Story
Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This happy guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space. But despite it all, he never lost his happy spirit or wagging tail. His playful energy and friendly nature shine through in every interaction. Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you! He is cute as a button and the type of dog that will lean against you whenever he gets the chance. He takes treats gently and is a smart boy who already knows 'sit,’ 'come,’ 'wait.’ We are working on 'down,’ and 'crate.’ When he first met our resident dog, Louise, and she growled, he was not reactive at all and just went about his business. Now they are fast friends and play very well together in spite of their size difference. Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. Bodhi is a strong boy and will pull on leash, but he really wants to please and loves treats, so the little bit of training we've been doing with him has been going well. As he has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of his guardian breed behavior and some reactivity on leash which we are working on. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience, but will consider older, dog savvy kids as well.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 14, 2026, 4:48 pm
