Meet Bernie – A Shy Teddy Bear with a Heart of Gold
If you’re looking for a gentle soul wrapped in soft fur, Bernie might just be your perfect match. This sweet boy can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a bit of time and patience, and you’ll soon discover his true personality — a warm, snuggly teddy bear who will happily melt into your heart.
Once Bernie feels safe, his affectionate side shines. He adores quiet moments spent getting chin scritches, or simply lounging beside you as the world drifts by. Outside, Bernie’s happiest with his nose to the ground, taking in all the wonderful smells nature has to offer. Whether it’s a leisurely walk or a sunny afternoon soaking up fresh air, Bernie finds joy in life’s peaceful moments.
This clever pup already has excellent manners — he’s potty trained, crate trained, knows his name, and has solid leash skills. He’s also eager to learn and would love to continue growing with a patient family who enjoys gentle training sessions (and plenty of treats — he’s quite the cookie connoisseur!).
Bernie would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can take his time to settle in and feel secure. He’d also be perfectly happy sharing his space with a friendly canine companion who can show him the ropes.

Bernie is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
