Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX)

Say hello to Calvin! Mr. Calvin here might be the Calvin to your Hobbes, he's so sweet! Calvin was given up by his finder to our rescue recently but he's in good hands. He instantly warmed up and got along with everyone here as soon as we got him. Calvin is a Beagle mix, he's a bit of a bigger boy with his stubby legs- kind of like a super solid beagle but isn't short. Calvin loves getting attention, he'll bump you with his head so you notice and pay attention to him! He'll need a bit of leash work but is very eager to get to work! That is what people notice most about Calvin, is his eagerness. He will need slow introductions to other people and animals as he can warm up to others slowly sometimes. Story
BEST WAY TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS PUP EMAIL CONTACT@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG MARIGOLD came into the shelter as a stray on 7/10/26 WITH OTHER dogs - several of whom were puppies of varying ages - after being found eating trash near a dumpster at the Home Depot parking lot. The person who found them took them home for a day before bringing them to the shelter. MARIGOLD was terrified by the shelter intake process and was placed in isolation kennels due to alligator rolling and needing to DECOMPRESS. She is staying as far away from staff as she can and is ACTIVELY TREMBLING. The staff want her out so she can recover. She is, no doubt, under extreme mental distress at the shelter. PLEASE HELP HER The finder was able to pick her up and put her in the car. She is NOT rescue only so she can be responsibly ADOPTED or she can be FOSTERED for a rescue if you can offer her stability and commitment until she gets her Furever home. MARIGOLD is listed as a female, tan Beagle and Pittie mix of about years old weighing 38lbs.   ##2807366##

