What was supposed to be a short spa day at our Homeward Bound Spay/neuter clinic, unfortunately became an extended stay when our owner never came back for us. Now we are soaking up all the love, toys and playtime the shelter has to offer, but we would love a permanent place to call home. We are NOT a bonded set. My name is Axel, I am 10mths old, Neutered male, Beagle/Pomsky Mix. I am the most cautious of the group, I need a few minutes to warm up and then I will be requesting pets and love. I love to play with my siblings, I am still learning about toys and how to walk on a leash. I may need more than 1 visit, so please make sure you can do that. My adoption fee is $375

Story
Meet Bernie, a smiley, simple companion who doesn’t need much to be happy. He loves getting pets, daily walks and lounging with his people. Bernie can be nervous when meeting new people or adjusting to new places and prefers a little time to take it all in. Once he feels safe, though, he becomes an affectionate, loyal companion. Bernie loves pets and walks, and he does fantastic on leash without barking at passing distractions, as long as strangers respect his privacy. While he isn’t especially playful with other dogs, he does well with calm canine companions and currently lives peacefully with another dog in his foster home. He would also be perfectly happy as the only dog. He is fully potty trained and sleeps in his crate at night, though he may bark when first settling in. Once he’s comfortable in his home, Bernie is just your average playful dog who doesn’t need much to be happy. His size makes him an easy, manageable pup for most homes. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will happily stick by your side, Bernie could be the one.
