Story
This handsome Belgian Malinois mix is Jackson! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 2/11, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Jackson is keeping his paws crossed for a new forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Jackson as friendly and easygoing. He is a smart cookie too and already knows several commands including sit, stay, and down. Belgian Malinois are a working breed of dog and he'll need proper physical and mental stimulation. Please ensure you have the time and energy to commit to Jackson before adopting. Jackson is approximately 2 years old and weighs 53 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and neutered; he will be microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Jackson tested positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care, he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Jackson is waiting patiently in run 835; his ID # is 8066. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Gracie is currently in our boarding facility and ready to embark on a new journey to her forever home  Gracie came to us about 5 months ago, and her transformation is truly inspiring! She was once used for breeding and then sadly neglected, but now Gracie is a vibrant ball of energy, always ready to play! She would absolutely thrive in a home with another dog to play with, and kids would be a wonderful bonus! As an adventurous girl, Gracie loves jumping gates, and her talents would shine in agility courses! Imagine the incredible bond you could share with Gracie - take her home today and discover a new best friend for you, your dog, and kids! She gets along wonderfully with cats, although kittens might be a bit too much for her.   If you're eager to connect with Gracie, please reach out and we'd be thrilled to arrange a life-changing meet and greetApril 4, 2025, 1:10 am

Story
Rico is a handsome black and brown Shepherd mix, born on 1-30-22, and weighs 55lbs. Rico was hit by a car when he was just 6 months old and his elbow was broken. He is now fully recovered with just a minor limp and ready to find his forever family. Rico has big expressive rabbit ears. He is very intelligent and already knows many basic commands, is crate trained, and house trained. He has been professionally trained and comes with lifetime refresher lessons for himself and his adopter. Rico is a high energy boy who loves to play and run around his fenced yard. He is dog friendly and would love a forever home that has another high energy playful pup. Rico is looking for an active family with a fenced yard, and no small kids. He is a wonderful passenger in the car, so a family that will take him on fun adventures is a bonus. He needs someone who will maintain his training and invest time in him. Rico is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about Rico, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org. Story
Hi there! I’m Ferendi, and I’m a high-energy, social boy who loves to make new friends – especially with kids! I’m super playful and can keep up with the best of them, but don’t let my big bark fool you; I’m really just excited to meet you! Once I’m out of my run, you’ll see my softer side – I’m a total snuggle bug, and I love getting cozy with my favorite humans. I’m a good eater, and I’ve been working hard on my training. I know some fun commands like sit, lay down, give paw (shake), wait (for a treat), come (after potty time), and I can even balance on my back legs like a little human! I still have some things to work on, and I’d love to take training classes with you to keep learning and bonding. While I’d prefer to be the only dog in your home, I absolutely adore kids of all ages – as long as they’re not too intimidated by my size and energy. If you think I’m the one for you, I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make some memories together!P.S. I qualify for the Foster First program where you can see if I will be a good fit for your home during a 14-day trial!
