until Hay Dude Rescue could take us in. I’ve spent my time being a mama, looking out for my babies, and doing my best to survive. Now it’s finally MY turn to be taken care of. I’m about 2 years old and weigh around 55 pounds, which makes me a perfectly sized companion for someone looking for a medium-sized best friend. I’m a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, but I’ll be honest with you: I’m a little shy when meeting new people. I’ve spent time as a street dog, and when you’re trying to survive and protect six little puppies, you learn to be cautious about the world around you. I’m not an aggressive girl; I just need a little time to figure out that you’re one of the good ones. I do best when people let me approach at my own pace instead of expecting me to be best friends five seconds after meeting. I'm Dixie, and I'm looking for my very own forever family! My story started with a heartbreaking chapter. My human passed away, leaving my mama and all six of us puppies behind. Thankfully, we got our chance at a fresh start, and now I'm ready to find the family I've been waiting for. We think I'm an Australian Shepherd x Cattle Dog mix, which means I may have inherited some serious smarts along with my good looks. And speaking of looks — have you noticed my eyes? I've got one of those gorgeous blue-eyed looks that makes people stop scrolling and say, "Well, would you look at HER!" I reckon I was born knowing how to work the camera! I'm the largest girl in my litter, but I'm also a little more laid-back than some of my siblings. While they're busy auditioning for the Puppy Olympics, I'm perfectly happy taking things at a slightly more relaxed pace. Animal Information: Sassy is a 1-year-old petite girl weighing about 40 lbs. Our rescue partners described her as a “Walmart greeter” because she is happy to meet every person and dog she comes across. Sassy was found in a small rural area of about 2,000 people east of Tulsa, and sadly no one came looking for her. She’s an energetic girl who also knows how to settle down and chill. She loves playing with stuffed animals and, when it’s time to relax, she’ll lean right into you for attention. Sassy is a sweet, social girl who would love a family that enjoys having a fun, happy dog around. Foster Profile: Sassy LOVES People! She also gets along great with foster's resident dog and loves to jump and wrestle with him. She loves playing with other dogs and would love to have a balanced canine companion in her forever home. While she would do awesome on hikes and loves playtime, she also loves to snuggle and relax after a good session of exercise. She sleeps through the night in her crate with no problem and while she might get some FOMO when in crate when you are home, she quickly settles down. Sassy will need some leash work as she is a puller, but we are working on that! She likes to play fetch with a tennis ball and enjoys chewing on semi soft toys as well. She knows "sit" and "drop it". She is a young, smart,  eager to please and learn girl who will benefit from continued play and training-- she's a keeper!
