Story
This animal is NOT available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. This is a courtesy listing only, so you will need to contact the current owner for more information or to adopt. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER: email: grantw@udel.edu Sylva loves everyone--people of all ages, most other dogs, even cats! She is a super-friendly, playful, lovable dog. She would do great in a home with children and/or other, similarly playful dogs. She is perfectly house-trained and doesn't chew on anything except her own toys. Sylva does require a lot of exercise and interaction (with people or dogs) and would not do well if left home alone all day. She needs at least an hour of vigorous play (fetching, tug-of-war, brisk walking on a leash, or running around with other dogs) every day. She does well on a leash, although she can pull hard if she sees other dogs or the dreaded UPS truck! She is trained on a Gentle Leader (special harness), which definitely slows her down and can be used if leash-pulling becomes a problem. She gets along well with cats (we have one). She wants to play with them, but understands they have to be treated with respect. Her only annoying habit is jumping on people and trying to climb onto your lap. She's very intelligent, however, and could probably be trained not to do this with gentle, consistent training. She needs a fenced-in yard to play fetch or just relax in good weather. She loves going to dog parks and is well socialized with other dogs. She's never been in a fight but can be annoyingly persistent (barking) when trying to play with dogs that are timid or highly defensive and don't want to play. Sylva is in excellent health and has no known medical problems. She's not a picky eater and has no known allergies, digestive issues, or skin problems. Very sadly, we have to give her up because we're moving to Costa Rica. However, she bonds quickly with new friends and will adjust easily to a loving home where her needs are met.
