 Meet Luna — Her Babies Have Their Stars. Now It’s Her Turn to Shine!  After being rescued from the shelter pregnant, Luna lovingly raised her little Constellation Litter. Now this 2–3-year-old, 20-pound mixed-breed mama is ready for a forever home where she gets to be somebody’s whole universe. Luna’s wish list is simple: cozy blankets, squeaky toys, leisurely walks, and a person who understands that naps are a perfectly respectable hobby. She loves to snuggle, burrow under the covers, and keep you company for an all-day snooze. Feeling more energetic? She’s ready for tug-of-war or a car ride—with excited spins included! And this girl has opinions. Luna talks when she’s happy to see you, wants something, or suspects you’re leaving without her. She also takes her neighborhood-watch duties seriously, announcing visitors and unfamiliar sounds. A quiet apartment lifestyle probably isn’t written in her stars. A few things her future family should know:  Slow introductions help her shine. Luna can bark, growl, and act intimidating when she’s unsure. She has not bitten anyone she’s been introduced to, but she needs patient people who let her settle in at her own pace.  Leashes are essential. She walks beautifully on leash, but loose Luna becomes a flight risk. Secure doors and careful, leashed trips between the car and house are a must.  She lives comfortably with cats, with boundaries. Luna guards food and toys, so she needs separate mealtimes and thoughtful management around prized possessions. Her foster has not seen her lunge or attempt to bite over these items. Her compatibility with other dogs is still unknown; she has been around them on leash but hasn’t had playtime since raising her puppies. She also hasn’t been assessed with young children.  Storms are scary. Loud noises and thunderstorms send this sweet girl searching for safety in her person. She needs someone who will offer comfort when her world feels a little too big.  Some care requires extra planning. Luna dislikes having her feet handled or ears cleaned and needs a muzzle for nail trims and ear care. She has also had trouble with anesthesia; the rescue can discuss those details with prospective adopters. On the practical side, Luna knows her name and is house, crate, and potty-pad trained. On the less practical side, she may sit up and deliver a persuasive little speech about why your dinner should also be her dinner. Her foster mom admits the presentation is occasionally successful. Mostly, Luna is a happy, laid-back girl looking for a soft place to land and someone who will love her—with her big feelings, bedtime burrowing, and running commentary included. We had adopted buster from the Forsyth Humane Society. He is a handsome little fella with a golden personality. Unfortunately, Buster is proving to be more stress than we can handle. We have two young kids and between them and work we are not able to give him the attention he needs. We also live in an apartment which is not the best place for a hound. Buster is a sweet dog and is amazing with our kids. I'm currently working with him nightly on coming to his name when called as well as teaching him simple commands. Buster is free to a good home. (Included is a kennel, collar, leash, harness, treats, his toy, and a new bag of the food he has been eating)

Her veterinarian has confirmed she’s healthy and thriving; she simply needs her leg wrapped or covered with a bootie during play and outdoor time to keep it protected. Pebbles doesn’t mind one bit. She’s far too busy exploring, learning, and having fun. This sharp little lady loves to play and has a confident, sometimes bossy streak. Because she’s a beagle with a nose that can lead her into mischief, Pebbles requires a securely fenced yard attached to the home to keep her safe during outdoor time. Due to her personality, Pebbles also needs a home with one docile, friendly male dog who won’t challenge her. Pebbles is up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, has been microchipped, and will be spayed when age‑appropriate. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Please be sure to read Mae's bio before applying for her.Mae's life began in an unsupportive and neglectful home.  She was confiscated from her original home and brought into a county shelter.  One animal on the property had been tethered and found starved to death, and Mae was one of several other dogs that were impounded.  She was so emaciated that she wasn't far from death herself.  Mae has learned many new things in a loving and supportive foster home, and her foster family has learned a lot about her- and where she would be most comfortable.    Mae would do best in a home with another dog, she loves to wrestle and play.  Another dog her size or larger would do best, since she can be an exuberant play companion.  She completely ignores cats, so having kitties in the home would be ok too.  She definitely requires a secured fenced in yard (no underground fences please) and a home that has the capability to utilize gates to keep her safe until she has had the chance to become acclimated to her new environment.  She can be a bit nervous with new people, but she warms up fast.  She would do best in a home where all children are 12 and over, since she has had limited exposure to children.  Mae still carries memories of her past, and the one detail she is sure of is that her previous tormentor was a bald man- she is terrified of bald men,  men with hair do not seem to be an issue.  She requires an experienced family that will give her the time she needs to get comfortable and blossom into an excellent companion.    Mae is leash trained, house trained (though rainy days can be challenging), crate trained, and she rides well in a car.  She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 19, 2026, 4:49 pm
