Meeko is a 6 month old male Belgian Malinois mix who is both incredibly handsome and a total sweetheart. He has the perfect balance of medium energy and sweet affection, making him a wonderful companion. Meeko enjoys short jogs and sniffing out new scents at the park, and when he’s happy, he flashes the most adorable grin that is guaranteed to make you smile too. He also has a lovable side and is happiest hanging out next to his favorite people. Smart and at just the right age for learning, Meeko is ready to build strong bonds with his forever family. Just give him the loving home he deserves, and he will reward you with a life filled with happiness, love, and complete gratitude. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.  Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.January 4, 2026, 7:37 pm

Story
I rescued Zara in Tennessee. She had been running about. Guessed age 1-3 years but she was definitely a puppy. She grew a lot and had puppy behaviors. She had separation anxiety and hated being crated. She can crate now if it s the right cage and anchored so she can not move it. Cage no longer than 4 hours. She does well in outdoor kennel for up to 8 hours but again it has to be inescapable. She adores children and her people. Loves people more than dogs but she does play well with those closer to her size. She’s a Velcro dog. She will not be happy if left alone too often. Very smart but will need consistent boundaries or she will lean toward being dominant. She responds better to praise than loud or physical forcing. She now will stay in yard or very close at neighbors WHILE I’m home. You can’t leave her out and go. She will look for someone who is home. Scared of thunder and fireworks. She is a love bug. Not a working dog.

Shes a breeze to leash up (although she can pull a little on leash) and happily heads back inside when its time. She knows her basic commands like sit&#44 paw&#44 and lay down&#44 and shes not picky about treats-taking them gently every time.<br/><br/>One of Clovers favorite things? Tennis balls! Toss one her way and shell joyfully chase it&#44 then proudly carry it around like a prized possession. She showed no resource guarding at all-she just really loved that ball. Just as much as playtime&#44 Clover adores affection. If you stop petting her&#44 shell gently place a paw on you as if to say&#44 Please dont stop. Its impossible not to smile.<br/><br/>Clover was playful&#44 affectionate&#44 and gentle&#44 and she did well meeting a 13-year-old child. When it comes to other dogs&#44 she would do best with very slow introductions or as the only dog&#44 where she can soak up all the love for herself.<br/><br/>Overall&#44 Clover is a sweet&#44 fun&#44 loving girl whos ready to be someones loyal companion. If youre looking for a dog who brings both heart and happiness&#44 Clover might just be your perfect match.

She is a highly intelligent, focused dog who requires a handler with extensive experience in working breeds and protection training. Based on her behaviors, it appears she began professional protection training in the past that was never fully completed. She possesses a strong, confident personality and has the potential to be an exceptional companion for a person who understands how to provide the structure and leadership these breeds require. Despite likely spending the earlier part of her life outdoors, Blondie has transitioned remarkably well to life inside and is fully housebroken. She has been making excellent progress with her current training and is eager to work. However, due to her high drive and dominant nature, she must be the only pet in the home. She is not compatible with children or cats and shows dominance toward other dogs. Blondie is fully prepared for her forever home. She is spayed, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and dewormed.
