Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
Valentine is a 3-year-old Beagle mix weighing 29 pounds. She is very timid until she gets to know you, but feed her a treat, and she’s your best friend. She is best as an only pet and must go to a home with no men. She gets along with children but not cats or other dogs. Her adoption donation is $250 which includes her spay, vaccinations, and microchip. She is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. She will be your sweet Valentine every day of the year so please come to meet her. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/valentine/ We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: http://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information-2/

Story
Ares came into our home after a friend who owned him left abruptly. He is great with dogs. Great with cats. Leash trained. House trained. Good with basic commands like sit, wait, off, down, etc. He enjoys going on walks, spending time outside, playing tug, chasing the hose, and cuddling. We have been working with him for the past year and unfortunately we are just not the best fit for him. Despite my partner being very sweet with him he clearly does not like men and is reactive with kids. Ares needs to be in a home without men or children where he can feel safe and secure. He is a great dog. A good protector. I feel he would thrive with a single woman household or someone who has the time to work on his reactivity. He will come with his crate, a bag of food, treats, leash and harness. I just want him to go to a good home. He is up to date on shots. Please help us help ares find the right fit.

Story
This beautiful little girl is looking for her forever home at no fault of her own. Her current people are elderly, they have huge hearts and thought they could help out a friend by giving her a home, but it is just too much for them, not specifically Ryder, but just "puppy". Ryder is 8 mos old, just had her last set of shots 3/2024 and weighed 53 lb at the vets. She has been spayed. She is a little timid at first, but as soon as she hangs out with you for a little bit, she is your best friend. Crate trained and house trained and needs some work with walking on a leash. Preferably a fenced yard or very active family that will include her in their activities and walks. She currently lives with another dog, but is timid and submissive to strange dogs. Will you be that new forever and engaging home that Ryder needs to blossom into a loving companion.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Fa Leasha! Name: Fa Leasha Status: Available for Adoption Medical Status: Healthy Age: 4 years Weight: 25 lbs Sex: Female Breed: Beagle Location: Jacksonville, FL Personality: Fa Leasha is a friendly, playful, and energetic girl who loves to run as fast as the wind! She enjoys zooming around and playing to her heart's content. Adoption Details: Adoption fee: $250 Spayed, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative Home visits required and non-negotiable Fa Leasha is a high-energy dog who thrives on playtime and activity. She's friendly and gets along well with other dogs, making doggie friends a plus for her. However, she may also do well as an only dog with plenty of attention and exercise. While she does fine with cats, she may have a tendency to chase, so it's important that the cats can set healthy boundaries with her. Fa Leasha hasn't been around kids, but her temperament suggests she would do fine with them. Her ideal home would be active and provide lots of opportunities for play, some training sessions, and mental stimulation. Fa Leasha is smart and eager to learn, making her a fast study in obedience. She might also excel in activities like agility and K9 Nose work. If you're looking for a fun-loving and intelligent companion who's ready for adventure, Fa Leasha could be the perfect match for you! Contact The London Sanctuary to arrange a meet-and-greet with Fa Leasha and give her the loving forever home she deserves. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 11:46 pm
