Story
Hello People, My name is Vivi and I’m a sweet and quite sassy little girl of five looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate -- and as feminine as they come. I’m all of 12 pounds, am housebroken (and use the doggy door) and I love my crate. I even put myself to bed at night if I’m tired (but Mom lets me come in to the Big People’s Bed in the morning for a cuddle or two or three!) Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. He and Mom are doing their best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. I’m definitely making progress but will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart and VERY savvy dog person. If that sounds like you, please read on! While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.) I walk well on a leash and am learning to relax in the car. I do best on short drives and when I can listen to music. I do love to cuddle and am known for springing up into your lap to cuddle at the slightest provocation and wanting you to pet my head ( but only my head, please!). If you are lying on the sofa, I love to roll on top of you and make cute little "snorty" noises as I turn around. Unfortunately I’m not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry! I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says before I became a FurKid I was adopted simply because I am cute. So I formed some bad habits that she is helping me to overcome. Since I’m smart, I’m definitely learning what to do and not do. I’m also a bit selective about making friends. I bark when people come to the door (Dad says I’m a great watchdog) but when I know someone, I’m much friendlier. I also guard my toys, which is why I’m best as the only pup in the house. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time * NO other FurKids--as I like to be the center of attention * Adults only * NO children or grandchildren * Committed to training me Experience level: *Recent dog experience a must! *Rescue dog experience a plus! *Experience with behavioral training a real plus!!! Because I wasn’t successful in my ‘past life’ I’m hoping to make up for lost time – and am looking for adopters who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue to work on my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort but you have to know my signals so that I can be successful. If I sound like the pup you are looking for please let us know. It will be a very special home to which I am adopted as I’m a very special kind of pup. If that sounds like you, please send an email explaining your experience and background to bfkapplicants@gmail.com If you sound like you represent a fit, we will be back in touch. Tail wags and cuddles, Vivacious, Intelligent and Very Independent Vivi

Story
Hi People! My name is Wonderful Winky and I am a sweet, cuddly, affectionate, outgoing, and sensitive boy of about one or two (years that is) who tips the scale at 14 pounds and LOVES to cuddle! Although I'm young. I'm already proving that I'm SMART — and easy to train. (Why, I already know some commands and want to learn more! And since I'm eager to please, the more you can teach me, the more I can learn. Pretty soon I'll have this thing called a 'vocabulary' that I have learned with your help!) Did I mention that I just love people? AND I also love other dogs. My foster Mom and Dad call me their shadow because I want to be with them all the time. I love following them around and watching what they are doing; I know there are all kinds of things that I can learn —and I simply want to be near them! While there are many cute things that I do to entertain them, the one that really, truly makes them smile and laugh is when I sit just like a person! Here's how that works: I put my hind legs out front, sit up really tall and straight, and stay perfectly still. In other words, I imitate them so they will think I'm a people too! Besides being a great shadow and entertainer, I love going for walks and rides in the car. I'm also masterful at snuggling and do so with them every night. I've been told that I give really good kisses and am the best cuddler (Aw, gee, thanks Mom and Dad!) I love to play with my toys and fetch them and bring them back to my house (or crate or whatever it’s called). I also really love fruit! Blueberries, strawberries, apples, bananas, pumpkin… you name it! I don’t like vegetables though because vegetables are icky! Eww!! Did I mention I like to cuddle?? Well, I DO! It’s my jam. Morning, noon, or night, if you need a cuddle buddy, look no further! I'm the guy for that job. I am not picky when it comes to dog food and even though I have a lot to learn if you want to teach me, I am already well-behaved! I enjoy going for rides and walks and sit patiently and wait for treats — and I'm housebroken. You will be happy to know that I rarely bark or am vocal (but when I do my foster parents say it is SUPER CUTE). Basically, I'm very relaxed and chill, but sometimes I do get this thing called "The Zoomies." I don’t know where it comes from but all of a sudden I get a BURST of energy and race around the house running and playing and full of this thing called "exuberance" (I don't know exactly what that means but Mom says it's a good thing!) Dad says it’s totally normal and lots of little FurKids do it so I shouldn’t be embarrassed. I'm just a really good, fun-loving bichon pup! My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time but also has an active lifestyle *Another active, playful dog around my age *Active adults or a family with kids Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus I really hope I can find my Forever family, as that is what I want most of all. If you adopt me, I promise to love you forever and be the best little boy you will ever meet. We can cuddle and snuggle, go for walks and rides - and I know I can make you happy because I have SO MUCH love to give. Please complete our adoption application so we can meet! Story
Hi People! I’m Dickens, a playful and gorgeous Bichon boy of not quite two who loves other dogs and people! I’m intelligent, loving, energetic and inquisitive -- and I want everyone to know that Life is Good! I love my foster Mom! I love car rides! I love going for walks! And guess what? I love to learn! Every day is filled with new experiences and adventures. I am a very lucky boy! Mom says that I have the most expressive face, am very smart and already housebroken (and that’s not a typo!) I have the cutest way of cocking my head when she talks to me. And I listen intensely because I want to please! While I’m still learning new things, I already respond to my name. (I actually come when anyone calls me) and am learning lots of human words like: ‘sit’, and ‘wait’. Mom says I’m friendly, happy, exuberant (I don't know exactly what that means but she says it's good) playful and never aggressive. I’m always patient and ready to undertake any new adventure. You might say I’m ready, willing and able to be your adventure partner. My BFK Aunties say I’m a ‘man sized bichon' (about 20 pounds) who likes to cuddle and give doggy kisses. They say that I'm as sweet as I am handsome! I long for the day that I can sleep in the Big People's bed and have a family of my own to share my joy and love. If that could include a doggy brother or sister to play with my life would be complete. In return, I will do my best to keep everyone smiling and feeling important and loved. (That will be easy for me because whatever family adopts me will be my whole world.) My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog around my age *A family with kids would be great! Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus So if you are looking for a best friend who likes to ride, walk, play and cuddle, then look no further -- as I am the pup for the job. Please complete our adoption application so we can meet. In the meantime I’ll be learning new things and practicing how to be the bestest buddy in the world. Tail wags and bichon kisses, Dapper and Dashing Dickens

