Story
Meet Junie B. Jones! Gender: Female Breed: Beagle mix Current Age: 1.5 years Current Weight: 25 lbs Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Unknown Kids: Yes to kids 8 years old or older Apartment Friendly: Unknown Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it Ideal Home / Adopter: Junie B. Jones would do well in a home that is active and wants to include her in their daily activities. She loves to run and play in the yard but can also entertain herself with toys and settles well when there is no one to play with. Likes: Junie B. enjoys playing with other dogs and roaming the yard checking out all the smells. She is independent and likes sunbathing on nice days but wants to be by your side or on your lap when you are inside. Dislikes: We haven't really discovered anything Junie B. Jones doesn't like. She walks well on a leash other than sometimes needing encouragement to quit smelling and keep moving (she is a hound!). What makes this dog special? As beagles/hounds go, Junie B. Jones is on the quieter side and is not food obsessed. She has a cute high pitched howl when she chooses to use it but we don't hear it that often. She does like her treats but takes them gently and is working on learning to catch treats and to shake. She mastered sit in a few days and seems very trainable. She sleeps in the crate at night for 8+ hours in the room with her people and doesn't make a sound. Junie's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##2727786##

Meet Judah! Gender: Male Age: 3 years Current Weight:45 lbs Breed:Beagle mix Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes to kids Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required, 5'-6' height required Crate Trained: Yes, Although Judah loves being out and about, he's perfectly content and willing to be crated. He will patiently wait in a crate for you all day while you work for you to get home and love on him. Judah is patient, kind, smart, affectionate, and ready to take on whatever comes his way! Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Need an adventure buddy?! A nature enthusiast?! A pro cuddler?! Congrats, Judah is your guy! Within his little body is a dog with a whole lot of love for the exercise and play time of any kind, the great outdoors, and most importantly, YOU. Though his legs be but little, they are fierce; and they're ready to run, jump, and sprint whenever you want to go. Because of his great love of being outside and exploring, it's best that Judah finds himself in a home that lets him run free outside, but safety in fully secured area. When he's done running around and playing with you outside though, Judah is more than happy to settle in and cuddle for the evening. He will gladly chew a toy next to you, as you go about your evening routine. Likes: "Wanna go outside?" are Judah's favorite words. He loves romping around but he also loves walks and sniffing around. Being outside makes Judah so excited that on walks most of the time he lets his nose lead the way rather than his legs. He'll need some leash training, but is always down for training and learning new things if it involves him getting treats!! Judah not picky when it comes to treats, chicken, beef, peanut butter, fruit, whatever the treat, he's ready to work for it! Because of his love of food, he's the perfect dog for training and learning new tricks. Aside from food as a love language, his other love language is definitely hugs and cuddles. This dog loves to snuggle up next to you and be in your lap if you let him and he'd be the best pillow warmer for you at night. Dislikes: Did someone say SQUIRREL?! They're definitely public enemy #1 for Judah, he must defend his home and human against them at all cost!! Judah is a hound at heart and is driven by nature to act on his instinct and sense of smell to hunt out all possible threats for you (that includes trying to climb up trees to chase away the scary birds and squirrels that may lark there). Some may say Judah ain't nothing but a hound dog, but he'll show them just how wrong they are! Judah is more than just his breed, he's a dog who got a love for life and excitement like no other. All Judah wants is a best friend, and he'll be best buddies with just about anyone - he loves new people, new places , and new smells to explore! Judah is intelligent beyond his years, knowing what he wants and isn't afraid to go after them. When you adopt Judah, you're sure to learn a thing or two about loving life, the joys of the great outdoors, and unconditional love. Judah's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2640639##

