Duchess was in a small, high-kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected that she could not open them, and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears, and the chronic dry eye had been untreated for so long that her corneas were damaged and infected.This sweet girl was initially so shut down that she had to remind herself what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes; she gets two types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She has learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She is now able to see, although not as well as we hope she will as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She wants to devote herself entirely to her family and take care of them. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed.She is house trained, can use a doggie door, or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends, but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great at going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed, on flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Story
Gracie is a 2 1/2 year-old, 50lbs Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her smile! Originally adopted from Collin County Animal Shelter, she has blossomed into a sweet, loving, and playful companion who’s ready to find her forever family. Gracie is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. She even graduated from training through Dog Training Elite—she knows sit, down, paw, come, and go to bed (kennel). She’s still working on her leash manners but is eager to please and treat-motivated, so continued training will be a fun way to bond with her. This girl has a playful side too—she LOVES tennis balls, cuddles on the couch, and watching squirrels from the window (she could do it for hours!). With her high prey drive, she would thrive in a home with no cats or small animals. Gracie would do best as the only pet - she can coexist around other dogs but seems to prefer being an only pet in her home space. Hi! My name is Luke and my foster mom says I am the sweetest boy! I'm a 55 pound German Shepherd mix, and born approx 2/15/13. I am SUPER smart! I enjoy playing with other dogs, and am crate and house trained. I am eager to please, have a WONDERFUL disposition, and deserve a lifetime of happiness in my very own furever home!Luke is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on heart worm and flea/tick preventatives.
