She gets along with children but not cats or other dogs. Her adoption donation is $250 which includes her spay, vaccinations, and microchip. She is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. She will be your sweet Valentine every day of the year so please come to meet her. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/valentine/ We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Hi I’m Susie! My foster parents call me Sweet Susie Q. I am a smiley girl, as you can see in my video of me showing off my smile abilities. I’m an approx. 5-year-old, 43- lb. female beagle mix with a heart of gold. I’m a medium energy girl and I’ve done well with all the dogs I’ve met, although pushy dogs scare me a bit. I am also good with cats and kids! I am house broken and haven’t had a single accident in my foster home. Are you looking for a gardening buddy or outdoor adventure dog? I’m your gal! My favorite thing to do is follow my foster mom around the back yard while she gardens. I walk well on a leash, although going in a straight line is a work in progress. But I do love a good walk and then enjoy hanging out on the couch. I also ride well in a car. While I’m gaining more and more confidence being inside, the outdoors is still where I love running around and just being able to be "me," so I would love for my forever person to love the outdoors too. And it's a must that I have a secure fenced-in yard. I’m a shy but loving girl, and once I trust you, I’ll be your shadow. I do well sleeping in a crate, but I prefer to sleep in bed with my people. Susie is heart worm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill method, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and think you have the perfect forever home for me, complete an app and tell us more about you. April 15, 2024, 5:49 pm

Story
Meet Cliff, the little survivor! Cliff was on death's door when the stars aligned and he ended up at exactly the right place at exactly the right time: off a rural interstate in the path of an avid animal rescue volunteer on a road trip. When his now-foster mama spotted him, he was clinging to life, his ribs protruding from his tiny, battered body. His emotional wounds were as evident as the physical ones - he was so afraid and mistrusting of people that only the overwhelming temptation of food (a peanut butter Clif bar) convinced him to come to the safety of her arms. Not thinking twice, she scooped his sick, injured, emaciated, trembling little body into her car and got him to a vet. Unchipped with no one searching for him, he was accepted into rescue to begin his journey towards recovery... and several months later... LOOK AT HIM NOW!  Cliff is now healed physically & emotionally, fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heart worm negative, fecal clear, and very well socialized with friends of all shapes and sizes (humans, dogs, livestock - you name it!). While it's evident Cliff was never a beloved member of a family, Cliff is making great strides in training, so he would benefit from a consistent schedule and an adopter committed to continue working with him on his obedience. He is mostly potty, crate, leash, and off-leash trained, and has fully mastered the game of fetch!  Estimated to be only 1 year old, Cliff has a full life ahead of him to bury his past trauma under layers and layers of adventure and fun! Cliff's ideal adopter is active and outdoorsy with plenty of time to play and a heart big enough to continue showing him that people are kind. Are you that person? If so, apply today and ring in the new year with a best friend at your side. January 22, 2024, 12:06 am

Story
Finn is a lovable 7 year old purebred beagle. He loves attention and is very friendly. He loves outdoor time and walks. He requires gentle discipline, time outdoors, and mental stimulation. It is not recommended he is with little kids as he gets very nervous when approached suddenly. He has never bitten but has growled. Looking for a good home that can give him the time and attention he needs. Loves playing with other dogs,