Story
📜🛑 ROYAL DECREE OF LORD NOT TODAY, MASTER OF ABSOLUTE REFUSAL 🛑📜 Let it be known across all lands, kingdoms, and mildly uncomfortable situations… Lord Not Today has arrived as a stray on 4/6/26 alongside Duchess Don’t Even and Sir Nope, and he would like to formally announce: whatever you’re asking… the answer is no. Estimated to be around 1 year old, Lord Not Today is a young nobleman who specializes in the ancient art of politely declining everything. Eye contact? Not today. Immediate friendship? Not today. Trusting strangers in a loud, confusing place? Absolutely not today. This distinguished lord is not well socialized, and smiles are rare diplomatic events. He is what experts call a “slow thaw specialist”—meaning he will need a patient, kind, and understanding human who respects his need to process the world at his own pace. ⚠️ By decree, Lord Not Today is to be considered a flight risk while adjusting to his surroundings. Until he feels safe in his new kingdom, all exits should be secured and all sudden life decisions postponed (by him). BUT—should you earn his trust (a process that may involve quiet companionship, snacks, and minding your business), you will be granted a rare and honorable title: “His Person.” And trust me… he will mean it. Those wishing to submit themselves for possible approval may present their case at: 📍 Richland County Dog Shelter – Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 Formal applications may be requested via royal correspondence: 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov Proceed carefully. He’s already decided “not today”… but maybe one day. 🛑👑

Story
📜👑 ROYAL DECREE OF HER MAJESTY, DUCHESS DON’T EVEN 👑📜 Hear ye, hear ye… it has come to the attention of the Crown that Duchess Don’t Even has been most unjustly inconvenienced by arriving as a stray on 4/6/26, alongside her loyal court, Sir Nope and Lord Not Today. This situation is, quite frankly, unacceptable. Let it be known: Her Majesty is approximately 2 years of age and does not give her trust freely to just anyone in the kingdom. Smiles from the Duchess are rare treasures, bestowed only upon those who prove themselves worthy through patience, kindness, and proper respect of royal boundaries. The Duchess requires a subject (commonly referred to as an “owner”) who understands that she is a slow thaw sovereign. Rushing her shall result in judgment. Side-eyes may occur. Possibly forever. ⚠️ By royal order, she is to be considered a flight risk until she deems her new castle secure. All gates must be guarded. All exits monitored. The Duchess will not be responsible for any dramatic escape attempts. However… should one earn her trust, they will receive the highest honor: the unwavering loyalty of a once-skeptical queen. And let it be known—that kind of devotion is not given lightly. Those wishing to submit themselves for consideration may present an application to the Crown at the location below: 📍 Richland County Dog Shelter – Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 Applications may be requested via royal correspondence: 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov Proceed wisely. The Duchess is watching. 👀👑

Story
📜⚔️ ROYAL DECREE OF SIR NOPE, KNIGHT OF ABSOLUTELY NOT ⚔️📜 By order of the Crown (and mostly by his own personal decision), Sir Nope has declared the following: He arrived as a stray on 4/5/26 with his fellow nobles, Lord Not Today and Duchess Don’t Even, and would like it clearly stated… he did not sign up for any of this. Sir Nope, estimated to be around 2 years of age, is a distinguished gentleman of caution and impeccable judgment. He does not rush into friendships, conversations, or questionable life choices. Trust must be earned. Quickly approaching him with enthusiasm will be met with a polite—but firm—internal “nope.” This noble knight is not well socialized and will require a patient, kind, and understanding human willing to move at his pace. Think less “instant best friend” and more “earn my loyalty through consistent, respectful service to the realm.” ⚠️ Let it be known throughout the land: Sir Nope is to be considered a flight risk while adjusting to his surroundings. The world is new, confusing, and frankly suspicious. Secure your gates accordingly. However… once you have proven yourself trustworthy, Sir Nope will grant you something rare: quiet companionship, loyalty, and the honor of being his person. And coming from him? That means everything. Those brave enough to apply for knighthood may present themselves at: 📍 Richland County Dog Shelter – Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 Submit your request for consideration via royal correspondence: 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov Choose wisely. Sir Nope already has opinions about you. ⚔️👀
