Story
Lottie is a dream boat in every sense, all wiggle booty, soft eyes, and a sweet little love-lean that immediately makes you feel like you would move mountains to make her happy. This girl literally arrived speaking “best friend,” and had a whole crew of people fawning over her every move. That is some powerful magic. Everything about her says gentle, affectionate, and an absolute joy to be around. Want to see Lottie’s wiggle-booty charm in motion? Head to YouTube https://youtu.be/JPvzwyzn_mY Lottie is estimated to be just over 3 years old, she weighs a cool 42 lbs, and is maybe a beagle/pug/american bully? Gosh if it isn’t the cutest mystery mix though. If you still somehow need convincing that she is “the one,” here you go. Let’s talk about all her other awesome qualities. On leash she’s a sweet sidekick who adjusts beautifully to guidance, and naturally sticks close to her person. It feels natural from the first step, like “Alright, we’re doing life together now.” With dogs Lottie is just as sweet. She greets new dogs with a friendly, welcoming energy and if you happen to be standing behind her for this you will get the cutest wiggle-wag-booty-action! Its somehow a helicopter tail and a full booty bounce at the same time. With the rest of the dogs she was quite submissive and polite, and she reads the room well. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she should do well with dog friends and seems like a middle-of-the-pack pup who will happily “get in where she fits in” without needing to run the show. In the kennel, Lottie is an absolute star. She is both house and crate trained and walks right in and settles with no fuss. Just the same, once we came inside, she settled beautifully and showed us that she has a naturally low-energy. Couch potato vibes for sure! She was ready to lay down and nap within 5 minutes and she gives off strong “apartment-friendly” vibes. Small-ish, quiet, great leash manners, and sweet as a button. Cats were a “maybe” in a way that feels promising. At first she wasn’t overly interested, respectfully curious and are happy to arrange a sleepover with our Kitty Committee to confirm what that curiosity turns into once she’s fully settled. And one more detail that pretty much melted our hearts on contact, the day she came to spend the afternoon with us she rode in the car on her best-buddies lap in the backseat, the whole way.. Her best buddie is a sweet little boy just under the age of 10. As if she wasn’t already a full dream, she shows us her tender nature with kids to really solidify that. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-key little lovebug who walks nicely, settles easily, and will happily become your quiet companion with a wagging tail and a leaning heart… Lottie is ready and waiting but we know she will not be waiting long. If you are interested do not let her get away! Apply today! Story
If you’ve ever wished for a dog who is truly low-maintenance, quietly loving, and just happy to be near you, Nina Lou is the one. Watch her video and fall in love with her gentle sweet soul: https://youtu.be/yU9eroOy9pY?si=odCj-psQtE1KM6R_ Nina Lou is believed to be a Beagle mix and with those ears, she may even have a little hint of Chihuahua sprinkled in. Whatever her breed may up is, she is absolutely adorable! Nina is approximately 6 years old and currently weighs 33 lbs. She’s an older girl with the perfect size, not too big, not too small, just the right fit for a home where she can be loved and adored. Nina is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Nina is gentle, calm, and incredibly well-mannered. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly sit beside you, soaking in your presence, and giving you that peaceful, “I’m here for you” kind of love. Nina enjoys spending time outside to do her business, but she’s always ready to come back inside the moment her people call. she wants to be where her humans are. She’s also a great companion for someone who wants a dog who can thrive in either an apartment or a home with a backyard. She’s low-energy enough to be comfortable in smaller spaces, but she also loves a yard to quietly explore, sniff around, and enjoy the outdoors. Nina is currently fostered in a home with five other large dogs, and she gets along great with all of them. She’s not super playful or rowdy, she’s more of the calm observer type. She loves to roam the yard, explore quietly, and watch the other dogs play from a distance. She’s the perfect “big sister” who doesn’t need to be the center of attention. She also loves snuggling up with her foster siblings on the dog bed. She’s a true cuddle buddy and enjoys being close to her pals. Nina would do best in a home with a dog that has the same tempo as her. Cool, calm, collected, not looking for a playmate, but looking for a snuggly friend. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s totally fine by Nina. She will gladly be the center of your attention and the princess of your household. Nina enjoys car rides and is a calm, relaxed passenger. She doesn’t get anxious or restless, she just enjoys the ride and being near you. Nina is not destructive in the home. She has excellent house manners and respects the space she’s in. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly hang out while you work, nap on the sofa or her bed, and be your peaceful coworker. She won’t interrupt you, but she’ll be right there beside you. Your constant, loyal shadow. Nina has a cute, happy wiggly butt that shows just how content she is. She’s also a big fan of chew bones, give her one and she’s instantly in her happy place. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet, well-mannered companion who will love you unconditionally and quietly follow you everywhere, Nina is ready to meet you. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need a lot, just a loving home and someone to be her person. We are willing to test Nina Lou with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
We adopted Harvey through a rescue shelter. He is 1 year old and 1 month old. We gave him the name Harvey in homage to Harvey Dent. Since his coloring gives him a distinct face. Harvey is high energy dog but also loves to snuggle. He can fetch and knows commands like sit and down. He is HIGHLY food motivated and would benefit from more training. Harvey is kennel trained. He is a really sweet boy and loves to be with people. We have an older dog and both dogs DO get along. However, Harvey's play is more physical than our older dog can tolerate. His play biting is annoying to her, and she's seemed depressed since we brought Harvey into our home. I suspect Harvey needs more physical exercise. Something we can't provide him. He does gets daily walks but never tires. Harvey may need his anal glands expressed more often than other dogs. This can also be managed with a high fiber diet. Please help us find Harvey a more appropriate home.

Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dog's questionnaire*** Hiya, they call us the Super Six! What was supposed to be a short spa day at our Homeward Bound Spay/neuter clinic, unfortunately became an extended stay when our owner never came back for us. Now we are soaking up all the love, toys and playtime the shelter has to offer, but we would love a permanent place to call home. We are NOT a bonded set. My name is Axel, I am 10mths old, Neutered male, Beagle/Pomsky Mix. I am the most cautious of the group, I need a few minutes to warm up and then I will be requesting pets and love. I love to play with my siblings, I am still learning about toys and how to walk on a leash. I may need more than 1 visit, so please make sure you can do that. My adoption fee is $375
