Archie is what happens when someone orders a Malinois mix and selects “extra legs, fewer opinions.” He is long and lanky like a beanstalk, with soft short fur, a cheerful face, and the posture of a tiny aristocrat who absolutely knows which fork is for salad. When he settles, he sits with his paws crossed like he’s waiting for the tea service to begin. A fancy man. A gentleman. A scholar, probably. And then one of his favorite people appears. Suddenly the dignified lord of the manor becomes all bounce and sparkle, like his whole body just remembered joy was an option. Archie loves his people deeply. It may take him a second with someone new, because he is an observant, sensitive soul, but once he clocks that you are kind, that you are safe, that you might be his person, he bonds fast and fully. For a Malinois mix, Archie is almost suspiciously calm. Calm but fun. Watchful but silly. Playful but polite. He walks nicely on leash, though he can get excited when he sees other dogs because, obviously, friendship may be happening and he would like to be considered. Archie loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine friend. He would do best with older kids or calmer kids, since young kid chaos makes him nervous. Cats are unknown. Here is the part that makes my heart ache a little. Archie came into rescue as a puppy with two siblings. They were both adopted quickly. Archie, somehow, is still waiting. Not because he is less wonderful. Not because he is missing anything. Just because the right person has not found their way to him yet. Archie is 2 years old, 70 lbs, and currently in foster. He is soft, sweet, sensitive, and so ready for the part of his life where he is not the one left behind. If you have room for a lanky little gentleman with a loyal heart and crossed paws, Archie is waiting to meet you.

Hi there! My name is Slim! I am a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois/Greyhound mix. I was originally brought into the shelter as a stray and then got adopted shortly after. This time, I was brought back due to my owner having some personal issues. I am a very good boy! I am energetic and love being outside. I even love playing with other dogs too! There is one thing I must warn you about though, I do have a small fear of water. It's mainly related to baths, however we can get me past that by doing baths more often to get me used to them. Other than that, I am an all around perfect boy! If you're interested in meeting me, please come to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter any day they're open. She came into rescue pregnant and gave birth to nine healthy puppies, proving to be an attentive and loving mom, and now it’s her turn to be the center of attention. Sayde absolutely loves to play fetch—be prepared, because she will happily wear your arm out—and she has a blast playing in water from a garden hose. She’s very affectionate, loves giving hugs, and would gladly sleep in bed with you if allowed, though she’s also perfectly content resting in an open crate or on a large dog bed when asked. True to her intelligent working-breed nature, she quickly learned how to use a dog door and thrives on mental and physical activity. Sayde will do best with an experienced owner who understands the needs of high-energy working breeds and can provide consistent structure, training, and daily exercise. A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Clyde! Clyde is a sweet, smart, and endlessly affectionate Belgian Malinois who hasn’t let anything slow him down—not even becoming a “tripod” after losing his front left leg. As far as Clyde is concerned, he’s just like any other dog—ready to run, play, wrestle, and soak up all the love he can get (especially during his favorite “snuggle time”). This curious boy has lots of energy and will thrive in an active home that can keep both his body and mind engaged. He absolutely loves toys and playtime, and like many Malinois, he can be a bit mouthy and sometimes forget just how big he is. Clyde is still working on his manners and can act like a toddler in a dog’s body, so he’ll need a patient, experienced owner committed to continuing his training and helping him grow into his best self. Clyde is crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and already knows some basic commands. He does have some resource guarding tendencies with food and toys, so he’ll need a confident, experienced handler who can manage and continue working on those behaviors. Because of this—and his energetic, sometimes bouncy personality—an adult-only home without small children would be the best fit. His ideal family will also be mindful of his long-term joint health, ensuring his remaining front leg stays strong and supported for years to come. Due to his prey drive we would not recommend a home with other smaller pets present but does get a long with similar size dogs. Clyde currently weighs about 45lbs., is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 11/07/2024), and his adoption fee is $185. Initially described as shy and timid, Tommy simply needs some self-confidence. Born, we believe in 2023, and currently weighing in at about 65 lbs, Tommy is very smart and eager to please. While he can be a little unsure at first, he is quickly learning that life can be full of love, kindness, and fun. Each day, he grows braver--wagging his tail more freely, discovering toys, and learning to be confident. This beautiful boy is dog-friendly and would thrive best in a home with another confident dog who can guide him and show him the ropes. Tommy is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly through the night. Although the crate is not his favorite place, he settles quietly after a few minutes and is content once he feels safe. This handsome boy has completed professional training at Rucker Dog Training, where he learned excellent manners and a variety of commands. This is Kirby, he is a labrador/german sheperd mix.  He is about 3.5 years old.  We rescued Kirby about 3 years ago.  Kirby is such a big loveable baby.  All he wants to do is play, run, and play more.  Which is why I think it is time for a better fitting home.  I do not have the yard space or the time to play with him enough. My family loves him, but this house is not the best fit for him.  Kirby needs a home with a lot of room to run and someone to play with,.  Kirby is great with dogs.  We rescued him from a house full of cats, so I assume is is good with cats too.  I have teenage kids, but he is amazing with them
