Story
This dog is the sweetest dog. Good with children and other animals at dogpark. She just has pretty bad separation anxiety. I am to busy to care for her and I was told she would not do well with crate training at her age plus her history of self harm in a crate. For that reason I have never attempted. She would do well in a family where someone is around most of the time or an older couple.

Story
Animal Profile: Bodhi is an estimated 2-year-old, 75-pound Doberman Shepherd or possibly Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update: Bodhi is a smart, biddable, confident and fun dog. He loves to play -- fetch, tug, wrestling, doesn't matter -- and work. He truly enjoys obedience training, and structured play is a great way to fill his cup. He is fully crate trained and house-trained and has great dog social skills with both large and small dogs. He has not been evaluated with cats and we would require cat testing prior to placement.  Bodhi is a guardian breed mix and absolutely needs a knowledgeable owner who can provide him leadership and structure, as well as enforce boundaries. Without this relationship dynamic, Bodhi is pushy with his people, and territorial to newcomers. WIth the right relationship dynamic, Bodhi is biddable with his person and accepting of new people. Bodhi will do best with an intentional owner who wants to do stuff with him (versus as a hang around the house, kind of pet) although Bodhi does absolutely have a chill setting and is not hyperactive in the home.  He runs well on a leash and goes on regular 3-mile runs with a volunteer. He knows sit, down -- with implied stays -- recalls with distractions, and walks nicely on leash. He is absolutely a lot of dog and a "dog person" will truly appreciate him. He would be too much for a first time or inexperienced dog owner.  Adopter Profile: Single family residence required No apartments or condos Fenced yard preferred (not required) Other dogs OK but not required Cats considered with evaluation Large breed experience required Training experience or commitment to learn required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 7, 2026, 1:26 am

Story
Say Hello to Zyra … her name is as unique as she is. In Arabic, it means brightness. In Spanish, it means gift of god.In Hindu, it means bring good change. And in Hebrew, it means new beginnings. This dear girl is true to all of these. Which is remarkable given her background. For years, Zyra’s world was a patch of dirt in a backyard. No toys. No walks. No comfort. Just forced puppy breeding, loneliness, and a life of being used. But here’s the thing about Zyra -- they never broke her spirit. She still believes in people. She still lights up when you walk into the room. She still wants to play and curl up next to you, pressing in tight. Now six years old, Zyra is all heart. A German Shepherd through and through—smart, loyal, and devoted. What she is not is a dog-park social butterfly or a busy-sidewalk type of girl. Her soul is built for depth, not crowds.Zyra’s dream home is one with shepherd experience, no other pets, fencing and an understanding of what it means when a dog wants to be your whole world and can give that loyalty in return. She doesn’t want much … just a place where she can be safe, loved, and finally …FINALLY… the center of someone’s life and love. She’s waited long enough. Questions? Story
Fitz is 10 yrs old, 65 lb, rescue mutt. She basically knows English, and is very obedient and intelligent. She loves both a walk and long nap - especially on a couch or a cool floor spot. She does well off leash with other pups, and with kids.she can get barky at other dogs when on leash, but otherwise is a real gem. Our other dog has become aggressive towards her. So for the sake of her safety and ours, we are hoping to find her a loving new home.

Story
Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
