Due to unforeseen circumstances, I must leave the country indefinitely and am looking for a loving new home for my sweet boy, Oakley. He is a wonderful 2-year-old Swiss Mountain Dog who is fully crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands. Oakley is completely housebroken and comfortably stays at home alone during the day while I am at work. Although he might experience some separation anxiety during the transition period, he usually adjusts within a few weeks. Oakley is very sociable, having previously lived happily with a small dog, and he thoroughly enjoys off-leash park visits. He absolutely loves belly rubs and chasing laser pointers. Story
Bentley is a beautiful, 3-year-old, Bernese Mountain Dog. He recently joined MHCR from a high intake shelter in Texas after his human died. Unfortunately, no one in the extended family was able to take him in. Bentley is a very playful boy and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He bonds quickly – likely due to what he’s been through – and never strays far from his foster humans. Bentley seems house trained and is crate trained, although he will bark some when he’s crated (and when he’s not, ha). He’s overall very gentle but can be sort of mouthy and jumpy when he’s feeling amped up so a home with super young kiddos may not be the best idea. He has a big personality to match his big, fluffy head and is sure to bring immense joy to whomever is chosen to adopt him! Odessa is eager to learn and already knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay." She’s doing well with potty training but will benefit from continued guidance to help her become fully potty trained. At night, Odessa is calm and quiet in her crate, making her a great companion for peaceful nights. She’s very curious about cats but, instead of being disruptive, she simply lays down when she sees them, showing her gentle nature. With a high energy level, Odessa will thrive in an active home that can provide her with plenty of playtime and mental stimulation. She gets along well with other dogs and is comfortable around other pets. While her leash skills are still unknown, with some training, she will likely excel.
