Story
Meet Harley! This beautiful boy is an approximately 6 year old, Bichon that is about 20lbs. Harley was surrendered to us when his owners moved and did not want to take him along. It's ok because it is their loss and our gain! We found out that Harley was basically kept inside a mobile home 24 hours of the day while his owner was at work 12-14 hours. He didn't receive any socialization and was reprimanded for going potty in the house. We brought him into our foundation and into one of our amazing foster homes that has other dogs and a full family of people to see how he did. We can see that he can be a bit dominant with other dogs at first, but with correction which he takes well, he is learning day by day how to socialize properly. He is great with people! We do want him in an adult only home as he is a bit strong. Harley loves to play ball (small Kong balls are his favorite!) and will entertain himself with one or will play with you by bringing the ball to you and having you throw it. Harley's ideal home would be with an owner who is not gone long hours during the day and will take him for a few walks which he loves. He is great on leash! He's a good eater, but his skin was left by his prior owner...completely infested with fleas which caused allergies, so an owner that will incorporate good home cooking and supplements into his meals, is exactly what he needs! Harley is a bit clumsy in the car, but does love to sit by your side. He will need practice with that. Harley definitely can be an only dog with an owner who will spend time with him or he could be adopted with one other dog in the home that is not dominant or he could be adopted with his buddy Tali, a female 2 year old, 17lb, Maltese/Terrier mix. A home with a yard is exactly what Harley needs as he loves sunbathing and helps with his potty training into a new home. Harley was not treated well in his prior home, so we want to make sure he gets the best forever family out there! Harley is microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Garden! ❤💕🐾 The Happy and Energetic Bichon Frise! Meet Garden! A friendly and outgoing 3 years old male Bichon Frise weighing in at 7kg or approx. 15 lbs. Garden is fully vaccinated and neutered and in search of his forever family. Garden has a very friendly personality and is kind to everyone he encounters. He is always wagging his tail, with a big doggy smile on his face. Garden has shown zero signs of aggression towards any animals or humans. He gets along great with men, women and other dogs! He is nondestructive and enjoys cuddling up with a nice dog toy! Garden was rescued at a high kill dog shelter. When he was rescued off of the streets in a highly trafficked tourist area, we assumed he was someone’s pet. After spending some time in the shelter, no one came for Garden. He was on his way to being euthanized, but our rescue was able to save him and now we are on the hunt for his furever home. Please open your heart and home up and consider adopting Garden. Story
Buddy is a very sweet and lively little boy. He is seven months old and about 8 pounds. He was bought from a breeder and is very friendly. He is great with kids and even cats. We love him but even though his breed is hypo allergenic our kids are highly allergic and we just can't keep him. I've never heard him growl. He is still mostly a puppy and nibbles on stuff but he does not bite. He's mostly good, but potty training has been difficult for us as he has been going back and forth to my elderly mother's house because of the kids allergies.

SOFIA IS SPECIAL NEEDS AND IS IN NEED OF A SPONSOR. SHE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Hello everyone, My name is Sofia and my personality is as big as my beautiful name. I'm a 9-year-old small 8-pound Bichon Frise mix. I am fun, loving and full of spirit! They call me a SPECIAL NEEDS PUP. I took a fall before becoming a BROC BABE and the doctors said I would NEVER walk again due to a spinal cord rupture. But my foster mom says I have the will to get wherever I want, nothing holds me back. My BROC Aunties got some custom wheels for me and you should see me run. I'm like a horse in its chariot, and I must say, I do look adorable. I take walks with and without my wheels, I walk with all my fur siblings and chase bunnies like no other but I need my wheels at times. My foster mom loves me and takes great care of me. I am still practicing walking and recovering and could use some help with my medical bills and daily needs. If youd like to sponsor me, please use the link below. Thank you! Story
Sweet with a good mix of calm and fun...Thats our Chloe! Chloe is a 6/7 year old, female, Lhasa/Shih Tzu mix that is about 17lbs. This pretty girl was rescued from a hoarding situation where 17 dogs were kept in covered crates 22 hours a day. We got all 17 dogs out, some went to our rescue partners and we held onto 5 of them. Chloe is an amazing dog who is so sweet and friendly with people...not one bit of aggression. She is a little selective with dogs, but does have a best friend that she could be adopted with her best friend Tali, a 3 year old, 16lb Maltese mix. We will possibly consider adopting Chloe out as an "only" dog if we feel it's the right home with owners that are home most of the day and will continue socializing her with other dogs frequently. She is great on leash and a good eater. She loves affection, but is not needy and would be fine with children 12 years old and older. She does require a cytopoint (allergy) shot as needed which is usually ever 2-3 months and she does require full grooming every 6 weeks, so that should be taken into consideration when inquiring. Chloe has been through a lot and we promised her that we would find her the best and most loving forever home out there! Chloe is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: Gia@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Chloe's adoption fee is $500.

