Story
Disclaimer: I'm currently soaking up the Texas sun, but the great news is that I can be transported to my forever home once adopted, and the transport fee is $230.My journey began when I was surrendered, along with my four precious puppies, because my family couldn't provide the care I needed. I'm a bundle of energy and an incredible jumper! My foster mom thinks I have all the potential to excel in agility training courses. While I absolutely adore the company of other dogs, I'm not a fan of being on my own, so a home with a calmer dog would be a perfect fit to help me settle. I'm a social butterfly who cherishes my human companions and still carries that puppy-like spirit in my heart. In my previous home, I was raised alongside three children, aged 8 to 16, so I'm sure to thrive in an energetic family environment. If you're looking for a furry friend who's ready to embark on adventures with you, look no further. Apply today and let's make a fantastic team!*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Animal Profile: Nellie is an estimated 14-18 month old, 55 lb spayed female mixed breed (possibly border collie and shepherd) who was found as a stray in TX and taken in by our rescue partners. She is very social, friendly, playful with dogs, and good in the crate -- but loves to be with her humans. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Nellie is a lovely young dog who is a wee bit nervous and could use help building her confidence. She has not been tested with cats or kids and because she can be nervous we don't recommend either while she's working on building her confidence,She is friendly and playful with other dogs once she warms up to them after slow introductions -- it can take a few days and multiple playdates. We are working on teaching her the Place and Out commands to curb resource guarding, as well as other exercises to build her confidence and calmness-- she is not aggressive with other dogs but does bark warnings to stay away from "her stuff".She loves, loves, loves being outside and is good on leash with very little pulling. Nellie is great in a car and ready for adventure-- she will be a great hiking/running buddy! She is a hard chewer, so will need harder toys. She has a cute little habit of stealing socks and hiding them in her crate-- she doesn't destroy them, she just likes to collect them. :) Inside the house she is low energy, but is always easy for a hike or bike ride or any other active adventure! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Nellie was transferred from Saving Shelter Strays in Texas arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/8/24. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Kendall is an a 4 month old Border Collie puppy who joined us along with her sister from Texas on 4/14. She was given to our rescue from a "Border Collie breeder", most likely because she was 4 months old so a bit past easy sale age. She and her sister were in a foster home in Texas while waiting for their freedom ride to the PNW. We will add more information as we get it.  Foster Update: Kendall can be a little shy at first when meeting new people but she opens up quickly though, and absolutely loves snuggles, attention, and pets. She is an active puppy, but likes to have quite relaxing moments. She is extremely intelligent. At her young age she is crate trained, potty trained. She learned to walk in her crate on her own, without any training, just because she realized that's what's expected from her sometimes. She is food motivated, and eats her meals with a good appetite.  Despite her young age she sleeps through the night without a need to be taken outside, and also lets us know when she needs to go potty. Kendall is an extremely bright puppy, and also an absolute sweetheart. She is friendly with dogs, and gets along great with all: young, old, small and large, active and mellow. Her favorite playmates are younger puppies, or dogs that have puppy energy and playstyle. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from  Animal Advocacy & Rescue our partner in Del Rio Texas and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 04/15/2024 to the Seattle area. We have puppy cuteness overload here with the Harry Potter litter!! They will soon be 8 weeks (4/30/24) and ready for their very own home full of magic and so many firsts! My name is Harry and me and my siblings were born 3/04/24. As with your typical puppy we are a tad shy at first of the unknown but we don't let that overcome our curiosity, we just need a moment. We have been socialized with kids and other foster pups although we have not met any cats yet but at our tender age we should do just fine if introduced properly. Full of curiously exploring the big ole world around us, playing with our siblings, eating, napping and cuddle time...we have the world by the tail making us ready to tackle the next chapter in our adventure...a home and family of our own!! Mom is a Border Collie/Mt Cur mix that comes in at around 30ish lbs and dad was anyone's best guess. We should be a nice mediumish size when we get fully growed up. Are you looking for a little magic in your life? Would you like to share so many of my firsts with me? Are you in need of a BFF that will be by your side through it all? Oh my, you're in luck, that'd be ME!!! This precious family includes Molly(mom), Harry, Ron, Dobby, James, Luna, Minerva, Hermione and Lily

Story
Requires: -Herding breed experienced home -Large fenced yard outside the city -Another playful dog in the home her size or larger Keira is a 2 year old, 50lb Border Collie who is looking for her perfect home. She takes a while to trust, but is loyal to her people once she does. Keira is fearful of people and does not easily trust. She can be skittish and is a flight risk if not contained properly. She will build trust with her people after a period of time spent together and trust building, but she is not a ‘people’ dog with new people. She is definitely a dog's dog. She prefers to be with her dog friends and spends her days out in a play yard with 5-7 other dogs. Keira will need a home that understands and is ok with the fact she is not a super lovey dog that will want human attention all the time. Keira will do best in an adult only home that is patient in building her trust and ok with her being aloof and doing her own thing at times. She is well mannered and does great hanging out in a fenced yard with her dog friends. She is super active and loves to run around in her current large play yard with other dogs. Keira will thrive in a home with a large fenced yard outside of the city. She is not an apartment/condo/townhome dog. Keira requires at least one other dog around her size in the home, and herding breed experience. She would thrive in a more rural setting with a large fenced yard. Keira is UTD on shots, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
Animal Profile: Carrot is a now 1-year-old 40 lb spayed female that we think is predominantly Kelpie. She was acquired by a family for their autistic child as a service dog. They soon realized they didn't have the financial or other capability for necessary training and surrendered her to the rural Los Banos shelter, where she was euthanasia listed for space. She was assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. Foster Update: Carrot is a sweet girl with typical puppy energy. She's very friendly when meeting new people and other dogs. She has high energy and loves to zoom around the yard with her bigger dog friend. This girl also loves to hike and explore! She recently did an over 10-mile hike and loves long walks, 5-7 miles, in the city and in parks or on trails. She likes her toys - especially her namesake carrot stuffy - and takes care not to destroy them; when excited, she is learning to redirect by placing a ball or a “chew” toy in her mouth. She is improving with walking on a leash, but remains very interested in the world around her so needs encouragement to focus on the task at hand. She is potty trained, her recall is coming along, and her crate training is much improved, though she still prefers to have her people in the room with her while in her crate. When she's out of the crate she likes to be near her humans and will lie down or play with one of her toys; she's surprisingly calm inside. She has not been evaluated with cats or kids. Carrot will do best in a family that is home most of the day or can bring her along with them, has a dog playmate that can match her energy, and is able to continue to provide stability, love, and training to help her be her best self. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Los Banos shelter where she was euth listed for space. She arrived to foster care in Seattle on 5/21. April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm
