Vance is an absolutely striking Beauceron/Shepherd mix with a happy easy-going personality. He’s 10 months old and still growing. He’s a big boy at 57 pounds. He arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/6 as a stray. Vance is curious and investigates his surroundings thoroughly. His tail is in constant wagging. He is highly motivated by treats, and when offered one he first jumps up before he sits. He does not jump on you. He’s friendly, well mannered, and affectionate. He may be housetrained. He walks OK on a leash. He hasn`t show any interest in other dogs, yet please ask the shelter for a dog test if you have another pup in the home. This gentle giant will need a secured yard to investigate and to live indoors where he can be close to his human companions.

Theo is a two year-old neutered male, 64lb Shepherd mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/28 as a stray. Like I was saying he has made a complete turnaround because once he did get in the yard, he was galloping, prancing and almost bouncing happily back-and-forth. He was so happy he didn’t even want to come to me for petting. He just wanted to frolic. It was hot out, so I took him back into the meet and greet room. That’s when we became better acquainted. He came to me for petting. He’s real sweet and affectionate. He has love to give and wants to be loved in return. He did his business in the yard, and he may be housebroken. He now walks relatively well on a leash. Besides that he said he would like to snuggle inside on the couch with his new family.

Maya is a 2 year old 72 lb Canaan Dog/Shepherd mix that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 12/8. Maya is a giant furball! And although she is soft and fluffy, it’s not all fur! She is stocky with a solid build. She could stand to lose a few pounds through a healthy diet and exercise. When I called her from across the yard she came running to me. Her tail was in constant wag mode. She’s can sit for treats, but only when she wants to. She is exuberant, friendly, frisky, alert, and playful. She walks OK on a leash. She may be housetrained to. She would make a wonderful family companion, with a secured yard to play in, then back inside to cuddle with her human companions.
