I am a BROC Senior Sunsetter and I've been living with my foster family here for over four years. Being a Senior Sunsetter means I'm kinda special. My mom says I'm the sweetest, most loving girl you can find. She must surely love me because even though I have ongoing health challenges, she said she will take care of me for the rest of my life. It has not been easy for her - or me! You see, I have something called "auto-immune deficiency" so I got this bad thing on my back and tummy. Mom called it MRSA. Not sure what that means but sometimes I sure itch a lot. My mom and the doctors treated me for a over a year with all sorts of medication. Now, my mom gives me special baths every other day to keep me as comfortable as possible. Last year, I had to have surgery in my tummy. They said I had a hernia and they needed to take it out. I don't know what they did because luckily I was sound asleep. I never did see my hernia! I'm so glad that all my family at BROC take such good care of me. I wonder who is taking care of them. At Bichon Rescue of Orange County, our commitment to our pups does not waiver when they have special needs. These special needs pups are less likely to be adopted for reasons of age, health or behavior.