Story
Hello New Friends, My name is Charismatic and Cuddly Charlie-- and I’m a dashing, adorable, happy and tail-wagging Bichon guy of two (years that is) weighing an athletic 18 pounds. I might look familiar to you and you may have read about me before, as I’m kind of famous. You see, I was rescued by a nice lady in Lodi who saw me living in a backyard with no four-legged friends, little water, nothing much to eat and with very little human attention. She offered to ‘help me’ and took me to her home where I was surrounded by three big, sweet Pit bull pups and a small 3 year old toddler. Well, that was quite a change and, as you are about to find out, I immediately adjusted. I knew right then and there that my life was going to be much, much better and happier. Fast forward, the nice lady talked to my BFK Aunties and I discovered that I was going to become a FurKid. My foster Dad drove to get me and bring me to my amazing foster home. Once I arrived I decided to charm everyone, from Mom (that was easy) to my young doggy foster sister (that was easy too) then to the older doggy foster sister (a FurKid who knows how to get what she wants) and (drum roll please) even the somewhat grumpy older doggy foster brother. Now that was the accomplishment-- because he doesn’t usually want to play with ‘the youngsters!’ I again immediately showed that I was very adaptable, loving (more on that in a minute) and SMART. Even though I was an outside pup in the beginning of my life, I learned to do my ‘business’ outside and come inside for cuddles, love and play time. Mom says I’m eager to please and like being praised for being such a good boy! I’ve also started to learn a few of those things called ‘commands’ and really want to learn more. Will you teach me? I'll be the very best student you'll ever meet! Dad says I’m like a long legged colt or a gazelle and that he loves to see me run. I can run very, very fast and then spin in a circle when I’m excited. When I stop and you reach down to pet the side of my head or neck, I press my face into your hand and look lovingly into your eyes. Dad says that will melt your heart as it has his (that’s the loving stuff I was talking about.) The most endearing thing about me, though, is how quickly I trust and love people, even after having such a terrible start in my young life. I have other things I love starting with my toys! Rope toys and balls are my favorites so far… I also love playing with my young doggy foster sister, getting petted, cuddling, being loved and definitely being appreciate!!) My Ideal Home MUST Have: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog for me to play with *Adults or a family with kids Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus I’m just a very happy, playful and big-hearted boy whose goal in life is to bring you joy and make you smile! And I do that very well! So if you have a young FurKid or two, enjoy going on walks and having adventures, I'm applying to be your new best friend. Please ask for me by name! Tail wags and Bichon kisses, Charming, Cuddly and Charismatic Charlie

Story
Hello World! I’m Energetic and Endearing Emmy, an adorable and happy little bichon pup who is a bundle of love weighing 12 pounds and a year and a half old. I love everybody (big and small, I like them all!) and everything -- and I am always interested in what is going on around me. Mom says I’m a goofy, happy, loving and all-around great puppy who is big on having fun and equally big on loving. (Can you tell she kind of likes me?) I love to run (and when it’s nice) sun in the yard – and try to play with my doggy foster siblings. They are much older and not as interested in playing as I am. (Dad says they are a bit grumpy but I try to convince them to play anyway!) I like to play with toys and can entertain myself – but I’d really, really like another young pup to play with please. Mom is working on teaching me to fetch. Right now she does a pretty good job of fetching (but I’m learning how to do it, too!). Because I’m a youngster I still have lots of things to explore and learn. As a result, I keep quite busy all day long. I try to engage all of the pups in our house and I love when Dad comes home from work. I do my best to show him how adorable and loving I can be (And he agrees I am, too!) When I meet people I look right at them. Then they stop and tell me how cute I am and I do my best to be even cuter! Mom and Dad say to mention that I’m smart, sweet and eager to please! Did I mention I only weigh 12 pounds and that I like to snuggle and cuddle -- and give lots of kisses? When you sit down I lay on your lap, stretch out as much as I can, show my belly then bury my face for loves. Mom says I have a zest for life and love to give doggy kisses to everyone! Besides playing and cuddling I also am learning to go for walks and rides in the car. I’m still a ‘work in process’ when it comes to walking so I’ll need someone who can be patient and consistent with me. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog around my age *A family with teenagers would be great – but respectful younger children are ok Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus I’m working very hard to become a perfect pup so that I can soon have a Forever Family of my own who will love and cherish me like Mom and Dad do --and make me a part of their lives. So if you like to be loved and entertained, have another young and energetic pup that can be my friend, please complete our adoption application and ask for me. I’ll be working on all my manners and waiting with all my heart. Tail wags and kisses, Energetic, Endearing and Enthusiastic Emmie
