Story
We adopted Lily six years ago from a rescue, already an adult, so her exact age is unknown. She’s a sweet, affectionate dog who loves attention and being petted. Mealtimes are her favorite part of the day (twice daily), and she’ll make sure you don’t forget. Lily enjoys playing tug with her toys and is impressively well-behaved—she sticks to her toys and doesn’t chew on anything else. She’s a loyal companion who wants to be by your side and generally gets along well with people, though she has a strong dislike for our housekeeper and needs to be kenneled during those visits. Thunderstorms scare her, and she’ll seek comfort close to you; on rare occasions, she’s had accidents indoors during storms. While she’s excited about walks, her hips limit her to short distances—about one block—though she doesn’t require pain medication. She does take daily seizure medication, which costs around $20 per month. If wanted Lily can bring her food bowl and more equippment.

Clara was impounded as a stray. She takes a little bit to warm up to strangers but will melt in your lap after she gets to know you. She is full grown at this point and is healthy. Walks decently well on a leash. No known medical issues.NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. We recommend that each adopted animal get a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption. August 25, 2024, 12:11 am

Sweet Penny is a beautiful girl who loves to play ball and go on walks, and she&#39s super good on the leash! She won&#39t even run off when you let the leash drop! When she gets home she&#39s ready to snuggle all day with you! Penny is crate trained, but she can be left on her own and does great. She is dog friendly. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and taking heart worm preventative. She needs loving home, OR a hero to foster her until her true home can be found! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Wacha is a 5 year old pittie mix, weighing in at about 50 lbs. She&#39s spayed, house broken and potty trained; extremely playful, affectionate and cuddly! Wacha is an active, athletic girl that will be best paired with a family who provides the physical activity she so enjoys! Maybe introduce her to &#34dog sports&#34 like agility, nose-work, or just a running partner. Wacha doesn&#39t appreciate cats, and can be &#34dog selective&#34. A home with small children wouldn&#39t be good because of their unpredictability, but she loves older children and adults. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
