Story
This dog is the sweetest dog. Good with children and other animals at dogpark. She just has pretty bad separation anxiety. I am to busy to care for her and I was told she would not do well with crate training at her age plus her history of self harm in a crate. For that reason I have never attempted. She would do well in a family where someone is around most of the time or an older couple.

Story
Animal Profile: Bodhi is an estimated 2-year-old, 75-pound Doberman Shepherd or possibly Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update: Bodhi is a smart, biddable, confident and fun dog. He loves to play -- fetch, tug, wrestling, doesn't matter -- and work. He truly enjoys obedience training, and structured play is a great way to fill his cup. He is fully crate trained and house-trained and has great dog social skills with both large and small dogs. He has not been evaluated with cats and we would require cat testing prior to placement.  Bodhi is a guardian breed mix and absolutely needs a knowledgeable owner who can provide him leadership and structure, as well as enforce boundaries. Without this relationship dynamic, Bodhi is pushy with his people, and territorial to newcomers. WIth the right relationship dynamic, Bodhi is biddable with his person and accepting of new people. Bodhi will do best with an intentional owner who wants to do stuff with him (versus as a hang around the house, kind of pet) although Bodhi does absolutely have a chill setting and is not hyperactive in the home.  He runs well on a leash and goes on regular 3-mile runs with a volunteer. He knows sit, down -- with implied stays -- recalls with distractions, and walks nicely on leash. He is absolutely a lot of dog and a "dog person" will truly appreciate him. He would be too much for a first time or inexperienced dog owner.  Adopter Profile: Single family residence required No apartments or condos Fenced yard preferred (not required) Other dogs OK but not required Cats considered with evaluation Large breed experience required Training experience or commitment to learn required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 2, 2026, 4:02 pm

Story
Hi future family, My name is Donggu. 😊 I’m a 4-year-old German Shepherd boy weighing around 32kg. I may look big and strong on the outside, but deep down I’m a gentle, calm soul who truly loves people. 💛 Before I was rescued, I was living in a city shelter and came very close to euthanasia. I went through difficult times, but somehow I never lost my trust in humans. Even now, I still greet people with kindness and an open heart. When I meet someone new, I usually lower my head slightly and greet them very politely — that’s just my way of saying hello. During walks, I sometimes wag my tail and gently approach people passing by because I genuinely enjoy human company. And honestly… if you have a treat, we’ll probably become best friends very quickly. 😊 If unfamiliar visitors come into the house, I may be a little cautious at first, but I warm up pretty fast once I realize everything is okay. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats. 🐕🐈 Whether I become your one and only dog or join a home with other pets, I adapt very well and enjoy peaceful companionship. My personality is calm and gentle overall, but I also enjoy outdoor activities and walks. I’m not overly high-energy, so I’m the kind of dog who enjoys both adventure and relaxing quietly beside my family. Walks are one of my favorite things in the world. I love sniffing around and exploring new scents. I can pull on the leash a little sometimes because I get excited, but if my person asks me to stop, I listen pretty well. Loud cars, flapping banners, cats, or birds during walks don’t really bother me much — I’m usually more focused on enjoying the moment with my human. I prefer going potty outside and enjoy having a regular routine, usually with morning and evening walks. I don’t struggle with separation anxiety, but if soft toys, cushions, or fluffy items are left around while I’m alone, I might chew on them a little for fun. Other than that, I’m a very quiet and relaxed boy at home and rarely bark. I absolutely love sweet potatoes and chicken, and I’m not picky with food at all. Even taking medicine is easy for me if it’s hidden inside a yummy snack. I’m also very polite at the vet and stay calm during checkups.💛 People say I’m smart and very observant. If you teach me something calmly, I try hard to understand what you want from me. Right now, I’m learning “sit” and doing my best every day. 😊 I’ve experienced many changes and difficult moments in my life, but I still believe in people and still know how to love. Now I’m hoping to find more than just a temporary place to stay. I want a real family — someone to walk beside, rest beside, grow older beside, and share everyday life with. I’m waiting patiently for the family who will fill the rest of my life with love, comfort, and forever memories. 🐾 Love, Donggu

Story
Hello, I’m Sebastian 🐾 A 3-year-old Labrador–Doberman mix, about 27 kilos of love, elegance, and joy. I’ve got the long, lean body of a Doberman and the warm, food-loving heart of a Labrador — truly the best of both worlds. My journey hasn’t always been easy. I spent too long in a city shelter and eventually found myself on the euthanasia list. Just in time, Dream Tails stepped in and gave me a second chance, bringing me to their training center — and now I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and communicate beautifully with them, showing my feelings clearly and setting boundaries in a calm, respectful way. I walk nicely on leash and don’t pull, making our walks something we can both enjoy. I’m often told I’m very handsome — but what truly sets me apart is my heart. I’m overflowing with love, and every bit of attention makes my heart feel like it might burst. I can’t wait to experience the comfort of a warm home and to finally feel safe with my forever family. Because I haven’t lived in a home before, I might show a little puppy mischief at first as I adjust. With patience, guidance, and understanding, I’ll settle in and thrive — I promise my love will make it all worth it. All I’m dreaming of is a family who will give me time, kindness, and cuddles… especially cozy moments on the sofa with my mommy and daddy. 🫶🏻 Could you be my forever family?
