Story
Meet LINCOLN, a darling little Bichon Frise boy. He's a friendly chap who thrives on attention. Lincoln is a velcro dog, his happy place is in your lap. Lincoln loves his squeaky toys. He's good with kitties and enjoys the companionship of other smallish dogs so we'd like to find him a home with another friendly dog. Lincoln came to us in a severely matted state, so he had to be closely clipped in order to get rid of mats and make him comfortable. Lincoln will require regular grooming, his adopter must be prepared for that expense. Keeping a long-haired dog groomed isn't just a cosmetic issue, it is a health issue. Matting can cause skin problems, discomfort, infections and other problems. Preference will be given to applicants with small, long-haired dog experience. If you'd like to meet Lincoln, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.  Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 24, 2026, 9:06 pm

Story
Hi! We’re Fozzie Bear and Princess Jasmine. We are a bonded pair that is looking for our forever home. Fozzie Bear is a Chihuahua mix and weighs about 15lbs. He loves sitting on laps and playing by running around the house. Princess Jasmine is a bichon mix that loves holding your hand and laying with you. They both love going for walks and don’t mind other pets. We sleep together at night in a comfy spot like a dog bed.  We have been tested with dogs, cats, and kids and we are super well behaved! We do better in a pen or enclosed space but can be put in a crate if needed. We are potty trained but will need some time to adjust to a routine. Apply to adopt us today! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   March 8, 2026, 1:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Scooter is an 11 year old pureblood Bischon Frise.  He is nuetered, UTD on his shots and is scheduled for a dental cleaning.  Scooter needs an experienced dog person to be his human.  He is slow to warm up.....6-10 weeks, but the wait is worth it according to his foster mom.  He does not do good with small children.  Older children are fine.  He likes other dogs, but is not a cat fan.  He loves being outdoors and walks well on a leash.  He would be over the moon to have a fenced yard to play in.Scooter's life changed for the better when he started taking fluoxedine (doggie prozac)  This inexpensive medicine helps regulate Scooter's nervous system and greatly reduces his anxiety. We feel it is better to be very honest on these dog listings....Scooter will need some extra patience and love to help him live his best life.  His turn around in foster care has been amazing.  HIs forever person has to be willing to give him time to adjust to his new home.  Scooter thinks he is worth the time and work it takes to help him adjust...Are you the special person Scooter is looking for?Adoption fee to help defray SCooter's vet costs:  $150Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 24, 2026, 8:41 pm

Story
Ellery is a six-year-old 15 pound Bichon Frise Poodle gentle soul. Once her person or family adopts her, she will gradually become comfortable in her new home. Ellery began her life in a puppy mill and takes time to get to know people. Now that she is becoming accustomed to affection and love, she is learning trust humans. Ellery is a sweet, gentle girl who may be shy when meeting new people or being picked up, but with a little patience, she relaxes and leans into the comfort. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body; just a soft heart that’s learning to feel safe. Ellery gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a calm home that gives her the time and reassurance. She is currently working on leash skills and potty training with puppy pads, and is learning what is expected of her. She may not come running up right away—but give her a little time, and you’ll see how special she is. Ellery is ready for a fresh start and a family who will show her all the love she deserves. Ellery is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Betty is a 6-year-old, 10lb Bichon Frise with a heart of gold. she is timid at first and learning humans won't hurt her. Despite that, she is a sweet girl and would make the perfect lap dog! She is crate trained and her foster mom never hears a peep while crated. She uses pee pads when her foster mom is at work, but has picked up quickly that going outside means potty time. Betty loves the resident dog, she really comes out of her shell in her presence! Betty will require another confident dog in the home. She loves bathing in the sunshine and sniffing fresh air. You can tell she has been crated most of her life and walking on a leash is foreign, so a physically fenced yard is a must. Betty is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Story
Bexley is a six-year-old, 15-pound Bichon Frise poodle with the sweetest, gentle soul. Although she began her life in a puppy mill, she is finally getting the chance to learn what it means to just be a dog. Bexley is becoming more like herself each day. Bexley can be a little shy at first and may need a bit of time to feel safe, but with the right home, her loving nature will begin to flourish. She is a dog that loves to be held closely. Bexley does well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm, patient home that can continue building her confidence. She’s currently working on walking with a leash and potty training with puppy pads, but she is making progress with consistency and support. Bexley has some energy, but not an overwhelming amount. She would need a home with a fence or be kept on a leash outside to keep her adventurous personality from leading her too far away. More than anything, Bexley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and finally understood. With a little patience and a lot of kindness, she’s going to make someone a truly special companion. Bexley is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
