Story
💙 Meet Stitch! 💙 Stitch is a 3.5-month-old Beagle mix puppy who is guaranteed to win your heart with his sweet demeanor. From the moment you meet him, it’s easy to see why he’s a favorite in his foster home 🐾✨ This adorable boy is the perfect mix of playful and loving—he enjoys romping around just as much as soaking up affection. Stitch is also a great listener for such a young pup, eager to please and happy to learn, which makes him a joy to have around 🦴🐕 Stitch gets along wonderfully with all dogs and people and greets everyone with a wagging tail and gentle spirit. While he hasn’t been tested with cats yet, we’re pretty confident he’d do just fine thanks to his easygoing nature 🐱💕 If you’re looking for a sweet, well-rounded puppy who will grow into an amazing family companion, Stitch may be the one you’ve been waiting for 💙🐾 Apply at azdawgz.org

Story
✨ Meet Lilo! ✨ Lilo is a Beagle mix puppy with an absolute zest for life and a heart full of happiness! This little guy truly loves everything and everyone—people, dogs, new experiences… you name it, Lilo is all in 🐾💕 Known as one of the best puppies in our foster care, Lilo stands out for his friendly nature, sweet temperament, and easygoing personality. He’s the kind of pup who brings smiles wherever he goes and makes every day a little brighter 🌞 Lilo does have a Cherry Eye, which is not symptomatic and does not bother him. Based on our experience with this condition—and the potential risks of surgery, including loss of tear production—we have chosen not to pursue surgical correction. This has no impact on Lilo’s happy, active puppy life, and he doesn’t let it slow him down one bit 💪🐶 Lilo has begun his vetting protocol and will need to continue his age-appropriate puppy booster shots, all of which are included in his adoption 🩺💉. If you’re looking for a joyful, loving, all-around amazing puppy to grow up with your family, Lilo could be your perfect match 💛🐾 Apply at azdawgz.org

Story
Meet Freddie, a five-year-old, 56-pound Beagle mix with the classic coloring and sturdy build of a Beagle, but the frame of a larger breed. Freddie is looking for a special, understanding forever home after a couple of mismatched adoptions. While he's sweet and loving with his people, Freddie is dog-reactive and should be the only pet in the household. He isn’t suited for dog parks or social outings involving other pets and would thrive in a calm environment with a predictable routine. Freddie can also be protective on the leash and would do best in a quieter neighborhood or with access to peaceful walking areas. Despite these sensitivities, he is a low-key companion who prefers the simple pleasure of being near his person over high-energy play. Freddie doesn’t ask for much—just a little space, some quiet, and someone willing to accept his boundaries and give him love. Freddie’s $250adoption fee includes neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness exam at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Ready to meet this gentle soul? Please don't hesitate to schedule an appointment to meet Freddie by calling 602-971-1334. You can also visit us Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm when we are open for walk-ins.

Story
Sabrina’s Story:  Neighbors watched Sabrina and worried about her. She was sitting patiently in the driveway waiting for her people to come home. But the neighbors knew that the people had moved away and left Sabrina behind and so they reached out to us. As if that wasn't bad enough, Sabrina wasn't moving properly, and when we took her to see our vet, we found out that she had multiple  fractures of her pelvis! Today Sabrina is doing very well in her foster home. She has been on a program of careful rest and monitored activities and her fractures are healing well. She still has a way to go, but would like to complete her rehab in a home of her own. Help A Dog Smile will continue to cover all necessary medical expenses at her current vet practice. Sabrina has beautiful manners, she is house trained using a doggie door, possibly without one as well. She eats her food nicely and gets along great with the other foster dogs. She is leash trained and enjoys a quiet walk, but is terrified of traffic. It's possible that her pelvis was fractured due to being hit by a car. Sabrina would do well in almost any home. She attaches herself quickly to her humans and is very gentle and undemanding. She has not been around cats or small children but would probably do well. It's important for her continued healing that she not jump or play hard. She is happy to spend her day lying at your feet or curled up in her bed  Sabrina is estimated to be 5-6 years old, and is looking forward to meeting you. Adoption Requirements : Sabrina’s adoption fee is $350. If you think Sabrina is the dog for you please review the following adoption requirements.   Must live in the Phoenix metro area Must have a securely fenced yard Must be willing to work with Help A Dog Smile Rescue on Sabrina’s rehabilitation from a fractured pelvis.  Help A Dog Smile will continue to cover all necessary medical expenses from the fracture at her current vet practice. If you are interested in Sabrina please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  November 2, 2025, 5:03 pm
