Story
There would be an agreement and refundable fee of $100 to make sure that Tuna gets fixed within a month of adoption. She is not to be used for breeding. Tuna is a very sweet, loyal dog once she feels safe. She is nervous around new people and animals, and she shows that by barking, growling, and raising her hackles. She will usually hide behind me or stand between me and what scares her. She has never bitten anyone. She does wear a muzzle at the vet. She needs someone experienced with anxious or reactive dogs who can give her slow introductions to a calm environment. With her people, she is incredibly gentle and loving. She's honestly just the sweetest dog with the biggest heart. She just needs someone to give her a chance.

Hello! My name`s Putter from the golf litter! I was adopted as a puppy and returned to the shelter at 6 years old in May 2023 when my humans had a baby. I`m looking for a nice cozy home to retire in! I am an American Bulldog/Retriever mix weighing around 62lbs. I am a sweet, smart dog who is considered medium/low energy. My favorite things include cuddling, car rides, walks, and playtime! Everyone tells me that I`m the goofiest dog in the rescue and everyone adores my play growl, play hops, and play bows! I`m also told that I walk fantastic on a leash and have wonderful manners where I don`t pull. I know to do my business outside and will even sit by the door to alert my owners that I need to go. I don`t mind the crate and I can be trusted outside of the crate as well. I don`t chew up stuff I`m not supposed to either! I also know basic commands such as sit, paw, other paw, lay down, and roll over!I’ve been working on my socializing skills & can do good around kids in public, but I’d prefer my forever home with older or no kids since their rambunctious energy can still make me nervous. I also wasn`t properly socialized with other dogs growing up so I need to go to a home where I`m the only pet. Meet Koko — A Smart, Loyal Girl Looking for the Right HomeKoko is a sweet, affectionate, and incredibly loyal dog who’s looking for a very special home — one that understands her needs and is committed to helping her feel safe and confident.She’s 7 years old, medium-sized, and absolutely adores her people. Koko loves cuddles, tummy rubs, and curling up close at night (she sleeps soundly through the night!). She’s also very food-motivated and loves her stuffed toys — her favorite pastime is “roughing up” her plushies with great enthusiasm!Koko is fully potty trained and knows how to sit. She’s also a very smart girl who learns quickly when given structure and consistency.However, Koko struggles with reactivity and anxiety, especially around other dogs. On walks, she becomes highly reactive — lunging, barking, and spinning when she sees another dog. She also reacts to movement outside (people, dogs, trucks) and even to animals she sees on TV. These behaviors stem from fear and over-stimulation, not aggression, and she’ll need a patient, experienced adopter willing to work with a positive-based trainer to help her continue learning.Koko also gets anxious when her people leave. She’s making progress with crate training but still needs reassurance and consistency to feel comfortable when alone.Because of her reactivity, Koko should be the only pet in the home, and a calm, adult-only household would be best for her at this time. A securely fenced yard would be ideal so she can enjoy outside time safely without unexpected encounters with other dogs.With the right person — someone who understands her triggers, respects her boundaries, and can provide patient training and structure — Koko has so much love to give.
