Story
Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This happy guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space. But despite it all, he never lost his happy spirit or wagging tail. His playful energy and friendly nature shine through in every interaction. Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you! He is cute as a button and the type of dog that will lean against you whenever he gets the chance. He takes treats gently and is a smart boy who already knows 'sit,’ 'come,’ 'wait.’ We are working on 'down,’ and 'crate.’ When he first met our resident dog, Louise, and she growled, he was not reactive at all and just went about his business. Now they are fast friends and play very well together in spite of their size difference. Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. Bodhi is a strong boy and will pull on leash, but he really wants to please and loves treats, so the little bit of training we've been doing with him has been going well. As he has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of his guardian breed behavior and some reactivity on leash which we are working on. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience, but will consider older, dog savvy kids as well.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 14, 2026, 4:48 pm

Story
Hi there! My name is Vonnegut, named after the famous author Kurt Vonnegut, but most folks call me Vonnie!I am a German Shephard Mix and am considered a medium-large breed! I should be fully grown by now, so you`ll know what to expect from me. I am a lanky fella with a lot of love to give!I am the kind of dog that would do best as the ONLY pet in the house as I am not a fan of other dogs. (Please don`t bring me to dog parks!)Even though I am only two years old, and already know TONS of tricks! I already know sit, down, stay, come, and wait and don`t even need treats to do them! I am working on my leash manners but am getting better every day! I have lots of energy and love to play, but once I get my wiggles out, I`m an affectionate, cuddly guy who enjoys affection. I am constantly looking to please you and want to make you proud of me!Because I can get a bit jumpy, I would do best in a home with older children. Can you blame me? I`m just an excited young man! But with very easy training, like `down` or `no`, this behavior can be adjusted. We`re working on it here, but I`m just SO excited that the other dogs can distract me pretty easy!At RASKC you can find me laying on my bed and playing with my toys! I am very gentle with my stuffed animals. I also love to get walked by our dog walkers and they love to take me out!I`m a WAGS Adventure Buddy! One of our awesome volunteers takes me out on outtings at the warehouse she works at and I do awesome! If you happen to catch my staff caregiver, Janelle, she can show you all the a-dork-able clips of how I do when I`m out and about. I love to nap, adventure down halls, and LOVE a good car ride (and even sit pretty and wait patiently a pup-cup, if you so please!) Because I`ve been here a while, and the stress of meeting new neighbors and humans was getting to be a little much, my caregivers have me in a quieter space in the private hall where I have a little more room to run and less visitors to greet. If coming to meet me, just let them know at check in - they`re super happy to bring me out to the yard so you can hang out with me! You can visit me at the Pet Adoption Center on weekdays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032.Come and visit me today, I`d love to go home with you!

Story
Hi! My name is Laika and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on 7/12/25.I am very smart, affectionate, and motivated to learn! I pick up on new skills quickly and may even be a good candidate for agility training. Because of my history as a stray, I am fearful of other dogs and sometimes strangers, and would be most successful if I have space to build my confidence with minimal stressors - I am not yet ready for the dog park or a home with lots of visitors. I may be shy at first, but once I trust you, I will be incredibly loving and want to be by your side. Because of my high intelligence and work drive, I would do best with a family who is interested in consistent and energetic training. If you`re looking for a loyal dog with lots of love to give, Laika would be a great fit!If you decide to adopt Laika, her foster parents would be happy to set you up with some of her toys and bedding to help her transition to your home.

Story
Hi! My name is Kip and I am available for adoption.I was brought to RASKC on January 12, 2026 with my other siblings!I weigh 15.9 lbs currently, but I am just a puppy! When fully grown I will be a large breed dog.I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home!I am a puppy! I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Puppies require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn. I am not potty trained or crate training yet and teaching me those skills will help tremendously on a road to success! If you and your family are ready to fall in love my awesome self, please check me out!I am an adaptable puppy who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!I am currently in a foster home, please fill out a foster interest form if you would like to meet me :)
