Granny Smith is a senior Beagle. She was dumped in the woods and left to fend for herself. She came to us extremely dirty, skinny and in very sad shape. Granny is recovering and gaining her weight back dramatically. She enjoys eating and napping in the warm sunshine. Her perfect home would be with a retired couple that has a secure fenced yard. Granny is well over 10 years old and hard of hearing. She has a super kind and gentle demeanor. This sweet soul deserves to spend her golden years comfortable and very loved!

Dear diary, I've been in my foster home for a little while now and I am feeling much more comfortable here than I was in that kennel at that strange place. I feel safe to trust my foster humans, and I've even been spending some time with other doggies! I've discovered that even though I feel bashful at first, I reeeeeeally like playtime with other canine companions - sometimes I get big bursts of energy and can hardly contain myself! At the same time, I'm still an introvert, and I need my "relax and recharge" time, which I usually spend hanging out in my crate with one of my favorite toys. I've been having a blast, but I'm still really excited to find a forever home with someone who is as gentle and sweet as me. I will keep you posted... This sweet gal was found wandering around a city dump. A stranger rescued her but could not keep her so she ended up at our shelter. She is a bit overweight but we are working on that. She has a very kind disposition and gets along with other dogs of all ages. Puppies are a bit much for her though so she would do better around older dogs. Older kids would probably be best for her also. She is housetrained and will need a little work on a leash. She does like to be around people and can be a bit talkative when left alone (she does settle down). She gets around great and her weight doesn’t stop her from jumping on a comfortable couch! She’s just an older lady needing a forever home with a laid back family… some exercise is needed but not too much. We also use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.
