Vance is an absolutely striking Beauceron/Shepherd mix with a happy easy-going personality. He’s 10 months old and still growing. He’s a big boy at 57 pounds. He arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/6 as a stray. Vance is curious and investigates his surroundings thoroughly. His tail is in constant wagging. He is highly motivated by treats, and when offered one he first jumps up before he sits. He does not jump on you. He’s friendly, well mannered, and affectionate. He may be housetrained. He walks OK on a leash. He hasn`t show any interest in other dogs, yet please ask the shelter for a dog test if you have another pup in the home. This gentle giant will need a secured yard to investigate and to live indoors where he can be close to his human companions.

Meet Mia a 4-year-old, 70-80 lb fully vaccinated and spayed beauty who thrives in a structured environment and has consistently proven herself easy to work with, responsive, and eager to please. Mia is looking for a calm, confident adopter who can offer her the routine and structure, which is where she thrives! She'll do well in a dog-savvy home and gets along with other dogs when management is clear and calm. We recommend a home without young children; teens may be fine with guidance. Over the years, she's completed several training programs--passing each with flying colors! . To support her in her next chapter, Happy Gentle Dogs will provide a complimentary Board & Train before adoption, along with a smooth, hands-on transfer and follow-up support to set everyone up for success. Mia has a solid foundation and a big heart. If you're ready to meet her with patience and purpose, we'd love to hear from you. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Tori was rescued from the Humane Society and has been with me for 9 years. She is 10 years old and will turn 11 on 12/15/26. I’m looking for a loving, patient, stable home because I’m leaving for Army basic training in a couple of weeks and don’t have anyone to care for her while I’m away. This is an incredibly difficult decision because it has just been the two of us for so long. Tori does have some separation anxiety and would do best with someone who can offer comfort, consistency, and patience. She does better with smaller dogs. Larger dogs can make her anxious at first, so she needs time to warm up. She is sweet, cuddly, loyal, food-motivated, curious, playful, and affectionate. She loves chew toys, rope toys, stuffies, sniffing, exploring, and being close to her person. She isn’t big on fetch but would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle, loving dog. 🐾