**Meet Jelly! 🩷** Jelly may be a Beagle mixed-breed pup, but there’s nothing mixed up about her personality—she is fun, confident, playful, and full of life! This girl has opinions, and she isn't afraid to share them. Jelly is definitely a little barky and bossy, especially when she’s trying to get her point across, but that big personality is part of what makes her so entertaining. She absolutely loves people and is happiest when she’s getting attention, playing, or following her favorite humans around. Jelly is energetic and playful, so she’ll thrive with a family ready to give her plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to be a puppy. Jelly is currently living with other dogs and kids and she is so sweet with the kids. They are able to pick her up, carry her and play all make believe and dress up with her. When it comes to other dogs, Jelly likes to be the one calling the shots! She can be a little bossy with her canine friends and may need dogs who don't mind her confident personality. With the right introductions and continued guidance, she can learn how to be a polite playmate. Jelly is the kind of puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and make sure you’re never wondering what she’s thinking. **If you’re looking for a fun-loving pup with a BIG personality, Jelly might just be your girl!** 🐾💕 Watch her video here and fall in love: https://youtube.com/shorts/qJs4RV0Ba48?feature=share Questions? Story
If you’re looking for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will stick by your side and fill your days with sweetness, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! Y’all…Butterscotch is sweet as pie and a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. But somehow, as cute as she is, her personality might be even better. She's the kind of dog that quietly works her way into your heart until one day you realize she's become your favorite little shadow. Watch Butterscotch Pie's video here to see her belly and booty get all the scratches! https://youtu.be/PvN9G49-kWc?si=FReCLlIEqJAJtLGb Butterscotch is about 3 years old, currently weighs around 55 lbs, and we believe she may be a Beagle/Lab mix. As with any rescue dog, breed is always a bit of a mystery, but one thing we know for sure is that Butterscotch is 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and absolutely loves being close to her humans. Her foster describes her as a big cuddler who's always nearby, following her around like a little shadow and even sleeping by her head every night. She has such a calm, comforting presence about her that it's easy to forget she's even there... until you look down and realize she's quietly been keeping you company the whole time. And when it comes to affection, this girl is all in. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she'll dramatically flop right over for them), booty scratches are a close second, and if you happen to have an empty lap, don't be surprised if she decides it's hers. Apparently, Butterscotch never got the memo that she's not actually a lap dog. While she's definitely a cuddle bug, she also enjoys getting outside and enjoying the fresh air. Her foster says they spend hours in the backyard together, where Butterscotch loves wandering around, soaking up the sunshine, and even taking the occasional dip in her little dog pool. Every evening she and a couple of the other foster dogs break out into zoomies together, happily chasing each other around before settling back down for the night. She isn't much of a toy dog, but hand her a good chew stick and she's perfectly content. Just don't be surprised if a squirrel runs by... suddenly this mellow little potato remembers she has some hunting dog mixed in there somewhere. Butterscotch has done wonderfully living with several other dogs of different ages and sizes and enjoys having canine companions around. She’s not the type that is looking for a 24/7 playmate in the home. She’s more looking for a companion that has her cool, calm, collected tempo. Not to say that she never plays because she does, it’s just in short bursts and when she’s feeling spry. Butterscotch would also do just as well soaking up all the attention as your one and only. Cats, however, are a little too exciting for her, so we'd recommend a cat-free home. One thing her foster wanted future adopters to know is that she may need a little time to fully decompress after going home. She took a couple of weeks before really settling into foster care, but once she did, she became the sweetest little shadow dog. We honestly think that makes the bond even more special because when Butterscotch decides you're her person, she's completely devoted. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment, although she'd absolutely love having a backyard to explore since being outside is one of her favorite things. Whether she's sunbathing, rolling around in the grass, quietly following you from room to room, or convincing you that one more belly rub is absolutely necessary, she's simply happiest being with her people. If you've been searching for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will happily become your little shadow, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart. Story
Meet Chestnut! 🐾 Chestnut is a handsome 3-year-old Basset Hound/Dutch Shepherd mix weighing about 40 pounds, and this sweet boy is ready to find a family of his very own! Chestnut was rescued from the euthanasia list at the Hesperia Animal Shelter in California, giving him the second chance he so deserved. Now he’s ready to leave his past behind and start his next chapter in a loving home. Chestnut is incredibly sweet with everyone he meets. He can be a little shy when first getting to know someone, but give him some patience and time to feel comfortable and you’ll quickly see his gentle, affectionate personality come through. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s an absolute sweetheart. He’s friendly with other dogs when given proper introductions and would likely enjoy having a canine companion who respects his pace while everyone gets acquainted. Chestnut hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, but if his future household includes feline siblings, we can introduce him to cats to help determine whether they may be a good match. Chestnut would benefit from continued leash training, so his future family should be prepared to spend some time helping him build those skills. With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of encouragement, we think this smart boy will continue to gain confidence and learn what’s expected of him. Because Chestnut can initially be shy, we recommend a home with kids ages 8 and older who can be patient with him and give him the space and time he needs to settle in. Chestnut’s adoption fee is $295 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion and are willing to give him a little patience while he learns that he’s finally home, Chestnut may be your guy. ❤️ Apply to meet him today!

Meet Haley ❤️🐾 Haley is an 8 year old, 48 lb. Basset Hound with the sweetest personality and A LOT to say. 😂❤️ Haley originally came from a high-kill shelter in California, where she was on the euthanasia list. She was adopted, but unfortunately her adopter had to surrender her to The Asher House because Haley and the cat were not a good match. Haley is incredibly affectionate, loving, playful, and very, very vocal. She LOVES to howl. 😂 If you walk into another room and she doesn’t see you for five minutes, you’d better believe she’s going to celebrate your return like you’ve been gone for five years. She’ll greet you with excitement, love, and, of course, a beautiful Basset Hound howl. She loves going for long walks, hiking, playing, and just being with her people. She really is such a special dog. Haley does well with other dogs, but she can resource guard, so if she goes to a home with other dogs, her family will need to be comfortable managing that. She would also be perfectly happy being the only dog in the home and getting all the love and attention for herself. Because we want Haley to always feel safe and comfortable, we believe she would do best in a home without young children. Kids 11 and older would be a better fit. She also needs a cat-free home. Haley has been through a lot, but none of it has taken away her sweetness or her love for life and people. She’s funny, affectionate, active, full of personality, and ready to find the family who will love her exactly as she is. Her adoption fee is $295 and she's spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply to meet Haley today. ❤️🐾
