Story
Bailey is a sweet girl. She is 7 years old, her birthday is October 31st 2018, we adopted her in 2019 from shelter with unknown background. She just wants to lay in your lap or watch out of the window or sleep curled up with you. she loves going on walks and getting treats and literally just being close to you. Bailey would do best with an experienced dog owner who understand hypersensitivity as she does not like commotion or a lot of noise; We have 4 kids and she is good with them, but when there is a lot of commotion and kids running around the house she gets very very anxious. She get stressed very easily and would do best in a one dog home but gets along with other dogs. We cannot give her the calm and quiet life she deserves and just want to see someone love her in an environment that is good for her!

Meet Paddy!! He came in as a stray on 6/15/26. We think he is about a year old. He is a friendly and fun guy. You will need your track shoes laced up and ready to go. He is a bundle of energy and he is fast. He will keep you on your toes for sure. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him! Meet Khalifa!! He came in as a stray with his buddy, Wiz, on 8/22/26. We think he is about 4 years old. He came in with double entropian eye, but had surgery to correct it. He is a sweet and gentle guy. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him! Khalifa is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH. Dasher is a low rider and around 41 lbs--he is short but mighty.  We were told he is not a fan of kids by the family that found him.  SO we suggest a home without children.  It is unknown how he is with cats.  He has a chronic issue with his leg and will likely, at some point, need to be on meds for arthritis. Based on what our vet told us he was likely injured and the injury healed on it's own with out medical intervention. (he ran for nearly a month before he landed at the finders home so it is unknown what may have happened in that time frame)--we suspect he may have been struck by a car or possibly kicked by a horse.   He limps on occasion and it should be monitored as he ages.  ***it took the finder several days to get him to warm up to them before they called us. He does like to go for walks, and can be playful. He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, tested negative for heartworm, and is microchipped. Dasher likes some dogs but can be selective, so a meet and greet is necessary and must be scheduled in advance.  He would likely do well in a low key quiet home----although he is still active.  If you have interest please call the shelter to schedule an appt or stop in during regular business hours to walk through the kennel.  Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Meet Storm! 🐾 Storm is an adult beagle with plenty of energy and a playful personality. Like many beagles, she enjoys staying active and loves having a job to do, especially if it involves chasing after a ball. Smart, curious, and full of enthusiasm, Storm would do well with a family ready to keep her engaged through play, walks, and attention. With time to settle in and burn off some energy, she is sure to make a fun and loyal companion. Update: Storm has now graduated from the GRC program! While at GRC she received one-on-one training, including working on her basic commands. Her trainer reports Storm is very affectionate and eager to please, and played great with other dogs. When she is tired out, she loved to sleep at her trainer's feet, and under a blanket if available! The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Update 8/7/26 Suki did fantastic meeting new dogs, as suspected she is dog friendly ;-) Meet Suki!! Suki is approximately 1-2 years old 43 lbs. Suki is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows "sit". She is definitely some type of beagle/hound mix because her nose is to the ground. She will need work with walking well on a lead. Suki has an amazing personality! Our friends from the Lorain County Dog Kennel asked us to take Suki because she needed entropion surgery on both eyes. Dr Lamb and Dr Roll at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic did the surgery and her sutures came out 7/31/26. Her eyes look great, she gained some weigh and she feels so much better! Her hair grew back from a flea allergy and she looks beautiful. Suki was also spayed, completely vaccinated and microchipped at the ALAC. Now this awesome girl will need a foster home while we search for a forever home! If you are interested in Suki, please submit an online application, so we can learn a little about you to make sure Suki would be a good match for you and your family. It's always a bonus if she could score a fenced in yard ;-) We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process.
