Story
I adopted Melba three years ago from Hope Animal Rescue in Durham. She has been my best friend ever since, but a combination of aging and my having a newborn has caused Melba to show unusual aggression. Rehoming is a very hard decision for me, as I adore Melba. She is playful, smart, and extremely affectionate and loyal, but is stressed out with so many changes. But with a new baby we have to ensure a safe environment. Melba would do best in a home as the only pet with attentive and affectionate caregivers. She is highly food motivated and learns quickly. A really great companion who deserves a good home despite her challenges.

Despite being older, she was more than happy to roll and play with the young female shepherd in the home. She does have a limp at this time due to a recent injury before intake, but it is minor and should heal well with time. Frieda loves the company of other dogs and cats and would make an ideal companion for a pet who needs a buddy.
