Story
Meet Bill 🐶 — a 3-year-old, 24-pound Beagle who’s mastered the art of being happy wherever his people are.Bill quickly learned the playground rules and can mesh with other dogs, but he’s just as content hanging out with people. Whether he’s nearby while you go about your day or stretched out in the comfiest spot he can find, Bill knows how to relax and enjoy the moment. He’s very treat-motivated (food is definitely his love language), and dinner time might be his favorite part of the day—except, of course, for a nice walk. With his gentle nature, easygoing personality, and love for both companionship and comfort, Bill is the kind of dog who fits right in and makes a house feel like home. 🐾💙 Did you know that when you adopt from the Maggie Society, your new family member comes with two copies of vet records. All Maggie dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention prior to adoption. Your adoption fee goes towards the vetting of another dog or puppy in need. If interested in adopting, please complete an application. An approved application from The Maggie Society is valid for up to one year. It is not necessary to complete additional applications for dogs or puppies of interest if you have already been approved. Please reach out to the Maggie Society or your adoption counselor for a meet and greet!

Story
Vanilla is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She loves affection so much we're not sure there's a point at which she'd want someone to stop petting her. If she had her way, you'd pet her until your arm fell off. She loves being near her people, but for such an affectionate dog, she's not big on kisses. A plus for a lot of folks! Vanilla is only about a year old, so she's still a playful young lady. She loves toys, balls, and running around the yard. She is dog friendly and absolutely adores people. Vanilla doesn't like being left alone, but she is a perfect angel sleeping in her crate at night without complaint. She loves small breed dogs and plays well with her Chi-Jack Russell & Pug-Pomeranian foster brothers. She has also made friends with some large dogs too, but you could tell she was nervous at first. Luckily they hit it off! Vanilla has enjoyed meeting & playing with children as well! When she was surrendered to the shelter her owner listed her as a Basset Hound, but we're not sure her former owner had actually ever seen a Basset Hound before. We think it's more likely that she's a Beagle, albeit a big one. Our girl could stand to lose a few pounds! Vanilla would do best in a single family home. Although she doesn’t bark a ton when her people are home, we’ve noticed she doesn’t like being left alone and barks some when she’s left. Apply to adopt this very good girl!

Story
Meet Patti the Beagle! Patti is a sweet, playful beagle mix with a lot of love to give. She is a true beagle through and through - a great snuggle dog with a beautiful “singing” voice - especially when she hears sirens. She loves long walks and is still learning her leash manners, making her a great match for someone who enjoys getting outside and helping an eager pup continue to learn. Patti is dog-friendly. Patti came to FRR as a stray, so we don’t know her full backstory. It appears she recently had puppies, and now it’s her turn to find a warm, loving home where she can be spoiled and cared for. She is a classic Velcro dog - Patti absolutely adores people, and she gets especially excited when she sees kids. Her affectionate, joyful personality shines through. Patti loves toys, her bones, and getting wrapped up in a blanket. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves walks, cuddles, and being close to her people, Patti may be your perfect match.

Story
(DOB 01/15/2025) Raisin is a super friendly, happy-go-lucky pup who has truly never met a stranger. Whether it’s people, other dogs, or the guy delivering your packages, Raisin is convinced everyone is a new best friend. He attends doggie daycare often and has energy to spare, keeping up easily with all his buddies. Raisin thrives with canine companions and would enjoy a fenced yard to zoom around in, but he’s flexible! He can be an only dog and doesn’t require a fenced yard as long as his people are committed to giving him fun ways to burn off that joyful energy like daily walks, play sessions, daycare, toys, or simply time spent by your side all make him one happy Raisin. He’s working on his leash manners and will need someone willing to practice with him, but he loves car rides, adventures, and being part of whatever his people are doing. He’s also crate trained, which makes downtime and routines easy. Raisin gets along great with kids, though his enthusiasm makes him best suited for families with older, sturdier kiddos. We aren't sure about cats because he hasn't had an opportunity to meet any at this time. If you’re looking for a cheerful, social, and energetic companion, Raisin is the perfect pup for an awesome family! As part of Raisin’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Raisin, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2594280##

Story
(DOB 11/02/2025) Due to Rambo’s young age, he has not been neutered yet. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within a 1-hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Rambo is quite possibly the cutest puppy you will ever see, wrapped up in floppy ears, soulful hound eyes, and nonstop charm. This little guy is a classic hound through and through, and his future family will ideally be familiar with beagles or hounds, as Rambo brings all the energy, curiosity, and personality the breeds is known for. Rambo is a happy, playful, social butterfly who truly believes playtime should happen all of the time. He loves people, adores other dogs, and thrives on attention, pets, and praise. Toys are his jam; squeakers, chew toys, stuffed toys; you name it, he’s in. Even better, he shares his toys nicely, making him a joy during group play. He’s energetic, food motivated, a little clumsy, delightfully mischievous, and yes…talkative, because no self-respecting hound keeps all those opinions to himself. Because of his energy and antics, Rambo needs a secure 4’+ fenced yard where he can safely romp, zoom, and play with his two-and four-legged friends. A home with the time, patience, and commitment to ongoing training is a must as he grows into his houndy self. He’s doing very well with structured potty training and will need someone home most of the day; he’s simply too young to be left alone all day while the family works or goes to school. At night, Rambo sleeps in a crate and does a great job settling down after a few minutes. He currently wakes once during the night, takes a quick potty break and then heads right back to sleep like a champ. He will grow out of the mid-evening potty breaks as he gets older. Young puppies are wonderfully adaptable, and Rambo is no different. He is currently taking cues from the other dogs and cats in his foster home. For this reason, we do require at least one other playful and confident dog in the home for Rambo to bond, play, learn and grow up with! With gentle introductions and a cat that is open to adjusting, puppies typically do very well living with feline friends. Puppies are still learning about the world and can be bouncy, mouthy, and full of joyful energy. For this reason, homes with very young children may find the puppy stage a bit challenging. With loving adult supervision at all times, puppies and children can learn to grow together safely and happily. If you’re ready for hound humor, puppy energy, and endless entertainment, and you have the space, time, and love to guide him as he grows, Rambo is ready to fill your home with laughter, love, and a whole lot of tail wags. As part of Rambo’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Rambo, you can complete an application online for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2621422##
