Story
Watson is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!!A 7.5-year-old Beagle with a classic hound look, Watson has a gentle spirit and more pep in his step than you'd expect. Though technically a senior, Watson hasn't quite gotten the memo-he still loves his walks, enjoys exploring the world through his nose, and will gladly show off a little bounce when the mood strikes.Found as a stray, we don't know much about his past, but his easygoing nature and polite manners have made him a staff and volunteer favorite. He's part of our Gold Star list, which means he's easy to handle and a pleasure to walk-even for new volunteers. He knows how to sit and takes treats gently. In playgroup, Watson was a bit overwhelmed by younger, rowdy dogs-but when a playful puppy joined him, he couldn't resist showing off his "senior swagger." While his joints may be a little stiff, his enthusiasm is still strong, especially when there's a new friend to charm.Watson would be a great match for someone looking for a calm, friendly walking buddy with a little spark. If you're ready for a low-maintenance companion with a big heart, Watson's your guy.Watson is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
Annie is a five year old female beagle with a very sweet, gentle, and affectionate personality. She has been a deeply loved companion and is well socialized and comfortable living in a home environment. This rehoming decision has been incredibly difficult and is being made solely due to changes in her owner's health. Annie belongs to a 77 year old woman whose physical health has declined and is no longer able to safely walk or exercise Annie consistently, and wants to make sure Annie has a home where her needs can be fully met. Annie is friendly, loving, and thrives on companionship. She would do best in a home where someone is home with her all day and she can receive regular walks, attention, and affection. She is not being rehomed for behavioral reasons and has been well cared for and loved. Our hope is to find Annie a kind, stable home where she can continue to enjoy an active, happy life with people who will cherish her.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. INTERESTED IN MEETING OR ADOPTING MARTHA from Best Friend Pet Adoption rescue? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC   Meet   Martha   – a happy, curious, and full of gentle sweetness little senior with so much love to give.  Martha is the kind of dog who reminds you that the best things in life are simple: a cozy couch, a warm sunbeam, and a home where she’s finally part of the family. After spending most of her life outdoors in a kennel, Martha is discovering just how wonderful indoor life can be—and she’s absolutely charmed by it all. This lovely girl has a low energy level, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a relaxed pace. She loves to sniff around the yard, explore new things, and then curl up for a peaceful nap—preferably in a sunny spot on the couch. Every now and then she’ll surprise you with a burst of adorable zoomies or a little wrestling match with one of her dog friends. Martha is very friendly with people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. In fact, she currently lives with a rotating group of foster pups and does great with all of them. While she could be an only dog, she would probably love having a canine buddy or two to share her days with. She’s also a wonderful house guest. Martha is crate trained and does very well when crated at night or while her foster is at work. She’s mostly housebroken, with only the occasional accident, especially while learning a new routine. With patience and consistency in a new home, she’ll master it. Because she spent much of her life outside, Martha still finds everyday household items fascinating. When she first arrives, you might catch her curiously carrying off a shoe, pillow, remote, or even a small rug—not out of mischief, but pure excitement at all these new treasures! It’s part of her adorable charm as she learns what home life is all about. She’s a quiet dog, rarely barking unless the rest of the pack gets excited. She could do well in many homes, including an apartment, as long as her new family understands she may need a little time to settle into a new routine. She rides in the car but can sometimes get carsick, so she’s probably more of a homebody than a road-trip companion. What Martha wants most is something she’s never truly had before: a soft place to land and someone to love her through her golden years. She doesn’t need much—just kindness, patience, and a comfy couch to call her own. If you’re looking for a gentle, soulful companion who will appreciate every bit of love you give, Martha may be the perfect addition to your home. And giving this sweet senior the life she’s always deserved will be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make.  Martha is going through treatment for heartworm disease.   Best Friend Pet Adoption will provide medical care and cost while she is going through this treatment.  This is not contagious and she is fine to be around other pets.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants ideally should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants that live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MARTHA?
