At first, Jessie might look like he’ll drag you down the street… but surprise! He’s actually a slow-moving sweetheart who just wants to be close to his person. Take him on a walk too fast and he’ll let you know — by sitting down and giving you the “we’re not doing that” look. My name is Jessie. I’m a 4-year-old Beagle mix with a gentle heart and an easy-going nature. I’ve been to the shelter twice in my life, and both times I was saved from euthanasia. I don’t want to go through that again… I just want a family who will love me forever. I’m dog-friendly, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and I’ve completed my heartworm treatments. Ruby is a gentle soul, who could be a loving companion to those who have the time and availability to give her the attention she responds to best. We rescued her from an animal shelter in 2012. She is very patient and loving towards children, and has been a devoted companion to our other dog, although she generally responds with anxiety towards other animals. As she has gotten older we recognize that we are not able to give her the consistent care and attention she needs, and she had exhibited more anxiety related behavior issues; such as obsessively licking her paws or the carpet, periodically sneaking off in a vacant room and peeing on the carpet, or fits of barking while in her kennel at night. Our belief is that she is in a home where she can receive more consistent attention and exercise, many of these issues could greatly diminish, so we are seeking to help her find a new, loving home for her golden years.
