Beauceron Australian Kelpie

Male, Young
Mesquite, TX
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Spayed or Neutered,
We have named this very handsome boy Chandler. When checking out his breed on the Dog Scanner app we find that the suggested breeds in his mix are Lapponian Herder, Beauceron, Australian Kelpie and Australian Cattle Dog. Chandler weighs 70 pounds, is approx 3 years old and has a soft, silky coat with a sheen. He was picked up by one of our officers and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/4. It's obvious that he is house trained because he kept his kennel clean and pottied as though he had been holding it! He has a calm, low-key personality. Is he ever affectionate, friendly and craves attention! He stays close, will lean in and is perfectly fine with receiving loving attention. He will give kisses in return. Being a herding dog, he does instinctively "herd" the person walking him. Due to this strong herding behavior, he should be supervised when around small children. Bottom line, this is one amazing dog that would be a wonderful addition to just the right family that understands herding breed behavior. He does not wish to live outside but rather be an integral part of his family, interacting with them daily inside.

These pups are in McKinney, Texas too!

Female, 9 yrs 4 mos
McKinney, TX
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Lady is a senior girl with lots of spunk and love left to give. She is a happy, outgoing love bug waiting to totally devote herself to her forever home. Her owner had turned her into a kill shelter to be euthanized with a very large, ruptured mass on her thigh that had never been addressed. Instead she got to us and our wonderful vet was able to remove the mass so she can have as many happy years as possible.Lady has great house manners, she will go to the door and ask to go outside if she doesn’t have a doggie door. She lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone; she even has plenty of energy to play with the youngsters. She would love to come to a new home as a permanent foster if you are close enough to our vet so we can continue taking care of her; or she is available for adoption. Her mass was cancer so she will need to be monitored for growths to be removed as long as she can have a good quality of life. She is fully vetted - spayed, current with vaccines; on flea/tick and heartworm prevention and microchipped.

Doberman Pinscher

Female, 6 yrs 2 mos
McKinney, TX
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Duchess was in a small, high kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected she couldn’t open them and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears and the chronic dry eye had been untreated so long her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was so shut down initially she had to remember what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes, she gets 2 types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She’s learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She’s able to see now although not as well as we hope she can as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She just wants to totally devote herself to her human and take care of her family. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.
