But he is not very strong, is easy to handle and controll. He responds well to a light leash correction and will usually stop the behavior. However we believe that he'd do the best with an adopter who has prior experience with dogs.

I rescued him and he was a great dog and got along with my other. I rescued 2 kittens and then the jealousy started. He is very gentle to cats but he started to become territorial. He started marking and it has been difficult for us to deal with him. We love him because he is such an affectionate dog. We spend time and set time for cuddles and playtime with just him. It has a year and nothing has changed.

A spirited almost seven-year-old Bichon Frise/West Highland White Terrier mix currently in Walnut Creek, CA, whose essence is a bundle of sweetness wrapped in a fluffy, mostly white coat. At 14 pounds, Winnie is a small boy with a big enthusiasm for being close to his people! He is a constant companion who happily turns everyday moments into adventures, whether he is heading out for a walk, hopping into the car for a ride, or settling nearby at bedtime. His medium energy level pairs nicely with an active family. Winnie enjoys three to five walks a day or access to a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs. He also gets the zoomies indoors, so room to run is appreciated! Playtime is one of Winnie’s specialties. Stuffed animals are favorites, but bring out a ball and he is ready for fetch! He also enjoys a game of tug-of-war, making him a fun companion for people who enjoy interactive play. Winnie knows “quiet,” “stay,” and “sit,” comes when called, and could continue building his skills through positive reinforcement. Winnie is friendly with strangers and generally gets along well with cats. He has not met another dog directly, so his compatibility with dogs is unknown. On walks, however, he shows curiosity and wants to approach other dogs. He has not spent time around children. Fritz is truly amazing, he was abandoned and sat waiting for his owner’s return but they never came back. A Good Samaritan took him in and contacted our rescue. Fritz loves all dogs big and small, loves all people. He is so loving and sweet. He is learning to walk well on a leash, he is healthy we have done blood work, fecal test, dewormed, microchipped. And neutered, he also is on flea meds and is headed to the groomer this week. He will just get even better looking. He is crate trained and is getting potty trained. Truly you could not ask for a sweeter easygoing dog, he is also so smart learns fast. To adopt you need to fill out an application at Eloiserescue.org. Sorry no out of state adoptions.
