Story
Emma was saved from the pound last Nov and now she is vetted and healthy as can be. She is really more Beagle than anything and  is now maneuvering the stairs to the apartment.  She loves playing  so much  and makes sure that she runs around her entire yard to enjoy her time.  Emma  does well with other dogs and has no prey drive at all. S he does need time to warm up and trust, but she warms up to people quite nicely with some patience and love.  Please help this sweet girl find her furever home! April 23, 2025, 5:08 pm

Story
1/29/25 Poppy is a Beagle mix. She may be around 5 years old or so. We’re not sure. She came into foster 2 years ago after being pulled from the euthanasia list at County. She was going to be euthanized for biting a volunteer who mishandled her. She has not even so much growled at her foster family. She’s very skidding, but she’s learned to trust so much more since she was brought into the rescue. She was terrified of everyone & everything. She’s been in a foster home with other dogs, but she really should be an only dog. She seems terrified of the other dogs often, but she will get into a scuffle with them out of fear, so she should be an only dog. She also seems to really want to get closer and snuggle more with her foster mom, but with all the other dogs she really is too scared to. She’ll sneak up when the other dogs aren’t around, but she’ll take off when the other dogs come around. Poppy has been in a house with cats, and she doesn’t seem interested in them. She doesn’t bark, growl, sniff or stare at them. They have always been kept separated, but can see each other. If you have a cat, I would be careful on the introduction and not leave them alone together until you are positive they will be safe. Poppy could really use some basic training. She is terrified of the leash & even having a collar. Her foster thinks she was dragged on a leash & that was when she bit the person at County. It will take patience and time to help her with this. She uses the doggy door. She’ll also hold it, if she’s locked in while the landscaper or pool person is at the foster’s house. She has never had an accident at the foster family’s home. She’s very gentle when taking a treat. She’s used to free feeding and she doesn’t fight over food (resource guarding). She will actually sit back and wait to eat after others eat. She’s also patient to wait for her treats. The foster taught her to sit for treats. She will wait in a seated position until her turn. Poppy is super sweet and just needs a chance to be an only dog and be spoiled rotten.

Story
Frannie is a sweet beagle/dachshund mix that weighs around 28 pounds. Due to having some massive bladder stones along with severe dental disease, Frannie found herself on the shelter’s euthanasia list. We could not resist her gentle demeanor and pleading face, so we stepped in to save her and get her the medical treatment she desperately needed. Frannie is now ready for a second chance at finding a forever kind of love. She is a true hidden gem: this girl is dog-friendly, cat-friendly and loves to cuddle with people. She is house- and crate-trained, has perfect leash manners and has mastered basic obedience commands like sit, stay and come. Whether you want a more playful dog or a cuddly couch potato, Frannie is right there with you. She is just happy to be nearby and enjoying your company. Frannie’s adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, vaccines, spay and microchip. Apply now to meet this perfect angel who will win you over with her goofy grin! Why I`d make a great companion: ~Hello my name is Mitso and I weigh 35 lbs! ~I’m not the kind of dog who jumps right into your lap or runs up tail-wagging. I’m more of a quiet observer that needs a little time to warm but before I ask for gentle pets! ~Toys and treats are the way to my heart!Type of home I`m looking for: ~Someone who understands that trust takes time, and love doesn’t have to be loud to be deep. ~My adoption fee is: $125

Meet Scooter (formerly Milo), a 5-year-old sweetheart searching for a loving forever home. After his owner sadly passed away, Scooter returned to AZ Beagle Rescue and is currently living in a kennel at a boarding facility—but he would love to be back in a home where he belongs! Scooter is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and housetrained. He’s a loyal, playful, and well-behaved pup who loves running around the yard, playing, and spending time with his people. He walks great on a leash and isn’t reactive to other dogs while out on walks. While he adores kids and people, he would do best as the only pet in the home. Scooter is an absolute sweetheart who just wants love and companionship. Could you be his forever family? Location: Phoenix, AZ Contact AZ Beagle Rescue at 623-977-1355 or email adoptions@azbeaglerescue.org if you’re interested in giving Scooter the home he deserves!       April 10, 2025, 6:51 pm
