Story
Hello. Our names are Ceil and Stacy and we are 2 bonded females, (mother and daughter), that need to find a home together. We were found as strays in NJ. The kind people who found us searched for our owners, but when they were not located, Penny Angels Beagle Rescue (PABR) was contacted and they agreed to help us. We were named after 2 special PABR volunteers (a mother and daughter) after the human mother, Ceil, passed away. These 2 volunteers were so loving and loyal to each other, just like us beagles, so we are honored to carry their names to represent the incredible bond that they shared with each other. When we arrived in Rescue in December 2023, we were in pretty bad shape. My beagle mom (Ceil) tested positive for heartworms and was treated for it. Heartworms are transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Heartworms grow and multiply and then make their way through the blood vessels of the heart and lungs. If left untreated, heartworms can cause a lot of damage. Luckily, my mom got the treatment that she needed and is doing well. She will need to be retested for heartworms in approx. 9 months and yearly (as per your veterinarian’s instructions), and will go home with a supply of heartworm preventative. We both should be given heartworm medication monthly to prevent this from happening again. My beagle mom, Ceil, is approx. 5 years old and weighs 18 lbs. As her daughter, Stacy, I am approx. 2 ½ years old and weigh 25 lbs. My momma Ceil is a shy and quiet girl, which is why I, (Stacy), am doing the ‘talking’. Loud noises and sudden movements might startle momma Ceil, so a quiet home without small children would be best. I am a bit more outgoing than my mom and try to ‘go with the flow’ of things. My mom and I sleep in the crate together and eat together, which is why we are a ‘package deal’ and must get adopted together. I walk well on a leash (while wearing a harness). When we are walked together, my mom is always looking for me to make sure I am close by her. We are spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date with our vaccinations. We are using a doggie door in Rescue during the day and will need to learn new rules in your home. We get along well with other dogs. We snuggle with each other and will gladly snuggle with you. We are sweet girls that deserve a 2nd chance at life in a home filled with love and patience. Is your heart big enough for us both? If you are interested in adopting Ceil and Stacy, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. The adoption fee for both dogs is $450, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm. If you have any questions, contact beagler534@comcast.net or emnase@aol.com, or call Penny Angels Beagle Rescue at 609-965-9476. Thank you!

Story
Hi. My name is Sadie Pickles and I need to find a person or family that will love me forever. I am a female beagle-mix. I am approx. 3 ½ yrs. old and weigh ~ 42 lbs. I was recently surrendered to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue because my previous owner said that I love attention and would do anything for it. During a petting session by my previous owner, I snapped at the other dog in the home when he tried to be a part of the ‘session’, and I also broke skin on my owner’s hand. I have also growled and snapped at the grandkids when I lived with them. I don’t know what happened to make me act that way. It would be best for me to find a home with an experienced dog owner with older children. Because of my history, no small or young kids (including grand-kids) should be left unsupervised around me. I have a lot of energy and would do well with someone who can give me one-on-one attention, though I am also an independent girl. I get along fine with the other dogs in Rescue but probably shouldn’t go to a home with another high energy dog. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to take me to training classes to see how you can better address potential issues that might arise. I am spayed and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am using a doggie door in Rescue during the day and will need to learn new rules in your home. I am a sweet, playful, and loving girl. I am very smart and inquisitive, and I know some basic commands. I am a fast learner, too, and I love to please people. I walk well with a harness but would also be good in a home with a fenced-in yard. If you could take me for walks to work off some of my energy (or play with me inside or outside in the yard), that would be good for me. I am crate-trained and love my crate, though I haven’t needed to use it as much lately; I was given full run of the house in my previous home without problems. (My large crate, crate pads, and dog bed are included with my adoption.) I really hope that I can find someone willing to give me a second chance. If you are interested in adopting Sadie Pickles, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. Her adoption fee is $225, cash or check. Thank you!

Story
Hi there! My name is Perry and I am a handsome beagle boy in search of a new home. I am approx. 2 years old and weigh ~38 lbs. I was recently surrendered to Penny Angels because my previous owner had health issues and was not able to properly take care of me. I am neutered and up-to-date with vaccinations. I have a wonderful temperament. I am a happy & loving boy. I will snuggle with you and give you lots of doggie love. I am crate trained but will need some help with house-training. I mostly used wee-wee pads indoors in the past but have been using the doggie door during the day in Rescue. I will need to learn new rules in your home. I would also benefit from basic training so that I can be your very best boy. I am strong and tend to pull when being walked, so keep that in mind if you don’t have a fenced-in yard and need to walk me. I get along fine with other dogs and would be happy to have a doggie friend but I would probably be okay by myself, too. Can you make room for me in your heart and home? If you are interested in adopting Perry, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. His adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm. Story
Hi, my name is Bailey and I am a sweet, female beagle-mix in search of a new home where I will be loved forever. I am 2 ½ yrs. old and will turn 3 yrs. on August 19. I weigh approx. 48 lbs. and have a few extra curves. A good diet, healthy treats, and some exercise would definitely benefit me. I was recently surrendered to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue because the older chihuahua in my previous home was not nice to me and would not ‘accept’ me. I only lived in that home for 5 months and when I wasn’t outside, I spent my time downstairs in the finished basement so that the chihuahua could be separated from me. I have been in a few different homes in my 2 ½ years of life and got bounced around through no fault of my own. Now that I am in Rescue, people will be able to see my true beauty and will fall in love with me when we meet. I am spayed and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am house-trained. I am currently using a doggie door in Rescue during the day and will need to learn new rules in your home. I am crate-trained and was comfortable sleeping in my crate at night in my previous home. I haven’t had to use a crate in Rescue since we all live ‘together’. My crate and a few other items will go with me when I get adopted. I am a quiet, laid-back girl. I seem to just go with the flow of things. The PABR volunteers said that I am a perfect girl. I am obedient and will respond to a few commands such as, ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘wait’, and ‘come’. I walk well on a leash with a harness. I am very trainable and can easily learn new things. I haven’t been around cats but I get along well with the other dogs in Rescue and would be a good fit for just about any home. Do you have room for me? I truly hope that I can find my forever home soon. I am a happy & gentle princess that deserves to have a loving home of my own. If you are interested in adopting Bailey, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. Her adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. Story
Granny Smith is a senior Beagle. She was dumped in the woods and left to fend for herself. She came to us extremely dirty, skinny and in very sad shape. Granny is recovering and gaining her weight back dramatically. She enjoys eating and napping in the warm sunshine. Her perfect home would be with a retired couple that has a secure fenced yard. Granny is well over 10 years old and hard of hearing. She has a super kind and gentle demeanor. This sweet soul deserves to spend her golden years comfortable and very loved!
