Story
Bertie arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 8/10, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim her. A longtime volunteer says Bertie is one of the most incredible dogs she's ever met—and it's easy to see why! She's playful, friendly, and loves toys. Bertie knows sit, down, and stay. Bertie came into the shelter with Marta, who has been adopted. Bertie is approximately 3 years old and weighs 48 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Bertie is waiting patiently in kennel 805; her ID # is 21625. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Meet Tracker Jack - a gentle, calm Malinois. He may seem a bit shy at first, but hell soon settle in right beside you for pets and belly rubs (which, it turns out, he loves).

Tracker Jack knows sit and down, and hes happy to chill in the yard, rolling around in the grass and taking in the sights. He enjoys spending time with other dogs, offering up plenty of play bows along the way, and seems just as content people-watching from the sidelines as joining in the fun.

Sweet, affectionate, and easygoing, Tracker Jack is a total snuggler ready to share his calm, loving energy with someone new.

Story
Mia is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who is full of energy, intelligent, and very affectionate with the people she trusts. We are looking for a home where she can get plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship. She would do best with someone who is home often and can give her the time and interaction she needs, rather than spending long periods in a crate. We think she’d thrive as the only dog, where she can be the center of attention, but she may also do well in a home with another compatible dog. We love her very much and are looking for a family that will be patient, committed, and able to give her the active, loving home she deserves.

Story
Our hearts got the better of us when we agreed to adopt a dog named Lola in an effort to save her from euthanasia.Lola has been wonderful with our other dog; however, having 2 German Shepherds in the home with a 9 month old has proven to be too much. She has seemed a little overwhelmed at times with our loud and active household and would be best in a home with older children/teenagers or a household with a little slower pace. If someone is looking for a guard dog, she is NOT your girl. She is the dog who will let the burglar in the house and show them where her cookie jar is. She is very sweet and loving and will give kisses. She is potty trained, great on leash and knows basic commands like sit and shake. She is highly food motivated and loves a good tennis ball to play fetch with!

Story
Cerberus is a sweet, loving 4-year-old AKC-registered girl who is looking for a new forever home. Due to my own medical circumstances, I’ve reached the incredibly difficult decision that rehoming her is necessary. This is not something I ever imagined having to do, and finding the right home for her is extremely important to me. Cerberus loves playing outside, going for walks, sunbathing, snuggling, and simply being with her people. She is great with children, cats, and other dogs, is leash trained, and knows basic commands. She is naturally protective of her owner, but she has never shown any signs of aggressive behavior. She truly doesn’t ask for much — just love, attention, and a safe place where she has room to run and play. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog who deserves a family that will love her as much as I do.
