Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 9, 2023, 1:29 am

Apply to Adopt Me! Holly the beagle pup is a loving, adventurous soul who loves to be close to people. She’s about 22.5 pounds at 10 months old and probably won’t get much bigger. She loves to snuggle and gets so excited on walks!  Holly is most happy laying outside in the grass playing with toys or chasing lizards. She would make a great addition to an active family. She is great with other dogs, sleeps well in the crate at night and is potty trained. We are looking for an adopter with a  fenced back yard who will take Holly on lots of sniffing adventures. If you live in the central Florida area, have the time and love to devote to Holly and think your home is a good fit please send in an application and let us know more about your family.  June 8, 2023, 11:19 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet sweet boy Buddy!   Buddy is pure LOVE and bonds to his people quickly. He’s 6 years young, about 33lbs, and is friendly with everyone he meets. He’s house trained, and is not crate trained but doesn’t need it. He does well on his own when his foster mom steps out, and is easily distracted with a frozen Kong toy. He loves going on walks and being outside because of all of the sniffing opportunities! He would love someone who would continue to take him on these little adventures. He does well on a leash, and loves to charge ahead when he picks up a scent, though we are practicing on getting better about that. When we’ve encountered other dogs on walks, Buddy hasn’t reacted with barking even once. He’s noticed the other dogs, and sometimes will show a little interest, but is then quickly back to his top priority - more sniffing. He’s encountered one outdoor cat so far, and showed much more interest than aggression (on leash). Buddy is a pretty chill fella. When the mood strikes, you might see an occasional zoomie, but otherwise he’s content just hanging out with his family. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, except for the occasional bouncy ball.    Buddy loves to stay close to his people, and would be a great fit for someone who doesn’t need to leave him for long periods of time. He will happily snuggle up next to you on the couch, and would love a spot on your bed at night. He’s been great with his smaller foster sister, though he is much more interested in having good company, than having a playmate.    Buddy is highly food motivated and gets very excited for treat time and meals. We are working on manners, like sitting before we are served, and we’re impressed with how much Buddy has improved in such a short time. Buddy also does great in the car, so he’d love to join you on your adventures around town, or even a road trip. Buddy just lays down in the seat, on his blanket, and asks you to wake him up when you get there.   Buddy recently had a dental where he had 5 extractions. He has a little hair thinning (alopecia) on his back which he has had since he was a young pup, so vet thinks must be genetic due to his hair coloring; his thyroid test came back perfect. Buddy would be a great addition to any home where he gets quality time with his people, outdoor sniffing opportunities, and lots of cuddles. If you think you have the perfect forever home for Buddy, and you live in the greater Orlando area, please complete an application and tell us more about your family.   June 8, 2023, 11:19 pm

Story
We have had stitch since she was born. She is now 5 years old. She is a Beagle cattalua curr and Australia shepherd's mix. November 30 my wife had a heart attack. Since then Stitch aka puppy has been possessive with the wife. With her trying to heal from a heart attack we have to let her go. Crushes us. Stitch is so smart. Has only been with Lilo her mom since she has been born. Unsure if she gets along with other dogs. Let give her a good home. She deserves it.
