Story
Vanilla is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She loves affection so much we're not sure there's a point at which she'd want someone to stop petting her. If she had her way, you'd pet her until your arm fell off. She loves being near her people, but for such an affectionate dog, she's not big on kisses. A plus for a lot of folks! Vanilla is only about a year old, so she's still a playful young lady. She loves toys, balls, and running around the yard. She is dog friendly and absolutely adores people. Vanilla doesn't like being left alone, but she is a perfect angel sleeping in her crate at night without complaint. She loves small breed dogs and plays well with her Chi-Jack Russell & Pug-Pomeranian foster brothers. She has also made friends with some large dogs too, but you could tell she was nervous at first. Luckily they hit it off! Vanilla has enjoyed meeting & playing with children as well! When she was surrendered to the shelter her owner listed her as a Basset Hound, but we're not sure her former owner had actually ever seen a Basset Hound before. We think it's more likely that she's a Beagle, albeit a big one. Our girl could stand to lose a few pounds! Vanilla would do best in a single family home. Although she doesn’t bark a ton when her people are home, we’ve noticed she doesn’t like being left alone and barks some when she’s left. Apply to adopt this very good girl!

Story
Meet Patti the Beagle! Patti is a sweet, playful beagle mix with a lot of love to give. She is a true beagle through and through - a great snuggle dog with a beautiful “singing” voice - especially when she hears sirens. She loves long walks and is still learning her leash manners, making her a great match for someone who enjoys getting outside and helping an eager pup continue to learn. Patti is dog-friendly. Patti came to FRR as a stray, so we don’t know her full backstory. It appears she recently had puppies, and now it’s her turn to find a warm, loving home where she can be spoiled and cared for. She is a classic Velcro dog - Patti absolutely adores people, and she gets especially excited when she sees kids. Her affectionate, joyful personality shines through. Patti loves toys, her bones, and getting wrapped up in a blanket. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves walks, cuddles, and being close to her people, Patti may be your perfect match.

Story
Porthos is a 8 year old Beagle who is sweet but very scared - he has obviously been mistreated by humans, so we are going slowly with him to gain his trust. He will need compassionate and loving humans to help him get over his fear. HOWEVER - he loves, loves dogs. They are validating for him and he will need a home with dogs to loosen him up. He doesn't seem interested in cats, but does love dog friends! Porthos is hw-, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. **Extra bonus points if you get his name reference!** To adopt Porthos, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
Don't let that white on her chin fool you, Shelley is cute as a button and as fun as a firecracker! Shelly is an adult beagle who weighs about 21 lbs now and she is a solid girl. With a reddish coat, this little short legged lady has been nothing but fun and adorable since her arrival. She is great with other dogs, loves to explore with her nose and is sure to settle into home living easily. Snuggle bug at heart, Shelley would love a home with beds to snuggle, laps to sit on and a medium energy expenditure to be living her best life. Does that sound like just the girl you're looking for? We've got her!

Story
Missy is a fun-loving, affectionate girl with just the right mix of playful and cuddly. She is crate trained but will never turn down the chance to curl up on the couch and snuggle with her favorite person. One of her cutest habits is “collecting” toys—if you peek into her crate, you’ll usually find a hidden stash she’s borrowed from her doggy friends when they weren’t looking. Missy is very food motivated and always tuned in for the next command, making her eager and easy to train. She seems to be fully house trained and had zero accidents in the home or her crate when kept on a schedule. She loves a good game of tug, whether it’s with people or other dogs, and she gets along great with both small and large pups. Missy greets her people standing up on her back legs (it’s unbelievably cute—pictures don’t do it justice!) and travels well in the car. With her sweet nature, playful spirit, and loving heart, Missy would make a wonderful companion for just about any home.

Story
The perfect picture of a beagle...Gregs has it down pat (you see the placement of those ears??) and is ready to be your budster, go to guy, wingman....you name it and he's on it. Greg is an adult beagle who weighs 27 full grown and he is a hoot and a half. Fun, fast, and follow his nose, Greg is everything you want in a beagle. He does well with other dogs and doesn't mind play and a bit of friskiness. He would be a great companion for adventures as he does not seem to be shy or scared of much and seems to want to world to bring on the fun. Greg does speak the language of his beagle people so a little bit of "aw-woooo" comes as part of the deal. Beagle people, this fun little dude is gonna be right up your alley. *Sleepover feedback: "I can't say enough about how great this dog is in terms of its relaxed nature, easy going demeanor with our kids and cat, and overall fun level. He walks easily at your side, loves being close to people, and endures nearly anything. He slept with me in a bed one night and beside our bed the other. We took him to a brewery where he was easy going and social. He rode easily in a car sitting right beside our kids the whole way. I never saw him act in anxious ways".
