She is a typical Mal — active, alert, and incredibly smart — but she is also very sweet and affectionate once she connects with her people. Ruby came to the shelter after her family said they had too many dogs. She arrived with a male dog and her four puppies. The family chose to keep the male, sadly leaving Ruby behind to start over on her own. Despite everything she’s been through, Ruby remains loving, eager to interact, and ready for a fresh start. At 2 years old, Ruby is in the prime of her life. She would thrive with an active adopter who understands working-breed dogs and can give her the exercise, structure, and mental stimulation she enjoys. With her intelligence and enthusiasm, she will excel with training and loves having a job to do. Ruby has already shown that she is a devoted and caring girl. Now she just needs someone who will choose her — someone who will give her the forever home she truly deserves. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Blondie is a stunning 9-year-old German Shepherd and Malinois mix weighing 58 lbs. She is a highly intelligent, focused dog who requires a handler with extensive experience in working breeds and protection training. Based on her behaviors, it appears she began professional protection training in the past that was never fully completed. She possesses a strong, confident personality and has the potential to be an exceptional companion for a person who understands how to provide the structure and leadership these breeds require. Despite likely spending the earlier part of her life outdoors, Blondie has transitioned remarkably well to life inside and is fully housebroken. She has been making excellent progress with her current training and is eager to work. However, due to her high drive and dominant nature, she must be the only pet in the home. She is not compatible with children or cats and shows dominance toward other dogs. Blondie is fully prepared for her forever home. She is spayed, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and dewormed.