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET DUSTIN…a kissy face, 13 lb, cream colored, 4.5 yr old ShihTzu Poodle, who came from the streets with his homeless mom. This poor baby has not had an easy life. His mom didn’t even know how old he was (she knew his birthday 12/21, just wrong year!) When he arrived, he was a little disoriented but within a few hours, he knew he was safe. He’s a good eater, very affectionate and wants to be with you all the time. He is easy to take to brunch or wherever you go…he wants to please and be your guy! When you first leave him, he doesn’t like it and will bark — but having another dog in the home who he can bond to, along with a loving family and kids over 8 yrs old, makes it easier for him to know he isn’t being abandoned. Definitely will need a buddy — human and canine! Dustin is good on a leash but definitely could use some training! He will bark at people and other dogs, so needs to be distracted. He likes to do his business outside for the most part, but could use practice. His favorite place to do #2 is against a tree or in the bushes! If he can’t get outside, he will use a pp pad for the most part. We never guarantee anyone is potty trained, but he is smart and wants to please, so we believe he will be easy to train. Little Dustin needs a home where his family will be there to reassure him he will always have roof over his head. Dustin would love a yard, another dog as a companion and of course, you. So far, he is good with everyone…dogs, people, kids. Would you allow him to be good with you and your family? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET KAI! A 3 yr old, tan/white, 14.5 lb, adorable Shih Tzu, who came from the streets of San Bernardino with no history. We learned that the foster who found him crated him for 20 hours a day for a week, and by the time he came to us, he had developed more anxiety and fear. Fortunately, we found a trainer who helped get him through most of his issues. However, she was unable to finish his training, so he is still a bit reactive to other dogs. We are working on this and once he is okay, he basically ignores them. Kai is a smart, friendly dog who does his best with regular exercise and dedicated attention — and he needs a patient, experienced home that will give him time to acclimate. If he gets bored or is not stimulated he will revert to bad behavior. Insufficient physical activity can lead to heightened anxiety, so he needs an active home that will engage him. Kai gets super excited when you come home or it’s feeding time! He is a foodie and is very motivated by treats! Kai is OK interacting with calm dogs and is friendly with people and children after an introduction. Encounters with dogs on the street and/or leashed require ongoing reinforcement, as he becomes overly excited and will dart toward them, sometimes resulting in a nip. However, once allowed to familiarize himself, sniff and settle, he doesn’t pay much attention to them. Treats definitely help! He just needs parameters and he will be an outstanding citizen! While we don’t always recommend crates, some dogs consider them a “safe cave,” especially if that is how they are trained. Initially, Kai had barking issues, which have definitely settled, and he can be comfortable with another dog (of his choosing) who he can bond to. He has specific commands (YES!!) that he readily responds to, which should always be a part of your relationship. Kai’s favorite and never changing thing is to collect squeaky toys and empty water bottles! He is comfortable engaging in training, but may demonstrate nipping behavior when teased or overly stimulated. He’s like a puppy at times, teething on your hands/fingers. He can be very moody (at least with me!) His guarding issues with toys has dissipated (people and dogs) for the most part, but not with food. Take it slow and watch his body language. He’ll let you know. If you hear a growl, back off! An active home, with another small, playful pup and a firm yet gentle guidance, patience, and ample acclimation time has proven to be the ticket for Kai. While he is motivated by food and toys, his main drive is to please people. Could this be your next family member? He’s available now (to the right home!) Our website is updated daily.
