Story

Animal Information: Max is an almost 9month old Australian Shepherd mix puppy currently. Max was confiscated after being found with multiple broken ribs from a suspected animal abuse case. Even with this rough start, Max appears to be a pretty normal puppy. He is a bit scared of loud noises. We are so happy to be bringing Max to the Seattle area in search of his forever family. Foster Profile: Max has been part of our family for the past four months, and he has been an absolute joy to foster. He's the kind of dog who settles in quickly, loves his people, and would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. We welcomed Max when he was about 3 months old, and he immediately became a full member of our two-dog household. He gets along wonderfully with our resident dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. Like any young pup, Max is curious and enjoys exploring, but he also has an easygoing personality that makes him a pleasure to have around. For such a young dog, Max has excellent house manners. He is fully potty trained and hasn't had a single accident in the house in over five months. He's comfortable in his crate and can happily relax for a few hours with a favorite bone while you're away. Max walks nicely on leash, has good recall, and naturally likes to stay close to his people. While he still has playful puppy moments, he's surprisingly calm and enjoys spending much of the day relaxing. A daily walk and some playtime seem to suit him just fine—he doesn't appear to be a dog who needs endless exercise to be happy. One of our favorite things about Max is his affectionate morning routine. He loves to wake us up with sweet puppy kisses, and while we enjoy our morning coffee, he'll happily curl up beside us, soaking up all the pets and snuggles he can get. It's the perfect way to start the day and a wonderful glimpse into what a loving companion he is. Max has that rare "off switch" everyone hopes for in a young dog, he enjoys his playtime but is just as happy to settle in and relax with his family. We think Max would thrive with a family or a single adopter looking for a loyal, easygoing companion. He would do well in a home with teenage children and would likely fit in with other friendly dogs, as he's done so well with ours. Max is truly a special pup with a wonderful balance of playful, affectionate, and relaxed. He's the kind of dog who will happily join you on a walk, then come home and spend the afternoon by your side. We can't wait for him to find the loving forever home he deserves. Draco is a very affectionate and bubbly dog. He is a 3 year old adventure dog who loves going on walks and does amazing playing fetch outside! He does best as a family dog, I am a single dog owner with a busy schedule. Having a dog like Draco has been a blessing but I believe he would do great with lots of love and attention! Animal Information: Venus is a female German Shepherd/Malinois mix. Venus is the roman goddess of love. She was found as a stray with her mom and 9 siblings. She had been at the Devore animal shelter for 2 weeks and was on the euth list due to space. Thanks to a Seattle area foster stepping up to take the family in, they were all saved. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, loyal, and incredibly smart best friend, Venus might be your girl. She is very connected to her people, eager to learn, and already knows sit, down, shake, spin, and place (mat). She is currently working on roll over. She is very food motivated and thrives with guidance and consistency. Venus does best in a calm, predictable environment. When things get too busy, she can feel overwhelmed, but she’s learning to manage her impulses and settle. She’s dog-friendly, adventurous, and a confident pup. She is potty trained and crate trained, although she prefers not to be crated when people are home. She’d much rather be part of the action. Venus isn’t very snuggly and is still a very mouthy puppy. With her sharp teeth, she may nip while learning boundaries, so any home with kids should be comfortable with typical puppy behavior. Animal Profile: Rusty is a 1.8 year Aussie/Cattle dog mix dogs who joined us via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. She was found walking down the street in an area with no houses close by and no one came to the shelter to claim her. Foster Update: Rusty is a bright, beautiful, and loving puppy. She is so smart and curious. The outdoors is her favorite place, even when she's tired, she just wants to take a nap out in the yard (unless it's raining, then she's perfectly happy to be indoors). She is pretty shy and is working on her confidence outside of her foster home/yard, but she's made great strides, especially when she realized there are stores specifically for dogs that will give her treats when she goes in! She also loves other dogs and playing with her foster brothers. She's very smart and can get bored easily, but she learns very quickly, and she takes cues from her foster brothers to figure out what she should be doing. Story

Kylo is seriously the best dog ever. He’s got an amazingly chill temperament for an Aussie and is really chill. He’s great on walks and I walk him off leash most of the time. Loves outdoors, hikes, water etc. (he is pretty lazy and gets pretty pooped after like 3 miles). He’s generally great with other dogs when he meets them and has only been aggressive with other dogs around his food. (He will growl trying to protect it). We unfortunately have to rehome him because of our toddler. He just plays too rough with kids and we can’t risk him hurting her, other small kids, or future kids we will have. He tends to “heard” small kids which is his instinct, but that sometimes involves nipping at their ankles. I probably would not recommend him to anyone with young kids. Besides that he’s literally the perfect dog. We are SO sad to even be considering this but feel we have to.

Luna is 6 years old and is a great dog. She's extremely smart, goofy, and is a great walker on and off leash. It's been a while but she's crate trained. We're looking to rehome because despite training for the last year she has been really anxious since our toddler started crawling. She isn't happy and her living situation is not fair for her because there's nothing we can remove from the situation to improve if for her. We made the very hard decision to let her go to a family with older kids. We have another dog that is a senior, and Luna has been attached to her since we brought her home as a puppy. That said, when we've been at the dog park she's neutral with other dogs as long as they don't try to get physical with her. We haven't introduced her face to face with other dogs since we don't have other people in our lives with other dogs. She is not aggressive but she has become reactive since her anxiety started. I'm convinced once she can relax again and be happy that'll go away.

Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well.
